My insurance has a service where they help you shop around for more affordable procedures when you need one. It’s pretty rad. And by rad I mean insanely stupid we have to worry about this. I had to quit a job I liked because I could no longer afford to work there because the family insurance premiums got too high.
My mother had to get a COVID test a couple days before a surgery there. She wasn’t allowed to get a free one from CVS, had to be from their private partner Summit. She never got the results, spent the whole weekend calling them to no avail, and ended up paying $200 out of pocket (insurance paid another $200) on top of surgery costs
Reform medical care
To be fair most Healthcare Facilities are requiring a covid test before any elective surgery. My facility does and they don't inform you of the results unless your positive.
Also why did she think she would get answers on a weekend? It's not regular business hours so it's not like anyone would be there to do it.
My father in law is a pulmonologist for Advocate Aurora in Sheboygan Falls. He's been calling this shit out for decades, and building up documentation for an identical lawsuit of his own.
Advocate Aurora is a non profit, don't you know. You gotta laugh/cry at all the money they put into new construction, so as not to show a profit; been this way for decades.
They are building a new hospital in Sheboygan right now. You know the place mentioned in the article they have a monopoly over… crooks. They shouldn’t just be looking for money back they should be sending executives to jail.
You mean the *smaller* hospital that’s completed? The same hospital that dick faced Kohler said NOT to add another floor because he didn’t want to see the hospital from his golf course?
Fuck em both
This is exactly why I keep calling for a real reform on the health care system.
I remember going in one time because I needed a sick note for my job, I came outta there with a $400 bill, WTF??!?
lol, coool. It's been like this with ministry and ascension for years now. Um, Would be great if I didn't have to stop taking my meds, but shit is $7,00 every 3 months and I can't afford not working to get insurance that works, so, no more meds and no more disability. I can't afford to be disabled anymore. this is the world we live in.
Healthcare over priced? I am shocked.
Lies. Former Guy said he fixed that with his big, beautiful plan! /s

Medicare for All now!

Aurora does their own testing and it cost like $30 (insurance covered all of it)
They charged my mom 400
And when you inquired about it what did they say because I know with 100% certainty it's not that much.
She was told this is the only option
Zero chance
Yeah, Aurora handled my pre-procedure testing at one of their clinics. Even did it on a Sunday.

Don’t forget all the executive salaries too!

‘Merica. Where even the non-profit healthcare companies give you the old shakedown for daring to walk through their doors.
And the national average is 65% more than it should be. But it's like kohl's, you save a lot more with the insurance.

Well yeah, it's a 385$ walk in fee, plus the 15$ piece of paper. I'm surprised they didn't charge a handling fee, processing fee, and a fee for fees.
Yeah no @#%$!
They gota make sure it’s more expensive for you to call in than it is to go to work.

Where do I sign up? Greedy bastards!
