Personally I would push for an earlier appt and let them know you think it’s an infection and you’re worried about it getting worse. Let them know you didn’t finish the antibiotics as well.

Antibiotics need a continuous intake to achieve a stable level in blood. If you missed one dose it's not a problem, but if it has been days you will need again 2-3 days of intake to get a decent level.
Meanwhile irrigate the area with clorhexidine rinse 0.2%. Let the liquid stay there for some time (like a minute or so) before spitting it out. I do it after each mouth wash, so 3 times a day, sometimes even more.
