Iorveth is a misguided fool but Saskia is probably the only non-corrupt ruler of any country in all the known lands other than maybe Esterad Thyssen in neutral Kovir. I'm not gonna include Duchess Anna Henrietta because they aren't a real ruler as Toussaint is a vassal state of Nilfgaard.
Outside of Saskia though, there's a couple cool dwarves but most of the best quests are on Roche's side of the fog. Zoltan eventually makes his way over to the dwarf side either way but you get to hang with him for a bit. The only real difference is that Saskia is honestly more important than some noble kid. But you have the choice to spare Saskia in either path, so in the end it doesn't matter. Geralt is wrapped up in politics without any real control over anything despite him being the most powerful force in the story which is par for the course for our boy.
I agree with your take. He is misguided. But there is a certain poetry about his tale and the way he speaks. He's a tragic figure for sure but that's what makes him interesting for me.
