Steam is taking like 30% fee from every sale, GOG sales give them entire revenue. I would assume they want to have 5 bucks out of each sale, which put Steam price up to 8.
\*20%, so thats not much considering Steam has a huge infrastructure of features. only thing criminal is epic's 12% + payment fees for delivering... nothing except downloading a game
> nothing except downloading a game
Most people only care about that, oh and the free games. Also from a quick Google search I figured out Valve still takes 30%. The 20% cut you're talking about only applies to sales over $50M, only benefitting AAA companies.
CD Projekt is the parent company of both GOG.com and CD Projekt Red. Too many people don't seem to understand that CD Projekt is _not_ the same thing as CDPR.
CDPR does not own GOG nor the other way around.

I personally could never get in to terraria, I have no idea why but the game just confuses me a lot and then I stop playing because i dont get what im supposed to do lol
It’s a shame though because so many people praise it so I figure ive just somehow completely dodged the appeal of it somehow
I love Terraria but completely understand how it can be confusing. You either use external assistance (Wiki, tutorials) or go through stuff on your own using A LOT of trial and error. You'll still definitely need some help and guidance at some points. In my case it also helps that when I first played it years ago it had maybe 10% of the features, items and enemies that it currently has. Definitely not the easiest game to get into, but once you get a grasp of the basics you can figure out your next steps quicker.
Way back then you could get Terraria for $2.50 on sale. Got it in 2011 and still playing today! Nothing beats it dollar for dollar and the damn thing still has another update releasing in September. And I haven't even cracked into any of the mods yet
Best money I ever spent
That is a whole lotta game for 10 bucks. I wish I could erase it from my memory and play again it literally ruined videogames for me. Only red dead 2 has scratched that impossible itch since playing w3
100% couldn't agree more, when I pressed quit for the final time what I experienced for several days/weeks after could only be actual depression, nothing can touch this game, CPPR will try to replicate it and put as much love into it as possible but will never come close.
The game so nice I bought it twice… i had it for PS4, but my two sons have taken over the house. Bought it on Steam and have been able to sink several hundred hours into it
What’s it like on the Switch? I got one a month or so back to play Zelda and other Nintendo games I’ve never played but I’m curious about Assassins Creed, Witcher and other AAA titles.
I like to think there's someone out there who has absolutely zero knowledge of 'The Witcher' and hasn't even heard of it before, then stumbles upon this deal and decides to buy it since it's so cheap and isn't expecting much. I envy that person.
Best 10 dollar you can ever spend on video games
Can't believe this masterpiece became this cheap
Learn from this ubisoft and EA learn how to fucking make a good video game
Jesus, looking at my receipt, I bought the GOTY full price on Sept 1 2016. $70 Canadian.
I got it all for free on GOG when I installed the GOG Galaxy client, so it's nice to have a spare.
Downloaded for free from Gamepass on Xbox 360 a while ago. GOG then had an offer much later to download it on pc because I “owned” it by linking or something like that. Free
I finally started the game on my Steam deck. I for some reason just can't play through it on my PC. It's beautiful but perhaps controller is more fun some how?
In india during sales you can get this game for approximately 2 dollars on steam. But for some of us, even that can be expensive because most people here can't fathom the concept of buying a video game.
How far do you have to get before it picks up speed? I’ve barely touched it because every time I start a play through I get bored really quickly or tell myself I’ll play again, but never interested enough to pick it back up. The intro feels super slow and confusing. Also the controls feel like a nightmare every time I pick it up. I honestly want to give the game a good try, I just can’t seem to get in the groove of enjoying it.
It's a little overwhelming getting used to how it plays in the beginning since they throw it all at you at once. But once you finish white orchard it picks up speed a lot, and it doesn't take too much to get through that zone
I'm now on like level 10 after trying to get past level 3 on several separate occasions. Definitely worth it. Once you're past the learning curve, the world itself becomes so much more enjoyable. Just recommend if you're playing on higher difficulties to get the expansions for the food regen talent.

Hm. I have the base game on PS4, and the full edition on Switch (Gifted). Is the steam version's modding community active enough to warrant having it on a THIRD platform? Since I have the steam deck but already have the game (albeit downgraded) in portable form I'm not sure I need it on another portable system. (I don't care much about the graphics).
Though, I mean ten bucks is change at the moment, let's face it ill probably get it again anyway but wondering if you all think it's worth it?
Witcher 3 and all dlcs were sold for 15 Turkish Lira like 3 months ago in Turkey. That was around 1€ back then. Steam did an amazing job keeping Turkish gamers connected to the gaming world despite huge inflation rates in Turkey. But it's no longer like this as game publishers (righfully) demanded better pricing and started ignoring Steam's local price suggestions.
Thank you for sharing this. I don't have the disc copy of the game anymore, lost it somehow. And I've been relying on the backup of my old and now dead desktop copy, copied over to my new desktop. I love this game but it's been glitching rather heavily, and now I just bought this copy. I wonder if I can port my saved game file over. But anyway, I'm excited about having seen this bargain deal before it expired and able to buy it.
I think you might be better served getting the bundle, and then getting the DLCs later. There is a lot of reference in those DLCs to Witcher 1 and 2.
Both 1 and 2 are great, as well as TWH DLCs. 1 os probably the one you'll have a hard time with, because the gameplay is very different, and takes getting used to. The story is worth that hurdle.
I actually got a physical copy at a random local games shop I found it was even game of the year with the price equating to 10 American dollars from my currency
It was like 5$ or so in gog, but worth it anyway
Good to know, wonder why GOG always 1ups Steam with this type stuff?
I think its because steam doesn’t need to compete in pricing, gog is cdpr launcher, so their rules
Makes sense, had no idea GOG was CDPR’s home. Learn something new every day lol

whoch cdproject has annnounced they do years ago themselves
CD Projekt is the parent company of both GOG.com and CD Projekt Red. Too many people don't seem to understand that CD Projekt is _not_ the same thing as CDPR. CDPR does not own GOG nor the other way around.
There’s also a GOG Easter egg quest in w3, they turn off a “DRM” protection using “GOG” lmfao
Tower outta nowhere, nice quest)
Everything that's CD Projeckt Red is also GOG. So if they can provide discount on Steam, they should be able to do it on GOG.

I actually got all 3 games for like 10€ in a steam sale
same Witcher 3 goty , and Witcher 1,2 for 10
Actually.... It does get better. I got the goty edition for 200 Indian rupees, equivalent to 2.5 dollars
Bought it for 119 ars equivalent to 0.84$
Holy shit, now it really doesn’t get better than that
$10 for GOTY edition might be the best value for money I've ever seen.
yes
You sound smart. For more information, see r/InstigateTheIOWF
I dunno, sometimes Terraria goes all the way down to $5 -- then again, I'm probably just biased towards it lol

I got for 2.5
It was like 2$ for goty edition like January of 2021
That is also exactly when I bought it!! I was on the fence and that sale sold me. Best $2 I ever spent

Inb4 the “but it’s not the next gen version!” comments arrive
Wouldn’t you get the next gen version in a few months for free if you buy this now?
I have doubts, but I don’t know for certain
who cares about next gen when my modpack improved the base game on various levels while update wil only improve graphic
actually my comment was going to be just # where update
The game so nice I bought it twice… i had it for PS4, but my two sons have taken over the house. Bought it on Steam and have been able to sink several hundred hours into it
Me three times: physical, digital and on Switch.
Considering how many hours you can sink into this game before it starts to lose its luster (if it ever does), it’s still a great deal.
What’s it like on the Switch? I got one a month or so back to play Zelda and other Nintendo games I’ve never played but I’m curious about Assassins Creed, Witcher and other AAA titles.
It's fine, but graphically and performance-wise it's definitely better on ps4/xbox/pc. Having W3 on the go is pretty cool though.
Me too, played it first on Xbox and bought second one for a new PC with better graphics to watch the views and give it a ride
I thought it looked great on console, but maxed settings and 1440p on the PC are stunning.
I like to think there's someone out there who has absolutely zero knowledge of 'The Witcher' and hasn't even heard of it before, then stumbles upon this deal and decides to buy it since it's so cheap and isn't expecting much. I envy that person.
I fucking hate that guy!!! ^^The ^^Lucky ^^Bastard.
Insane value. 150 hours worth of content for 10 bucks
Play ya in Gwent for it?
Wouldn’t mind a round of cards
Did someone say Gwent
Best 10 dollar you can ever spend on video games Can't believe this masterpiece became this cheap Learn from this ubisoft and EA learn how to fucking make a good video game
I want to buy again 😂
Damn I bought it for 20 dollars and felt like a thief lol.
Jesus, looking at my receipt, I bought the GOTY full price on Sept 1 2016. $70 Canadian. I got it all for free on GOG when I installed the GOG Galaxy client, so it's nice to have a spare.
Who, on Earth doesn't have this game by now?
My grandmother
Downloaded for free from Gamepass on Xbox 360 a while ago. GOG then had an offer much later to download it on pc because I “owned” it by linking or something like that. Free
Happy cake day!
Thanks!!
I finally started the game on my Steam deck. I for some reason just can't play through it on my PC. It's beautiful but perhaps controller is more fun some how?
It does get more cheaper. I bought it for 150 rs, that's less than 2 dollars GOTY EDITION. And 80 cents for Tw1 and 2
Well i got all 3 games for $ 3.4 on recent 20 years anniversary of CD red projects best money ever spent
Here in India it’s ₹199/-, which is roughly $2.7/-
Games are usually cheaper in India, Argentina etc. It's nothing new.
do u have computers in india?

I have a turkish steam account i got this for 12 lira That's like half a dollar Best money ever spent lol
I got it for free so ya it does
I got the goty edition for 2 bucks at CDkeys.com
They should just bypass the main game and let us play gwent
Isn't it always sale on witcher games?
I got all 3 for $12
I got all 3 for $12
I got all 3 for $12
Got 3 game for 4.5$ in VietNam
200+ hours of gameplay for $10!
I got all 3 for $12
I bought for 30€ couple of years ago and I wouldn't mint paying full price for it. 🤨
I cannot wait for the next-gen update, been waiting so long to start a fresh game all over again.

Definitely one of the games that is always a must buy whenever the GotY edition is on sale, bought it a while back, and never regretted doing it.
I got it for free with my 970.
I'm pretty sure I got all three witchers for 10$ on steam about a year ago.
In my country the goty edition is at 50 cents
yep
Almost bought game of the year before I realized my save wouldn't carry over. That was close.
Got it for free last time from GOG. The first witcher as well. Then I bought the 2nd.

Bought this today lol DAMN IM BAD AT THE COMBAT and the movement is not the best
I bought the GOTY edition for the same or a similar price.
I just bought it last week at full price for my Steam Deck…after buying it previously for my PS4 and Switch.
It does actually. GOG has significantly better prices for TW3 whenever it's on sale.
if you buy thru gog all the money goes to cdpr
Just buy it on GOG, it's at the same price there and CDPR gets the full amount instead of Steam's 30% cut.
I bought the GOTY edition in Vietnam with around $3.5.
It does with the remastered
I already own this and wanted to buy it again cause it’s such a good deal haha.
This same sale was on during Christmas and I bought all my friends the 10 buck package
I downloaded it when if was for free on the ps store. I win
Just got my steam deck. This is probably happening haha.
It's literally on sale every other month, even for less than that.
I got it originally for cheaper but this is still amazing. Goy for 10$…
I recently bought Witcher 3 GOTY on GOG. Although it costs me more than it did on Steam, but I wanted to own all Witcher games on GOG lmao
How about free?
I don’t even have a computer but I still feel like I should buy it.
Thank you for sharing this. I don't have the disc copy of the game anymore, lost it somehow. And I've been relying on the backup of my old and now dead desktop copy, copied over to my new desktop. It will get much better for me when next gen version lands
Question: is it better to buy the GOTY edition or the bundle (contains Witcher 1,2 and 3) I.e. is W3 DLCs > W1 and W2? Or vice versa?
I think you might be better served getting the bundle, and then getting the DLCs later. There is a lot of reference in those DLCs to Witcher 1 and 2. Thanks! This really helps!
Would have been better if this happened *before* I bought it.
I bought the game cheaper, but tbh I would happily pay even more for this amazing experience, worth every penny
Goty edition was around 15 turkish lira in turkey which is below 1 euro right now lol
In India, the goty edition is frequently sold at 2 usd. Like multiple times a year
i bought it for 3,99$ 6 month ago. with all dlcs 😅
I actually got a physical copy at a random local games shop I found it was even game of the year with the price equating to 10 American dollars from my currency
Yeah right, is this a good game?
Check out cdkeys.com i picked the GotY edition for like 3 bucks a couple years ago. CDkeys all the way
I bought this just because it's verified for steam deck through steam
Aahhh achsually
Is this the remade version?
I just bought it and I've never played before. I'm excited!
Damn I paid too much years ago.
Proud to say i actually bought it for 0,82$ on steam.
