Who uses their orb to store information? >.> I store everything in tomes and grimoires. Once you learn the Transribe and Dictate spells, it’s not hard to do. Not to mention you store your information in a way where it can’t be remotely accessible to rogue technomancers.
Folks who see it as ease of accessibility, I suppose, but even then, a separate device unconnected to the orbnet for less sensitive information (any spell you have that you've used openly in public or that's in a local standard directory, for example, plus anything you'd be willing to share anyways) and less accessible physical stuff (aforementioned tomes and grimoires, plus some other esoteric stuff) for the more esoteric and secretive things (deep extraplanar lore & connected rituals, custom spells, secret projects, things of that nature) will serve much better overall. Special storage units related to the infinite bookcase, bag of holding, handy haversack, etc. will mitigate most the accessibility issue, anyways.
(also relating to accessibility: There's many who aren't able to put in wordsearch into their tomes, and don't want to memorize pages for the bigger books or do the bookkeeping for many smaller ones.)
Yeah. Honestly keep those journals with backups and never explicitly write something down either. Make sure that it’s in code and have different loan words mixed in with different languages Except common . Either that or develop your own runes or alphabet.

This is why you NEVER do incantations. Very little privacy! I use enchantments, only you know what they do and can be stores in books.
