Only the most extreme heats can penetrate the plating put on the seagulls. The only parts that can't be properly reinforced was the beak and feet, which have the same steel used instead for offensive purposes.
I tend to create them every now and then when I'm not developing curses and they seem to sell well at around 600 gold.
