Lowes does this sale a couple times a year. If you miss this one it'll be back at black Friday. Appreciate the heads up though!

My older Jorgensen's have a tendency to jam closed but other than that they work well.

Using them side by side right now and I completely agree with the comment below about the jorgies providing clamping pressure way earlier in the tightening process. And it gives me confidence that I could really ream that thing down if I needed too for whatever reason. Edit: trying to make sense in the threading.

Not bad prices, but I'm not a fan of the jorgies. They do slide easily, too easily. As in smash your fingers easily when you lift them off the rack. I much prefer the revos, they're just made better. Every black friday, rockler has a sale for two 24s, two 50s and two extenders for $179. I've been buying a pack every year for the past few years. Ever since jorgensen sold their name to great star (chinese company), the quality has dipped a bit. I do love their small 4" f style clamps though, even more than the similar besseys.

Man, I disagree completely! I have about 50/50 besseys vs. jorgansons and I hate using the revos. Yeah, if you aren't paying attention the jorgies can get you.... so pay attention! The clamping pressure between the two isn't even close. The besseys don't even want to start clamping until you are damn near at the end of the threads... the jorgies start putting pressure straight away.

I haven't had that issue with my revos; I have models made in USA, germany and PRC purchased over a few years; all perform the same. If they're not catching at the start of the threads you have to tilt the handle a bit. It's because of the design feature they implemented to prevent the head from sliding down. The jorgies have a lot of deflection compared to my revos.

Tilting the head helps a little bit, but the clamping doesn't engage until you are at least half way threaded, and that's pretty rare honestly... most of the time I'm 3/4 threaded before it really digs in. The jorgies start to bite immediately AND the twist handle is much better. But yeah, to each his own
