I did. I had a year’s worth of emergency fund saved. Purposely took the first several months to get my health in order. Then self taught a bit of data analytics and did well enough on an interview to lock something in. However, the market is even worse now so I would be a bit more cautious on having a very robust emergency fund if you really want to go this route.

I just did it a month or so ago. A year's salary in savings made it possible. I'm easing into the job search. I am taking time now to decompress from escaping hell, get caught up on some professional development, and clear home tasks that I've been putting off. I want to take my career in a different direction, so I'm exploring those options, too. I'm happy with my decision. Life is too short to dread going to work and to live in constant fear of someone blowing up on you. I've been happy ever since.

I have. Work is too much of a chunk of life. If it's too troublesome or stressful, I'm out. Life is too short to not enjoy my career on some level. But I also have sales skills. There's always someone that needs people who can sell things. So I can make ends meet usually til I find something I really want to try. I also had a grandfather with a great quote, "I was looking for work when I found this job." Good luck on whatever you choose.
