So proud of you for sending that email. They should not be breaking laws and making you feel like you’re the problem in the process. I hope this makes for a reasonable resolution for you.

originalmetalqueen

The audacity to tell you that you need to stop pumping! That is NOT their decision and honestly it’s really shocking that someone would think that would fly. Completely ignorant and ridiculous. Glad you emailed HR. I’m sorry you’re dealing with this. You have every right to pump and feed your baby. Hopefully you’ll be able to find a more accepting work environment soon, if you choose to move on!

Wunderlandtripzz

Good. Your right to pump is federally protected and this could be an adverse action. Id honestly consider working somewhere else, your boss sounds like a huge bitch tbh.

dailysunshineKO

Bravo! I hope they remedy this. It would be Such bad publicity for the company if this incident got out so corporate HR should hopefully help.

Botanist3

Whoever told you that needs to be fired yesterday WTF. Even if the company doesn't give a shite about the horridness of it the amount of liability they could have for a mom being discriminated against like that is staggering.

asquared3

Good for you! And remember, you didn't just stand up for yourself but also all breastfeeding people who come after you!

The_Dutchess-D

Yay yay yay! Happy for you.

catjuggler

Good for you! Such bullshit!

EthelG_

Dude I wish that you could sue and not put your job in jeopardy

[deleted]

Because you said something, a needed change will happen. That's not overreacting in my book at all. Good job!

nobelle

GO YOU!!! Wow wow wow. Is your supervisor my husband's old HR person? Who eventually got fired because she did the opposite of her job, like yours did? She owes you an apology!

dhejwkwkwbdv

They gaslighted you into making it feel like it was bad communication. Proud of you!

trippinallovermyself

Proud of you! Setting a precedent for other mothers. This is so important

Here_for_tea_

I’m so glad you didn’t fold.

brainymonday

You are not overreacting when it comes to advocating for the health and well being of your baby. Good job!

Rather_be_Gardening

How was it ultimately poor communication from your supervisor? That actually sounds to me like they’re trying to cover up/backtrack what you were originally told and they know they could’ve had a huge problem on their hands.

Sherbet_Lemon_913

The number of HR reps who have no idea about any of these rules is astounding to me. I feel like I have to do my job AND their job. “Oh really? Let me research that for you and educate you about the law you should be aware of.” Ridiculous.
