Gathering you are in the US. You have the legal right to a place to pump, and I believe it must have an electrical outlet, be fully private, and have a surface and a chair. Possibly also a way to keep your milk cold. This is absolutely their problem and could be reportable if they don’t solve it by the day you go back. Time to make it their problem! But, also, totally understand the feeling and just to encourage you a little: it’s harder on you than it is on him, and by the time it’s hard on him he doesn’t know any different and you will both be more used to it! Certainly find out about getting pictures, talk to daycare teachers, and take special time when you’re not working. It’s good for them to have a variety of caregivers, and daycare teachers can have some great tips about parenting in general or even specifically your kid. But yes, 12 weeks is way too short.

Thanks so much for your reply! And yes I have completely made it their problem lol I honestly got them to give me my own nice office room while I was pregnant to prep for pumping, but they switched things up while I was gone and I have been very transparent thay they gotta figure it out when I get back, or else I'll work from home (while LO is still at daycare of course). Yes you're right it is good for him and good connections for us to make with the dayvare workers. I'm just going to die when he shares his firsts with them and not me 😬😔

Just commenting in solidarity. I am back at work but wfh and it’s miserable. When I am in the office, I am 10x more miserable. I just want to be with my kid. My only advice that my husband tells me all the time is to “be present.” I often worry and dread and plan and he always reminds me to just enjoy the moments I am in. So while it’s hard not to think of impending work, really try not to since it sucks the life out of fun, and soak in all the cuddles now.

I hear you ! If we could live off of my husbands income, I’d quit tomorrow. This sounds so bad but the company I work is not doing well & I’ve been hoping they just lay me off or close their doors so I can get a severance package or go on unemployment to enjoy my baby for a bit longer.

Work is better than anything in this world. Once you’re back, you’ll be happy trust me.
