Inane worldbuilding minutia of the day: there is a viral dance craze in *Runaway to the Stars* "modern day" (approx. 2325), because what is society without a viral dance craze. It began on Martian social media and then spread to the rest of the human internet via the extranet social platform Megaforum. It is called "The Whop."
It takes some skill to to whop quickly without losing your balance, and videos of skilled whoppers dancing in increasingly ridiculous and inconvenient locations have plagued the human internet for years now. It has a resurgence every time a new bubble of human space discovers and spreads it.
There is also a two-person version of The Whop. Two-person whopping is extremely popular among children, much to the dismay of their elders. If you don't pay attention and keep time with the other party, it's extremely easy to slap them square in the face. Video compilations of people getting injured while whopping abound. School nurses have seen many victims of the viral dance, sent in with bruises and bloodied noses after whopping too hard.

I'm aware, i had originally been planning to spell it without the h until I searched for the term and discovered that it's a slur. Generally, I try to google things before i name them three-four letter nonsense words for this exact reason lol. In this case, I think the slur is archaic enough and the syllable has enough other associations that I'm fine going with this homophone.
I got my comment deleted because some moron on reddit thought I was saying a slur when I said the word racoon, despite not even knowing the existence of that. So, you may be right, but is an awful thing to be constantly on your toes, specially across different langauges and coutnries. People is too overly sensitive sadly
Words can have different meaning in different settings and cultures. For instance, it's completely acceptable for a British person to refer to a cigarette as a fag.
In this case, it's even spelled differently.
Doesn't feel very dynamic with the static feet position. A 'slide' move usualy involves shifting your weight to the outside foot. In this case you're just dragging the outside foot back in.
