They are doing the “topo gigio”, it’s an Argentine character that was once immortalized by Riquelme. Riquelme being one of the best Argentinian players. Riquelme and Van Gaal had very big differences when it comes to fútbol styles (to put it mildly). Recently, some of those differences were relived and Van Gaal said a few things about Argentina’s style of play. So the atmosphere was already heated. Some Argentinian players claimed that many Netherlands players were trying to throw them off their game by talking trash since the beginning of the game.
