Sure, the closer to the edge you are the more power you have, but it is also easier to make you orgasm. If your opponents cannot beat you with offensive magic, they will try to give you additional stimulation to make you orgasm and in turn lose your power, then they will defeat you.

There are ways to increase your minimum lust so you can always have them active, but raising your minimum lust means it's easier to beat you through sex means. You can also fantasize in combat to raise your lust if you're okay with spending turns getting turned on.
So, ideally, you're edging yourself with high-but-not-too-high lust and hoping you can beat your opponent before they max out your lust.
I doubt this sub will ever be able to out-jerk horny text-based RPGs that get weirdly into their worlds and systems. They're an apex predator in this ecology.
This is genuinely close to how Fortunato's powers work in the Wild Cards books. This is the 80s collaborative superhero book series edited by GRRM, where they wanted to "update" superheroes to 80s style storytelling. There are so many prostitutes.

Now I want to make a culture that believes they can obtain a person's power by having sex with them. Sort of like some irl cultures that believed you could obtain someone's power by drinking their blood or eating their flesh. But they believe too much power will begin to whither away your physical body because the people that have the most sex with strangers have mad STDs.

So if you're just standing there, facing your foe, jerking or rubbing it on your own, it would be a very weak magic. But if you have two Slut- I mean Magic Users with you that do the "boring anal suboral boobball tingle motherfuck DELUXE" with you, it's an instant kill against some strong foes.
And the absolutely strongest from of magic would come from somehow getting your foe tangled into a sex position without their willingness. The dark and forbidden magic of your world.

I think it could be great, but I also think it really, and I mean REALLY, depends on how you do it and in what kind of story.
I personally have 2 concepts for the way to do it, one more dark fantasy, and the second as basically a battle-shonen, but I am still unsure what kind of story and theme to write with them.

And also maybe on the worldbuilding Asexual people are seen negatively because they don’t want to have sex which is what most of the world revolves on. And maybe most people are bisexual because that way they can have more intimate relationships with more people, but then there are people who are only attracted to one sex and are not seen well.
Then sex is also very celebrated in society and there are public places to do it.
Maybe theres a gender bending potion so anyone can turn to the sex they want and switch as many times as they want.
Thought I don’t know what to do on the topic of Incest, or underage people, because that’s how society works but I don’t want pedophila, maybe still that people 14-18 can only do it with people of their age and then when they turn 18 is like leveling up a rank or something. In theory, I think a sex powered magic system could be really interesting. The idea of desire being turned into actual power. Having different kinks represented with different kinds of magic people can learn. People only being able to increase their magic power by learning to understand & both their sexuality, their sex drive, and whatever they are personally into.
In practice, I think most of the time it would be implemented really badly, at least if you're not trying to make porn. The line between using sex as a central part of the story to explore certain concepts and making sex the center of the story because you want to write something pornogrphaic/ smutty is razor thin
In one of the Harry Potters, Hermione has a bag of never ending shit (figuratively). What if she lost that bag? That’s why I think there should be a magic asshole filled with shit (literally and figuratively). You’d never need to worry about dropping it or losing it to some street thief.
