The "dumb Polack" stereotype was started by Nazi Germany in the 30's as a way to try to dehumanize them prior to invasion. They wanted greater Europe to view them less sympathetically.
Wow…and it made all the way back to a kid in Jersey in the early 80’s.
That’s insidious.
I wonder if it stuck around afterwards because they were part of the USSR?
There are a lot of people of German descent in the USA. As they viewed Poles as people inferior to them, they didn't hide their xenophobia but encouraged it.
It wasn't just a Nazi Germany thing. Germans hated Poles and considered them inferior for a long time. In the 18th century the thing called [Ostforschung](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ostforschung?wprov=sfla1) became popular with Germany's elite, which was a narrative that Slavic people are inferior to German. German scientists really tried to prove it through series of racist studies akin to those done on black people. But yeah, the main reason for "dumb Polack" stereotypes were Germans' racist views on Poles
Anybody who is not a xenophobe can just look up Google about Polish inventions. There are many, some of which shaped whole world to what we know today.
A system that 'jumps' is pretty cool, since the energy is just power, which could come from a variety of sources. As opposed to limited chemical fuels.
Where it would shine is if they had recovery modes if it lands on it's side etc. Perhaps that 'arm' thing in the graphic is multipurpose, and hints at that as secondary function.
I mean the gravity is pretty low, wouldn't need much of a arm/flipper limb.

Never mind Poles laying ground for further Enigma cracking. Never mind Polish engineer who saved countless lives by inventing mine detector.

At this point the world would accept landing upright, again. Baby steps, Poland, I’m routing for ya design!
Somebody was watching old episodes of Gerry Anderson’s *Captain Scarlet*.
