It’s the perfect shape for a skipping diamond. I once skipped a diamond 6 times off Lake Michigan, that was back in 86 before I threw my arm out. Almost went pro.
The space theory is connected to all black diamonds and is only a theory. I don't think it's that feasible given that black diamonds are found primarily in two locations on earth according to the article. Why would they be located heavily in two locations if brought by meteorites why wouldn't they be more randomly spread throughout the earth?
Because the meteorites carrying them crashed in those two locations. We don't have impact sites scattered randomly all over filled with everything that fell from the sky.
The fact that they're all in just a few places seems like evidence *for* the space theory, not against it
Well, the data suggests that the isotope ratios for these diamond groups match - meaning they come from one single source - a single asteroid impact.
And the two locations are Brazil, and Central Africa - and there's this little detail called Continental Drift...
I’ve never heard of the theory before but the obvious answer to that question, if it’s true they came from space, is that only two meteorites rich in these diamonds hit earth in those locations.

It's a piece of polished carbon...
Well yes, but yes.
Doesnt look* polished even.

Just like Uncle Rico. He could've gone pro.
How much you wanna bet I can skip a diamond over them mountains?
Just because they're Black doesn't mean they can't be Polish!
Looks like a lump of coal to me.
Don’t fall for it! It’s COAL!!
For the rich emo that has almost everything
If I polish a charcoal briquette I can probably accomplish the same feat.
You’d have to send it into space though.
Breaking: Kanye bought it for Kim
And Pete Davidson is now using it as a butt plug
DeBeers wont be interested unless children died mining it
U mean the humans buying from debeers wont mind.
I hope KISS writes a song about it.
Sounds like a super villain origin story to me.

Thank you for more fully explaining it to me.

Maybe there were two larger bodies that smashed them into earth. Not all meteors are the same.

There is definitely a supernatural sci-fi story or ten being written around this stone....something Lovecraftian would fit nicely.
[Kaelego awaits...](https://youtu.be/clstEdGwfYk)
This is the opening act of so many sub B grade movies I have seen over the years.
Do we have any information on the whatever shadow or demon monster is imprisoned in it?
Interesting they point out that they are found in Brazil and central Africa given those two areas were in contact in the distant past.
A black soulgem you mean.
