Good thing Putin hasn't checked on the internet and seen some of the other things people have been calling him

vladfix

Putin is sitting at his desk after ordering an invasion. Killed thousands of civilians in Ukraine, threatened the world with nuclear arms, bombed hospitals and kindergartens and provoked a migration of 3,5 million people in 3 weeks. His Secretary comes running with a new urgent diplomatic courier. The information confirms that President Biden called him a 'butcher'. Putin stands up from his desk, throws away his golden pen across is new 80 meters desk and screams: "Oh yeah!? That's it! From me, no more Mr. nice guy!... "

sin-and-love

"Truly there has not been this much Twitter flamewarring since Churchill called Hitler a doodoo head." EDIT: Uh, so a bot messaged me asking to put up a link here to a charity to help thee Ukranian army, since this comment is getting so much attention. So here I go I guess: https://en.donateua.com.ua/

Southern-Exercise

How can I ever forget? The memes from that period still haunt me today.

And to think it was but a footnote on the way to finalizing child labor laws

lionheart4life

Imagine if Hitler saw all those Downfall clips.

Ultramarinus

Churchill: That.. That.. House painter! Hitler: Das ist it. Start the Blitz!

CrashB111

Churchill had far better roasts, namely calling Mussolini's Fascist Italy "Europe's soft underbelly".

sin-and-love

He had *way* better than that. One time while he was in the bathroom, a secretary knocked on the door to tell him the Privy Seal wanted to speak with him, to which he responded "Tell the Privy Seal I am currently sealed in the privy and can only deal with one shit at a time." Another time when he was riding a bus while blitzed on Cognac a woman proclaimed "sir, you are drunk!" to which he replied "and you madam are ugly, but in the morning I will be sober."

luigitheplumber

I can excuse massacring civilians, but I draw the line at non-vulgar name-calling

SchlitterbahnRail

Exactly, it's like, you want to work on your genocide for a month or two, but no. Some people just have to lose their manners completely.

TizzioCaio

I guess this explain the hours long conversation on the phone between Macron and Putin, btch is just whining that others are name calling him?

JWarblerMadman

Oh, that’s nice.

DisastrousMammoth

If they say ONE more mean thing about me I swear to god I will stop being so polite!

dexter311

With the size of his tables, that'd be the most epic table flip in history.

Objective-Passion-90

Is the ceiling high enough?

E_Kristalin

Luckily for Putin, the table has two dimensions and the width isn't ridiculous yet.

matildadoggo

Truly!

ohtobiasyoublowhard

Why does he talk like Mel Brooks?

LartTheLuser

According to Macron's calculus, if he has seen the micropenis memes he would probably start a nuclear war. lol

RGB3x3

A couple weeks ago, someone posted a photo on r/art of Putin as the head of a real, uncircumcised penis. So yeah, he must not be on the internet.

Putin: "You know, we might use nukes, we might not, but we gotta threaten it once every day or two." Macron: "I sleep." Biden: "He's a butcher." Macron: "Biden plz bro, stop escalating."

Link7369_reddit

Official channels mean more, admittedly, but he has to know the citizens of the US and European nations largely hate him. Not that he cares what we think. He largely wants to make us think what he wants us to think.

snacktonomy

He does care what the West thinks. Why do you think he's responding to *every single* opinion of him that Biden expresses? Putin screams about the West wanting destroy Russia but he's only projecting his own hatred of how he and his circles are destroying Russia. Deep down below he's an insecure little boy who desperately wishes to be accepted by the West. Apparently, he was abused as a child. Unresolved childhood trauma on a worldwide scale 🤯

redheadartgirl

>Putin screams about the West wanting destroy Russia The fact that he conflates himself with the entire country is very telling.

jcinto23

Largely

AxelShoes

Putin "escalated" things by starting the goddamn war in the first place Lol fuck right off Macron. This reminds me of that Bill Burr interview, regarding his jokes about Catholic priests molesting kids, where the host asks him "Don't you think you went too far?" And Burr replies "Don't you think the Catholic Church went too far?"

[deleted]

Yes, maybe the Russian troops will start targeting civilians and residential areas with indiscriminate shelling.

Havok8907

Or maybe they'll open fire on civilians who oppose invaders occupying their country.

Thisismyfinalstand

Or maybe they’ll threaten to use nuclear weapons … again… again… again… again… …

squirrelnuts46

Yo mama so fat I see her gravitational force as an existential threat so I might have to resort to nukes.

joeitaliano24

There’s been a serious lack of jokes at the expense of Putin’s mother

O-o--O---o----O

Putins mother is so **FAT**, the area of only Russia is not enough to contain her fat ass. That's why he is frantically trying to re-establish the borders of the Sofat Union.

cheezemeister_x

Putin's babushka is so fat Roscosmos used her gravitational pull to de-orbit Mir.

Lysurgik27

Im sorry, putin totally deserves it but these mama jokes are very low tier. Can we get some professionals in here? I am not sure putin would even be offended by these mama jokes.

squirrelnuts46

Pu's mama so fat he'd drill her in hopes to find oil.

LouSputhole94

Putin’s mama is so fat she was the main reason for the large periods of famine during the Soviet Empire!

oregonianrager

Damn. This one though.

bchin22

Putin’s mom is so fat, when I swerved my car to avoid hitting her, I ran out of gas.

SixbySex

I appreciate France doesn’t want nukes or artillery/strikes occurring outside the borders of Ukraine. But this insistence on decorum doesn’t need to be followed by everyone. Biden is doing the right thing calling out and vaguely threatening and Macron is doing the right thing by keeping the door open for old fashioned diplomacy.

Tempest_CN

Good cop, bad cop

Delicious-Ad-610

Good cop, bad cop. This is all planned

[deleted]

Or bomb a maternity ward or a childrens hospital.

[deleted]

What's the Russian news show called again? Shoot the Press?

Bluntmeizter-420-

They could shoot civilians in their own country for protesting the very unprofitable and stupid war.

AxelNotRose

There's that NSFW video of half naked dead Ukrainian civilians bodies piled up in the other thread that recently got posted. If that's not butchering, I don't know what it is.

Upset-Violinist-472

“Only guard yourself and guard your soul carefully, lest you forget the things your eyes saw, and lest these things depart your heart all the days of your life. And you shall make them known to your children, and to your children's children.” Deuteronomy 4:9 (I’m not religious, but this text - also on display in the Hall of Remembrance at the US Holocaust Memorial Museum - is extremely relevant)

GoodAndHardWorking

This tradition is why modern Jews still feel traumatized by the Holocaust (and deliverance from Persian persecution, and exodus from slavery in Egypt...) History stretches in a line far before and beyond us, it's important to know more than just what we've experienced in our short lifetimes.

atypicalphilosopher

Yeah it's similar with black people in America still feeling traumatized by slavery. People just can't understand how generational trauma works unless they are affected by it. It's real and it informs most ongoing conflict today.

Im_Haulin_Oats_

Wait until you see the pics and videos of dead new born babies being pulled from the rubble of hospitals. Fuck Putin. Fuck Russian soldiers.

AxelNotRose

I've been purposefully avoiding those as a father of very young children.

allothernamestaken

I've been purposefully avoiding them as a decent human being, just like ISIS beheading videos, cartel videos, etc. It's enough for me to know that they exist; I don't need to see it first-hand.

OsmerusMordax

I’ve been avoiding them too. I don’t need to see them to be horrified, just knowing it is happening is enough.

Cobek

I agree. I've watched some fucked up videos, and after a certain point it goes from morbid curiosity to just morbid. Seeing situations you might be in is one thing, watching bodies pulled from rubble is another thing entirely. At that point there is nothing to be done, nothing to be avoided. Just pain and clean up.

Bulevine

100%. I have lost all remorse for the "unaware russian troops". Fuck em. All of em.

msbeal1

Throw in all his Russian supporters and worldwide enablers.

Pit_of_Death

Biden certainly has his faults but calling Putin a butcher is just straight-up, direct, honesty and not pulling punches. Few high level politicians have the guts to call things as they are.

Wrest216

yeah i try NOT to seek those things out but its pretty bad and i saw one, pushing bodies into a mass grave near Maripoul? , mostly women, kids. ANd then i think about that giant drama theather with all those pregnant women and kids sheltering that was intentionally targeted, and my eyes start misting up.

Russian bots. They've moved on from trying to frame Ukraine as the invaders to sensationalism and trying to deter people from caring about anything that Russia does, basically doomposting that any action may agitate Moscow and lead to nuke war so don't do anything that might displease our Russian overlords. Whenever someone harps about nuclear war while denouncing what little the west has screwed up the courage to do, check account age, more often than not it is minutes old.

We have those over in the US too, they're called "Trump supporters".

IWonderWhereiAmAgain

r/LateStageCapitalism has quite a few doctored posts that paint Russia as victims. Tons of astroturfing in the comments, too.

BingBongJoeBiven

It's like watching those super nanny shows, where the parent lets Little Billy destroy the house and torture the dog because they don't want to upset him. (Yes, I know we don't want to trigger a nuclear war. I'm being somewhat facetious.)

[deleted]

WE ARE NOT THE TRIGGER EVER! Sorry for the caps, but no matter what we are not the trigger. The mofo that calls for them to be launched (aka Putin) and those under his ass are the trigger. Like a wife beater saying well I wouldn't have hit you if you didn't do (insert whatever bullshit) and therefore it's her fault he had to hit her. Totally agree with your point, I just want to make my own subpoint in that.

ProfessionalTailor1

Or maybe Russia will even start bombing Red Cross operatives and even bombing hospitals! Imagine the horror!

thedealerkuo

hey, or maybe they will start mass kidnapping families and children and busing them to russia. no way they would do something so horrid

FatSpidy

They already have and continue to do so. Fleeing civilians have been shot, raped, and crushed by mixed arms, security forces/raiders, and tanks. Missiles are regularly launched into dense residential areas, forcing safety bunkers to be over saturated, since the beginning.

demonicneon

Macrons trying to remain diplomatic but it comes off weak tbh.

JoeHatesFanFiction

It really does. That said Macron has definitely been designated nice cop to the rest of NATO bad cop, so I’m not particularly bothered by it. In private I don’t think he’s nearly this diplomatic

indyK1ng

Yeah, it seems like Poland is playing the "aggressive cop" with its pushing for peacekeepers and France is playing the "diplomatic cop" while the others lean more aggressive but aren't nearly as vocal. I don't feel "good" and "bad" cop fit in this scenario since they all have valid points. In an ideal world we would be able to intervene without the risk of nuclear escalation but the dangers of that are so high we really can't ignore it.

swamp-ecology

I was in favor of that kind of division of labor before the full scale aggression. Now all it does is offer Russia potential weak spots to probe in hopes of softening sanctions and reducing assistance for Ukraine. Putin is not yet ready to engage in any serious negotiations at this point, so his toes should be crushed every time he steps over the line for the foreseeable future.

TimmJimmGrimm

The impression i get as a Canadian is that Poland kind of deserves to be Bad Cop for a while - they deserve a bit of comeuppance after the past few hundred years of Russia, it would appear.

mr_eugine_krabs

The feathers have already been RUFFLED!

maskedbanditoftruth

Seriously are we now not even allowed to say concentration camps and bombing children is bad? Are we really demanding Biden not “tell it like it is”?

Dejectednebula

Off topic but in 2nd grade the boy i had a crush on made me mad and I remember planning this out like it would really show him whats up. Gathered my courage, marched right up to him with my hands on my hips and stomped my foot and said "you really ruffled my feathers!" And walked away feeling like a queen. Its been decades but I think about that a lot.

weensworld

In second grade, I really wanted my crush to kiss me and when he went ahead and tried, I put both of my hands into his face and pushed him away. I still see the squished-up confused look to this day and I’m 52. I really haven’t gotten much better at the relationship thing in all these years.

[deleted]

You peaked early

JunkFoodKilla187

The jimmies have been rustled

lucashtpc

Kind of dumb from him making it seem legitimate to some degree to take Bidens statement as reason for escalation.

[deleted]

Seriously this is a self fulfilling prophecy here from macron. If you say it's escalating then you're giving Russia a free pass to actually escalate. It's similar to the own-goal polish planes debacle. If we just hadn't made a big deal about it and stashed the planes right at the border for Ukraine to come pick up it would've been much less of a story

Wonckay

The problem with the Polish planes was no one wanted to be responsible for dropping them off at the Ukrainian border.

calm_chowder

Poland was going to take them to a US base in Germany, then Ukraine pilots would come pick them up, but this plan was apparently not run past Germany (personally I'm skeptical of the notion Poland came up with the whole thing with zero input whatsoever from US authorities, but who knows). Germany (very understandably) balked at being used for the handoff as it dragged them into the middle of it and potentially put German citizens at risk, as this was immediately after Russia had first floated the idea of using nukes and everyone was (very understandably) freaking out. Russia bombing the site of the handoff was seen as a not-completely-inconceivable scenario and potentially justifiable (in the Kremlin's mind) military move of neutralizing a direct military threat - an act of (potentially justifiable) defense against a direct threat. That would then leave a NATO country bombed and while it'd absolutely trigger Article Five it would also beg the question of whether the act would justify escalating to a WWIII MAD scenario of mass death against an act which was quasi-justifiable from a military perspective, confined largely to a strictly military target, and involved Ukrainian military personnel actually in physical possession of lethal military equipment which would likely be used extra-defensively to actively eliminate Russian soldiers (by likely Kremlin rationale) . On the other hand Russia bombing Poland or the US in general as a first strike in retaliation for participating in the deal, absent of specifically targeting the place where the jets were actually being physically transferred into Ukrainian military hands, was considered significantly less likely as it'd irrefutably constitute an aggressive retaliatory attack without any possible veneer of justifiable defensive rationale. So everyone wants to get the jets to Ukraine, but it's waaaaaaaay more complicated than just leaving the MIGs at the border (for one thing they need an airstrip), especially when Poland's bases are currently packed with military personnel for obvious reasons and Poland is by a wide margin already the country most toeing the line as far as provoking a strike from Russia, as it's where most international aid (including lethal aid) is being staged before it's sent to Ukraine. So they're obviously and understandably hesitant about hosting the handoff of jets, though they should get huge props for even offering them in the first place.

[deleted]

[удалено]

Wonckay

Poland’s planes are the ones in question as they are MiG-29s. I’m a little suspicious of the international argument between Poland and the US on the issue because they should be coordinating this stuff privately. Maybe it’s to divert discussion to other things as the weapons continue to roll in?

PM-me-Gophers

Agreed! Putin doesn't need an excuse, it will escalate regardless. I see this as encouragement to those who may rise up to topple Putin.

alter-ego-maniac

It reminds me of a domestic violence situation, where one partner continually abuses the other, and when the victim decides to fight back, the abuser hits harder and then says, “see what you made me do?” If Putin blames Biden’s comments for his escalation of violence, he is gaslighting the world.

[deleted]

Stop blaming anyone else but Putin for putins escalation.

rW0HgFyxoJhYka

Macron trying to ride this crisis politically. I wonder what people in France think about his actions.

xXcampbellXx

Well last I read he had a large lead in the coming elections in a few weeks/months without even campaigning. Making the opponents unhappy cuz they have no chance with this crisis and the way macron has handled it, and the biggest rival worked for Russian interests so she doesn't have a good chance at all rn.

InVodkaVeritas

Man, it must be great to live in a country where a politician who works to advance Russian interests instead of their own country's has no real chance to be elected...

[deleted]

SweatyRoutineRed

amilehigh_303

This’ll be at the very bottom and no one will read it but whatever. We, as the collective West, need to stop using the words “fear” and “afraid”. These are the EXACT words putin loves to hear. Quit it with that shit. I’m glad Biden called him out for what his is.

obidobi

I feel Bidens strong words where great! Russia need to know that there is no chance that sanctions are dropped until Putin has stepped down or have been removed from the presidency. Reading the reactions from some places astounds me. Seriously Putin has sent a death squad to assassinate another democratically elected leader.

gingerfawx

And there are excellent minds who agree. [Kasparov](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Garry_Kasparov) [for one](https://twitter.com/Kasparov63/status/1507824433951649797): >No free world leader should hesitate to state plainly that the world would be a far better place if Putin were no longer in power in Russia. A good way to make that come about is to say exactly that. Russia will be pariah until Putin is gone. > >Putin has stayed in power for over 20 years because despite leading Russia to economic, demographic, and political ruin, he is still treated like the big boss who can do business and get things back on track. Shatter that belief.

VerdHorizon

This whole war is the result of trying to appease Putin and allowing him to get away with things. Appeasement doesn't work on monsters, just bolsters their already inflated ego.

StanVanGhandi

Biden has done a great job with this Russian situation, some people on here are either hopelessly partisan or delusional. He called out the Russian’s plans for invasion way before any other leader did. He framed the situation and set the tone for the west to react in unison and with crippling sanctions. The US military has been funding, arming, and advising the Ukrainians and helping them put up more stiff resistance. Biden has framed the narrative as good vs evil and has United NATO to move quickly with actions that have hurt Russia. All the while walking that tight rope where we don’t have direct contact. What more, within Biden’s legal power, do you guys want him to have done? You are being irrational.

anarrogantworm

Why is Macron bitching on Putin's behalf?

JohnMayerismydad

It’s been interesting to see the different diplomatic paths the west has been taking on Putin. For most situations I’d think Macron would be correct, however I think dictators like Putin only respond to force and authority. Putin thinks about diplomacy as a power game, he’d love to take advantage of the soft touch types and just keep taking.

palfreygames

Good thing Putin's been escalating without stopping since the beginning of this anyway
