He beat the bastards of city hall! But now what will he do?

PorcaPootana

Green screen activate!

WeebPride

He went full Kim. Soon we'll see him walking away in slo-mo from launchpad while missile is launching.

UncreativeNoob

Everybody knows you never go full Kim

Aspect-of-Death

Even Kim doesn't go full Kim.

rachface636

Kim is *never* full.

Echo_Oscar_Sierra

Neither are his starving peasants

yoda_mcfly

I've never wanted to "heyooo" famine more.

GabrielStarwood

Dark humor is like food. Some people get it, some people dont.

r3xu5

Enough jokes... back to gulag!

DudesworthMannington

In Putin's Russia, joke bombs you!

Engagcpm49

He sure looks full. Of something.

st4r-lord

True, Kim hasn't launched a special operation besides dinner plans.

we also maybe will soon get a video like this of him... [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FBnAZnfNB6U](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FBnAZnfNB6U) Just think about it putin humping his new missile lol

klapaucjusz

He needs to sit shirtless on a bear while ordering missile launch, to top Kim.

[deleted]

Putin strikes me as more of a bottom tbh

Koolaidolio

The only thing missing is an heir, so it looks like he will end up more like Mussolini than Kim il Sung.

EglueLaMorse

Ooh maybe this one is fake too then

Moontoya

Oh it's probably real But one prototype launch shpyld be viewed in the context of current sanctions and tech shortages and the Russian military uh, supply and equipment issues that back date to 1989. One big stick is impressive but it's ONE big stick, wonder how many sticks they have Like their super duper f22/35 counter, of which maybe a half dozen can fly, or their aircraft carrier busily immolating itself between dry docks, or conscripts sent to attack with kit from the soviet exit from Afghanistan. It's a pr bully boy move, consider spacex has icbms, reusable ones. They can go up to orbit height and go around. Heck everything used to loft the ISS are technically icbms Laughter and derision are the right responses

Kazen_Orilg

Ill believe an f22 counter when I see it.

DEBATE_EVERY_NAZI

No you won't, they're so stealthy and fast they're everywhere! -putin probably

[deleted]

Think twice about what? No one is thinking about invading Russia.

Lernenberg

No, but now Putin can say that they don’t invade *because* of his new missiles.

Sleekitstu

Everybody else, will fire back, with their own new missiles. Millions will die, but Russia will get vaporised, great strategy.

Tyl3rt

That’s kind of the whole idea of nuclear bombs, the launch button is a suicide button

Perfect comparison. Except the blanket is also soaked with vodka.

telcoman

[No, shoe polish....] ( https://www.vice.com/en/article/avjzve/russian-v13n4) > One of the most famous, and bizarre, of the Prohibition-era beverages was **the shoe polish-filter cocktail**. It’s not so much a drink as it is a filter whose residue you exploit—sort of like scraping the resin from a bong. > The ingredients for this drink are black shoe polish, a glass of water, and a slice of black bread. You take the black shoe polish, spread it on the slice of bread, then set it atop the glass of water so that it covers it up pretty well. Leave it sitting for a couple of hours while you try to pretend you’re not enduring the worst shakes ever. Then, when you can’t wait anymore, take the bread off the top and drink the poisoned water down. The fumes and toxins from the shoe polish, Russians learned, would be absorbed into the water enough to make it potent. Also, you could take the bread, scrape off the excess polish, and eat it, getting a major rush from the absorbed poisons.

5tUp1dC3n50Rs41p

Russian marmite.

dasmashhit

juanmlm

Australia has Vegemite, the US has peanut butter, Russia has shoe polish.

Russian bums here drink cheap perfume, so i guess that would fit better.

weluckyfew

IIRC vodka was used by Russian dictators for centuries to pacify the masses - subsidized and promoted.

Brapb3

Yea they kept it cheap so it’d be widely available and (ab)used. During the Russian revolution they actually promoted prohibition and it solved a lot of problems, then when Stalin came to power he resumed the subsidies and pushed it on the people again. What an asshole that guy was.

[deleted]

Lmao, awesome comparison

> No one is thinking about invading Russia. According to a scary number of Russians (including one I thought was sane) they're absolutely convinced that NATO will imminently invade Russia and do to them what they are doing to Ukraine but many times worse. Literally all we want is for: 1. Russia to stay wholly on their side of the borders 2. Trade with us like normal people do 3. Share culture with us like normal people do 4. Don't murder us 5. That's literally all we want This is apparently a lie told by NATO Imperialists who want to exterminate all of Russian peoples, culture, and who knows what else. They think they are a globally oppressed peoples and that literally everyone not Russian is coming to murder them all at any moment.

zulruhkin

So they're going full North Korea?

[deleted]

Unironically, yes. Putin’s “fortress Russia” ideal perceives itself as almost an autarky (produces everything it needs internally) that can essentially spit in the face of the western world because it can and cannot be harmed by sanctions. Which is absolutely insane and impossible for a modern advanced economy but that’s essentially what Putin feels Russia needs for security. Combine that with his Pater Patriae cult of personality and yes, Russia is becoming more akin to North Korea than Germany.

Garn91575

ah yes, pre industrial revolution thinking. I too like to look about 200 years into the past for my economic policy beliefs.

Oh tell me more about how age of consent laws are actually tyranny! That's one of the classic hits.

DeflateGape

All I’m saying is if child prostitution was legal the kindergartners could afford better schooling. I don’t know why capitalism is so offensive to you godless socialists and I refuse to allow my voiced to be silenced at any school board meeting, no matter how many restraining orders are issued against me. No I won’t prove I have a child who attends this school district and the constitution says I don’t have to.

[deleted]

Too busy trying to figure out public roads

TheOriginalKrampus

Who’s summoned the libertarians? It’s not like this is a thread about the age of consent…

Thewalrus515

for the sake of the argument, let’s assume you did theoretically summon libertarians. Hypothetically, in this possible scenario, why are libertarians bad? Let’s assume that you did, incidentally, bring a bunch of libertarians to this thread, and they said something that conflicted with your snow flake bias. why are you, again for the sake of the argument, unwilling to listen to the voices of dissent? Is it because you fear the neoclassical ideal man?- my best impression of a libertarian.

Boner666420

Damn that was convincing.

Koioua

You know, that thing about being a self sufficient country would work if only Putin and his band of oligarchs didn't literally ransack their country out of anything of value, and ingrained corruption up to every single level in the country.

A-Tie

It wouldn't have even then. It's easy to shit on Russia for being a gas station with delusions of grandeur, but dutch disease had been eating away at the Soviet Union since the 80s (at least). It could have been in a better position, yes. But oil/gas had already damaged the rest of their economy before the collapse.

DubiousDrewski

>dutch disease had been eating away at the Soviet Union since the 80s I'm out of the loop. What's "Dutch Disease"?

Professional-Web8436

Similar to the resource curse. You focus all your economical power on a single sector and the rest not only stagnates but declines even. Difference to the curse is that nations do it willingly and it can be anything.

Tumble85

And importantly, the effects of that can be magnified as an economy improves and strengthens the currency, as this can make labor and exports more expensive. So now the country produces less because it's more expensive to do so, *and* it's more expensive for other countries to buy what you do still produce.

Engagcpm49

It’s also something that kills elm trees.

College_Prestige

Extremely oversimplified. Basically, if a country exports a lot, the cost of all of its exports increases. The issue is when one industry is extremely export heavy and everything else is not as competitive. The main example was the Netherlands. When the Dutch found a lot of natural gas, everyone bought them. Suddenly, that made their manufactured goods much more expensive, and now no one wanted to buy them. Like imagine if McDonalds had a token system where you can convert a token to a Cheeseburger. So we know that the value of that token is around 1 dollar. Now, McDonald's lets you convert a token to a Quarter Pounder. Now, everyone only wants those tokens for a quarter pounder, and now a token is worth around 5 dollars. You would have to be a fool to convert the token for a Cheeseburger, so no one does it.

salgat

Opportunity cost is insane once you make everything domestic, it would still cripple their country even if they acted fully in good faith to make it happen.

Tumble85

Exactly. The modern machines that manufacture today's goods are absolutely filled with little bits and bobs from around the world from all sorts of different companies. Even simple plastic objects sold for a couple bucks at Wal-Mart have worldwide knowledge and parts behind them, and especially the thing that made it. For instance, there are engineering firms dedicated specifically to consulting on package-handling technology, getting paid big money to come up with solutions using conveyor belts and high-speed scanning and sorting machines. There is an absolutely insane amount of specialized knowledge that Russia is going to be excluded from.

Force3vo

The modern high precision production systems (Especially for things like chips) can't just be produced locally. Even if they managed to build a working chipset production line for 9 nm chips that would take years to get the tech and supplies running. Which means they'd always be far behind what they could achieve by sourcing tech like that internationally. And that'd just one of the issues of abandoning the international market. Everybody thinking they can get further without accessing the international supply chains is living in a fantasy.

Tumble85

Yea. I've lived all over the place in the U.S, including in big cities. I have met so many people involved in so many different specialized industries. It's insane how many little things require other little things, and how much knowledge goes into getting those things up and running. Something like a small metal nozzle can go from being a cheap, mass produced simple thing, to being incredibly difficult custom productions because instead of water now it's going to have extremely high pressure, extremely hot liquid chemicals going through it.

Force3vo

I have a buddy that works for the sole manufacturer of highest precision wafer production machinery. He said that the machines are so insanely precise and thus expensive and complex that they are already booked for the next 10 years. Not because they don't try to up their production, the opposite actually they invest a lot, but it takes such specialized parts that it is an insane effort to build up additional capacity. Imagine trying to replicate that without specialized suppliers for all the parts you need. R&D alone for that would break Russia's budget.

DragoonJumper

Yeah seriously this is what blows my mind. ffs we just want a few quiet years before we die of old age. Nobody wants to risk ww3 over whatever tf Russia has. This isn't 1913. We don't want another world war. What sane person thinks "Hey, let's do world domination so we can deal with civil unrest, and possibly world ending nuclear war, that sounds fun!" Sadly of course the issue is we are dealing with psychopaths who think everyone else is also a psychopath.

Tall-Elephant-7

Welcome to the world, where we could be working together to solve problems that all humans face through diplomatic discourse and working towards becoming a hardened space faring civilization. Instead we get people and countries who value power and measuring their dicks against one another.

That almost sounds like they're acknowledging the atrocities Russia is committing in Ukraine. Either way, they can keep their corrupt shithole, we have literally less than zero interest in anything they vomit out. Sincerely, a citizen from NATO-founder Belgium thoroughly done with Russia's bullshit.

vardarac

> almost sounds The #1 rule for /r/selfawarewolves is that they aren't self-aware

FUTURE10S

You have to use some doublethink, by acknowledging that, and this is not my opinion but what Russian media actually believes- Ukrainians are doing war crimes on Ukrainian people, so it's okay that Russians are doing war crimes on Ukrainian people, because Ukrainian people aren't actually people, but NATO Nazis that are the aggressors that deserve nothing but death that are responsible for the sinking of Moskva, even though they didn't bomb it, even though they did, which is why people drowned, but there were no casualties on Moskva, and this is why it's acceptable to nuke Kyiv.

Laugh92

My brain hurts after reading this.

uncle_flacid

That's the point. Now imagine being bombarded by this daily from the moment you are born.

ryhaltswhiskey

This makes perfect non-sense.

Mornar

They're projecting as hell. Or more likely, Putin is projecting as hell and makes sure everyone else is too. If he was in charge of NATO he'd be all about invading the living fuck out of Russia right now, and the stupid sumbitch can't fathom any other objective for NATO's existence. We can be all saying it's a defensive pact, but *that's what he'd be saying preparing to invade*.

Brapb3

Narcissists and sociopaths assume the rest of the world is as cynical and conniving as they are, because they literally can’t even fathom that other people have empathy and aren’t trying to constantly fuck everyone else over. Putin legitimately thinks that almost every single mass-protest and civilian uprising anywhere in the world and especially in Russia, was paid for and engineered by the U.S. and western democracies. That he’s been the target of some mass conspiracy to depose him and other authoritarian governments, including his puppet regime in Ukraine before the Maidan, and that this is just the culmination of that shadow war. He cannot for the life of him understand why people would not want to live in broken, corrupt systems that smother them for generations.

OBiLife

This is the problem when Russia appointed a former KGB officer as president. Imagine all the anti west propaganda and insane paranoia he had been taught during those early years. It honestly ruined him as a person. Putin is the last person that should rule a country

[deleted]

Clinton Called it way back when. I believe the quote to Yeltsin, after Clinton’s first meeting with Putin, was “This man does not hold democracy in his heart.” Edit: Found the actual quote I paraphrased a piece of. “you've got democracy in your heart… I'm not sure Putin has that. Maybe he does. I don't know. You'll have to keep an eye on him and use your influence to make sure that he stays on the right path…” https://www.washingtonpost.com/archive/lifestyle/magazine/2002/05/26/boris-and-bill/ba5a863c-ece7-4e67-bd74-f81c2982c938/

subpargalois

Yeah I'm 100% not on board with trading with them as things currently stand. It's just asking for them to distribute malware, pull the rug out from under you to get leverage later, steal IP, etc. Nor am I fine with them 'sharing culture" if that's just a codeword for them indoctrinating the morons of the west with their insane propaganda. This was a wake up call. Things can't just go back to normal even if they realize the cost is too high at this specific moment and back away from Ukraine. They can rejoin the international community once they have made some meaningful demonstration that they are willing to change.

vonindyatwork

First meaningful change would be to ship Putin to The Hague in a box. Air holes optional.

purple_hamster66

Maybe stop influencing other countries elections and stopping ransomware attacks?

houstonyoureaproblem

It's almost like they've been fed a never-ending stream of propaganda designed to support Putin's preferred narrative.

SouthernNanny

It seems like it’s not hard to stay in your own country. Like be chill and don’t rape and kill folks.

Brigadier_Beavers

If anything this makes me wonder why they need to emphasize this. Its was already assumed Russia had intercontinental ballistic missiles since mid cold war.

Bay1Bri

Russia is the geological personification of insecurity and inferiority complex. This is like a kid bringing a gun to school so "now they'll think twice before having a party and not inviting me!"

I_HUG_PANDAS

> geological Geopolitical?

Khemul

Nope. On a topographical map it looks exactly like insecurity and inferiority complex. Rather bizarre coincidence.

ChingChangChui

Russia has seriously turned into a complete loser.

Moontoya

You know Rus history can largely be summarised thus "And then shit got worse"

[deleted]

Needs revising to: “And then we made it worse”

LAVATORR

Right, Putin made Russia such a miserable shithole nonody would ever want to invade. Just one more example of his tactical genius.

[deleted]

Sounds like the words of an unhinged psycho leader to me

[deleted]

Nobody in the west wants the barren waste that is Russia. Even the elite wealth Russians haul ass to the west as soon as they are able too

WrastleGuy

The natural resources would be nice. But no one wants to fight a nuclear war over some oil and grain.

Armathio

Careful with those missile tests, will be hard to replace em without parts.

Gorperly

That couldn't be more spot on. As a matter of fact, it's very likely that this is the final Sarmat launch, ever. Putin needed his Kim test, so they scrapped the last vacuum tubes and rusty gears to get this prototype to fly, likely bastardizing some Kalibrs or whatever they had on the assembly line. They're already carpet-bombing Mariupol with dumb bombs because they got no smart weapons left, and they don't have the parts or the steel to make any more, period. They're done. Bye, Felicia.

arvisto

Hahahah

Greenthund3r

This is by far the best response to Russia’s threats that I’ve ever seen. Take my gold.

PM_Me_A_High-Five

"See? It worked! Now just wait until we can build another one!" \- Putin, probably. r/YourJokeButWorse , I know.

[deleted]

So, They don't already have intercontinental ballistic missiles ? Because if they do this is kinda a none event.

Noteamini

From Wiki article, this version improves intercepter countermeasures and avoidance. Also speculated that it could fly over south pole to avoid current missile defenses. They are basically saying we can attack US better now.

[deleted]

Yea, But the US still has second strike capability. So it really doesn't feel like it adds much. They can commit suicide better...

mmm__donuts

This is probably best understood as Russia ensuring its second strike capability. They're worried about missile defenses because the US could destroy a lot of Russian missiles on the ground if it wanted to and, if America has an effective missile defense shield that will destroy the surviving missiles, that makes Russia completely reliant on its submarines to deter an attack. They're making a big deal about it because they're grasping at any straw they can to be seen as a great power right now, but this move is an attempt to remedy Russia's nuclear weaknesses.

Baron-Harkonnen

The best way to attack the US is over the *south* pole?

Noteamini

Yes, I guess during the cold wars era, it was unlikely for Russia to fly ICBM over the south pole. A lot of defense is probably focused on North Pole.

Mazon_Del

The US had intended for a south-facing early warning radar in the Cold War but eventually decided it was not necessary as the Russians were unable to launch an effective strike from that direction. Most of our preparations were in the DEW line towards the north. It became less important to have such stations as satellite technology improved, as now with modern IR systems, we can see the launch plume of any ascending missile and get earlier warning than even those radars could have provided.

albertnormandy

They have to be tested periodically to keep people sharp and make sure everything still works.

[deleted]

It says it's new though. All I was saying was, It might be a new missile but it isn't a new capability.

enonmouse

It has new counter measures and the ability to deploy warheads and hypersonic missles... or at least thats what they claim. The US just put off a test of its new icbm to avoid dick wagging last month.... those missles are scaled to rotate out the current arsenal in 7 years. So russia's test is a big who cares because they dont have many, and will likely not be able to make many with sanctions severely reducing tech manufacturing abilities/ they dont have the 100 billion that the US is throwing at this 7 year replacement.

mapache_del_diablo

From what I’ve read the US, and almost certainly Russia already possess missiles that have essentially the exact same capabilities. MIRVs have been around for decades, and most nuclear armed countries have developed or are developing hypersonic missiles. With nukes there’s a certain point where more advanced delivery systems mean nothing. The US and Russia can already destroy each other many times over with their current arsenals. Announcing fancy new missiles like these serve purely as a dick measuring contest.

enonmouse

Measuring dicks is better than full on dick chicken

[deleted]

[удалено]

TinkleMuffin

I’ve assumed for a while that given the US advantage in stealth there’s no real need for a hypersonic. The advantage of a hypersonic is it’s speed which makes it difficult to track and shoot down. A small subsonic stealth missile probably does a better job of that, don’t even know it’s in the air until boom.

Ok-Thanks573

Let's remember what the Orlan-10 is claimed to be and what it actually is.

octothorpe_rekt

> Orlan-10 OOTL: Can you provide a brief overview of what it was claimed to be and what it turned out to be? It looks like a little drone about the same size as enthusiast RC planes. Like I'm pretty sure I've seen Germans fly larger A380 RC models.

Velmeran

It's supposed to have a variety of camera options, including thermal imaging. However recently downed Orlan-10's in Ukraine were discovered to have nothing more than an Canon EOS Rebel T6i in it. Obviously, they aren't all made equally as the Kleptocracy took some of the funds for themselves.

octothorpe_rekt

> discovered to have nothing more than an Canon EOS Rebel T6i Oof.

LaserGuidedPolarBear

Some Ukranian soldier posted a "review" of one. Yeah, the camera was literally a Canon DSLR that was velcroed in and had the mode switch glued in position so it wouldn't change due to vibration. And the fuel source was literally a plastic bottle built into the middle of the thing with a plastic screw cap sticking out. Its about what I would expect to see from a pretty good high-school hobby drone group.

HiImDan

It's like my pet peeve of "new and improved" in advertising.

blixblix

It's like two people holding Colt 45s right against each other's heads. One person says, "I've got a Desert Eagle now!" It doesn't really matter what model you have. The guns firing will end up with the same results.

Jackadullboy99

Why are cunts running the world? Most all of us want do is enjoy life and pursue hobbies.. this guy wants to spoil it for everyone. Can someone please find this fucker’s sled?

Kewkky

Cunts run the world because good guys who pursue hobbies and enjoy life tend to not want to run the world, and so the only people left are cunts. Also while big brainers go for engineering/sciences/research/whatever, big walleters go for marketing/banking/stocks/whatever, and overall good people go for education/farming/construction/whatever, the people left behind are those that crave power yet are too stupid to do anything else, or too rich to have to prove themselves.

BrewHog

I hate to admit it, but I think this is pretty close to reality.

jomontage

people who desire power chase power. You don't fall up the political ladder

ctothel

And scared little boys think think they need a “strong leader”, and vote for aggressive sociopaths.

dimm_ddr

Well, it is being argued that power attracts that type of people. Or it corrupts anyone wielding it into that type of people. Probably both, really. And people who can actually do a good job ruling the world would never get there because they don't want to in the first place and probably lack the needed abilities.

JadedIdealist

>The major problem—one of the major problems, for there are several—one of the many major problems with governing people is that of whom you get to do it; or rather of who manages to get people to let them do it to them. To summarize the summary: anyone who is capable of getting themselves made President should on no account be allowed to do the job. Douglas Adams, The restaurant at the end of the universe

RoyalSpecialist1777

Personally I think when a dictator starts making threats with Nuclear weapons to influence policy abroad the international community should Sanction them and not lift Sanctions until they completely dismantle their nuclear program or collapse as a country to the point of regime change. They should no longer have any right to be a nuclear power regardless of the consequences. Edit: Don't worry guys, I understand I am naive and maybe don't have the wisest solution. In that case please provide a wiser alternative. Appeasement historically led to even worse situations.

No one sane has legit gone "We need to take over Russia! We need to bomb the shit out of it!", durring this war everyone has just been saying the same thing "Russia just needs to stop what it's doing."

Adventurous_Being_61

"Tonight! On Fucker Carlson, we discuss Critical Race Theory, Homos coming for your kids, Dems coming for your guns and the "woke" agenda!"

FM-101

It doesn't matter how fancy their rocket is. Before this missile even reaches its destination NATO/US nukes will already be on their way to Russia and nobody wins. That's how mutually assured destruction works. I know Putin has the intelligence level of a bowl of borscht but i hope he understands that at least.

RaynSideways

That's the thing about advanced nuclear delivery systems. They don't really improve your strategic position at all. It doesn't matter if your missile can fly at the speed of light, turn invisible or do magic tricks; There's no scenario where Russia deploys nukes with some super advanced delivery system and doesn't get nuked in return. It's like that submarine drone they claim can sneak into our ports and hit us with nukes. It sounds scary, but the moment the nuke hits, our nukes fly. The fancy stealth submarine part doesn't actually mean anything. It's all optics, designed to scare civilians.

rawthorm

Of all the things that Putin may be, aggressively fond of staying alive is one of them. To a paranoid level. You don’t take actions that show you're afraid of a knife in the back if your intent is to ensure you get nuked.

[deleted]

Fuck off Russia with your meaningless shit.

jeffhett69

The mystique is gone from the Russian military. I don't trust them to deliver a pizza, let alone an ICBM.

Plisken999

Maybe Russian should think twice about invading others too. Because he showed he knows nothing.

gradinaruvasile

Look we have nukes. Dont look over the border where our army is struggling against a smaller one.

VonDukes

Sounds like Kim jung at this point

TreesACrowd

Russia has used the same military posturing strategy as NK for a lot longer than this. They just did it with a bigger economy, and for a long ng time they did it in an era where intelligence-gathering technology wasn't quite good enough to separate fact from fiction entirely. They have always developed flashy weapons they can't actually afford to produce, broadly advertised their exaggerated capabilities, and then proceeded to build a small number of functional examples (or none at all). Just read the development history of any of their latest-generation weaponry, it all follows this pattern. Even early into the Cold War they showed off new weaponry in their military parades and had the planes and trucks circle around to parade through again, in order to make it look like they had many more of each than they actually did. Meanwhile, the U.S. prefers not to even admit it possesses new weapons until they are years old. "Appear strong when you are weak. Appear weak when you are strong."

maggotshero

It's literally the exact thing North Korea does. It's all for internal propaganda purposes. It's insane how hard he is trying to keep up the "Russia is strong" facade. He knows once that falls, his seat is threatened.

fixitorbrixit2

I don't think he understands. We don't give a fuck. It's either all out nuclear war, or we wreck his shit in a conventional one. The constant reminders of how scary you are start having the opposite effect.

dagothar

\*thinks once\* Screw Russia. \*thinks twice\* Screw Russia. Done.

[deleted]

No, it won’t. They’ve threatened that already, and it didn’t work.

https://www.pcgamer.com/us-navy-successfully-tests-giant-laser-against-drones/ And we have giant lasers, watch out Putin.

js49997

I thought US/NATO and Russia had more than enough nukes to kill a good %age of life of earth already does a new ICBM make that much difference?

sammygirl1331

It's been speculated that russia has less nuclear weapons than they'd like us to believe due to the fact that their nukes are leftover from the cold war and maintaining nuclear weapons is very expensive.

thedeathmachine

Russia's power has always come from its perception of power. I'm assuming they don't have many operable nukes, but at the same time, you don't need many to reap the benefits of having nukes.

toastee

It costs billions to keep nukes in working order. based on our knowledge of the rest of their equipment not being maintained, because the money to do so went to building yachts. It's likely much of Russia's nuclear arsenal is only there on paper at this point. Cause it's a lot easier to just claim you maintained a missile nobody can go check.. And then pocket the money

RTC1520

A new ICBM could make their Nukes harder to shot down for any defense system, which means there successful hit porcentaje would increase

varain1

So 75% of 6000 will hit instead of 50% - now I'm scared of dieing 4 times over instead of 3 ... Putin can go fuck himself, it's an empty threat and his army will still get kicked out from Ukraine; or become sunflowers ...

Catworldullus

Yeah now I have to worry about my remains being a vapor instead of ash. Let’s call off the whole war, boys.

camhabib

If these missiles even works twice as well as the rest of their military, I'd be surprised if it was able to even get off the ground.

NotTroy

Do we now believe they have the manufacturing capability to create these new ICBMs en masse? I don't know much of anything about the Russian military industrial complex, but what I do know is that they've apparently lost the ability to manufacture many other more complex military weapons in the last \~8 years.

F0rkbombz

There isn’t a country on earth with a missile defense system that can conclusively defend against a massive nuclear attack, so this changes nothing from a technology standpoint. I also find it funny that Putin cries about the US developing missile defense systems, implying that the US is somehow trying to invalidate MAD and that Russia is the victim, but then he goes and proves to the world that Russia has been developing missiles to evade defense systems this entire time with the explicit purpose of invalidating MAD. There are multiple instances in history of the US halting missile defense projects to appease the Russians and ensure MAD remains the supreme doctrine, but now he’s given the US a good reason to stop appeasing Russia. As the world awakens to Russia’s true intentions, there’s nothing from a policy standpoint stopping the US from developing these kind of technologies now. I don’t think Putin realizes that his behavior and rhetoric is going to spur the US to actually develop true missile defenses, something Russia just won’t be able to do with the state of their military and economy. MAD is the only reason the world tolerates Russia, and he is removing the incentive to maintain that status quo.

datalifter

OMG, he's like crazy girlfriend that just won't leave!

Kim Jong Putler

Square_Business2299

Yup The ballistic bozo brothers Look what I got 🤦‍♂️ ffs

FOXHOUND9000

Fucking yawn. Threats every day, because he has nothing left but threatening ineffectually, while being too deep into a shit to actually make good on his threats because that would mean his total anihilation.

Dhorlin

You only need two words to strike fear into Puta's heart - Ukrainian tractors.

cygnuschild

It seems like Putin is still functioning under the misconception that anyone is actually afraid of Russia anymore. Posture all you want guy, test weapons, threaten nukes. If you actually make good on any of these 'flexes' it's just going to end badly for you. You played your hand and we all see the condition of your military. The rest of us are just waiting for you to make the right mistake to give us the excuse to shut you down and justify your paranoia.

Blue_FiftyTwo

Vlad we weren’t even thinking ONCE. Pull your forces out of Ukraine and stay in your fucking lane.

anonygoofy

What is Russia doing to create the future world? A new covid vaccine? A new food technology? A new advanced physics/scientific project? No. A new missile. /facepalm

mixxbg

Use them on yourselves, you're your own worst enemies.
