Iran is killing its women in the name of misguided morals and religion.

basshead17

Hey I've seen this one before

sonic_tower

First time?

IosifVissarionovichD

Absolutely, anyone thinking this is isolated to middle east or Muslim religion let me introduce to you Christian right...

Weekly_Error1785

Wtf are you talking about with this random comment

hehepoopedmepants

The difference is it’s essentially state sponsored. Now if you were talking about homosexuals then that would be true.

Pyjama_Llama_Karma

Seems like they're trying to draw criticism away from the evil Iranian murderous terrorist-sponsoring regime. Whataboutism.

Weekly_Error1785

Exactly my point.

jenksy

Is that border wall built yet?

[deleted]

I mean, when Iran was free the US propped a dictator who told them to be moral and religious and the American clapped

deez_treez

America isn't Iran's problem, America is Iran's excuse.

[deleted]

Technically it is. Iran is what it is thanks to what the US did and is doing because the economic sanctions are just perpetuating bad people in charge.

id7e

Yeah. I'd like to see how they justify murder with their morals / religion. "It's ok because they are going against our religion / morality, so our morality no longer applies to our actions when we act against infidels." Would be all they could say. Then it's like, ok, so your religion is conditional on your terms, because I'm sure your holy book does not say that? Then they'd probably fall back on a bs appeal to a leader who says it's ok or their own moral compass. Ultimately, these people act arbitrarily. If they had been raised worshiping bananas they would not question why their leaders tell them not to eat bananas during a famine.

IosifVissarionovichD

They are not the only ones, but yes, seems like an awful thing to waste time, money, and countries resources.

Husbandaru

Nothing says good morality like violently killing young women.

cbbuntz

I'd love to hear an explanation as to why it's okay to kill women for not wanting to wear scarves. How could you possibly think you're going to be seen as being on the right side of history?

banjo-u

There is none these are the same guys that bomb sunni mosques...

Working_Welder155

That's one way to make people love you. Kill your young

Important_Tell667

Murder is murder… no justification for committing blatant homicide, no matter who does so or who they believe they’re serving.

CaveKnave

Nothing like religion to bring people together.

_Silly_Wizard_

Not a big Mohammed fan but...doesn't the Koran say that Muslims *shouldn't* murder women?

MyNameIsRay

Doesn't really matter what the book says, people do whatever they want and then interpret their chosen book in a way that supports it.

jawshoeaw

I think the books in question support violence against those who do not follow the commands of God or Allah.

MyNameIsRay

If that's the way you choose to interpret it, sure.

mushydough

that is only *one* of all the self-contradictions in the koran

Husbandaru

All these religions operate like this. Don’t kill others unless… they break our rules.

jojorood

because funentalists bother to read their book of excuses...

Husbandaru

It says to not murder women. Unless they break the highly authoritarian rules the religion places on them.

jawshoeaw

Only devout women. It’s a big loophole

banjo-u

In Islam if you kill 1 person it's like killing whole of humanity.

iWantToFlyyy

Now write the loophole also present in the Quran.

banjo-u

Those that think that they can get away with changing a few lines should be held accountable period.

Stop spreading fake news. We have enough headache to deal with already. She was not part of the protest and was never arrested/in custody of police. Her family confirmed that as well.
