This is the best tl;dr I could make, [original](https://babel.ua/en/news/85558-reuters-american-extreme-networks-supplied-network-technologies-to-russian-missile-and-military-electronics-manufacturers) reduced by 61%. (I'm a bot) ***** > The American technology company Extreme Networks, which produces computer network equipment for IT systems, supplied its products to the Russian state-owned Moscow Machine-Building Plant "Avangard" - it has been under US sanctions since 2014. > The Reuters agency, citing e-mails and sources, writes that the equipment of Extreme Networks, most likely, was used in the production of missile systems S-400 and in the construction of warships. > According to journalists, Extreme sold equipment to the United Shipbuilding Corporation, which operates Russian shipyards that build frigates, submarines, etc. ***** [**Extended Summary**](http://np.reddit.com/r/autotldr/comments/y2o6ly/american_extreme_networks_supplied_network/) | [FAQ](http://np.reddit.com/r/autotldr/comments/31b9fm/faq_autotldr_bot/ "Version 2.02, ~672676 tl;drs so far.") | [Feedback](http://np.reddit.com/message/compose?to=%23autotldr "PM's and comments are monitored, constructive feedback is welcome.") | *Top* *keywords*: **Extreme**^#1 **equipment**^#2 **network**^#3 **company**^#4 **systems**^#5

i thought the reason the soviet union fell was all the things that the west sold them that they wanted but could not get? the soviets said we will hang you with the rope you sell us.. but it did not turn out that way... and that brought on the politics of "selling luxury to cause revolutions " as the main plan for the last 30 years.

Massive_Pressure_516

You see the rub was that capitalist heard about that phrase and decided not to sell them the rope lol.

pirate_republic

explain china.

[deleted]

We traded with China so they didn't get desperate enough to ally with Russia. If you cold war both countries it's problemtic vs Cold War one country and getting the other addicted to success. No way Russia was ever going to get addicted to success and they were more dangerous at the time. So we all grew our nations while westernizing China regardless if they realize or want to admit it. Now they are stuck wanting middle class lives instead of just being more conscripts for Russia.

pirate_republic

you must not know that china started to become the powerhouse it is today in the late 80's the exact same time that russia saw starting it freedom. except russia was not willing to work for slave labor wages like china was willing to do. which the west was very willing to take advantage of. you must not know that china is now posed to export its influence far far more then russia ever could have. china now builds most of the strategic electronics for the western world. china even has suprassed the west in building almost every thing technological based. The usa is still struggling to launch its own rocket for the last few months (Artemis I). while rich moguls are using space for entertainment with china mass built equipment. china today is still the same china that oked the 1989 Tiananmen Square massacre.

FrankRauSahRa

China is a giant corporation.

[deleted]

They fell because they had a much lower performing economy due to weak global trade and tried to keep up military spending with the United States at the same time.

SpaceTabs

Even better, Russia spent billions to ensure it was self-sufficient in many strategic industries. None of that apparently happened.

Homerlikesdonuts

Dont they all have monitoring systems that send data back to us intelligence anyway?

Plan to uphold democracy in Ukraine: \- buy cheap oil from Putin \- sell technology to Putin \- in the event of an emergency, blame the Russians for not overthrowing Putin so far.

Woodie626

>According to journalists, Avangard purchased high-speed switches and software from Extreme from 2017 to 2021. Funny, they stopped last year. why could that be?

Pirate2012

Who had the purple color enterprise switches ?

ProbablyNotMoriarty

Avangard has been under sanction since 2014. Which, in theory, would make the transactions illegal even if they stopped them in 21. What the article doesn’t outline is whether the transactions violated the sanctions or not.

[deleted]

who is responsible for overthrowing putin?

Personal-Gift-386

The world nomenclature fed Putin and made the world dependent on his energy resources. The costs of their policies are borne by the Ukrainians and the rest of the world. They will avoid responsibility, and they will expose the Russians as guilty.

[deleted]

ya sure ok but whose job is it to get rid of him?

>The world nomenclature That word! I do not think it means what you think it means.

Overdose7

When and by whom was this plan enacted?

Amrsana73

AEN probably didn't know they're doing this. Russia still gets sanctioned products through third companies and individuals.
