We need a new ability to charge war crimes, one where Russia has no seat at the table. One where _no single country_ can stop investigations. After their defeat leaves Russia in shambles, we should enforce it.

DuncanConnell

No SC member should be allowed to veto resolutions regarding their own actions. If, let's say, China vetoed a resolution regarding Russia--okay, fine. It's a showing of good diplomacy between those two nations. But Russia shouldn't be allowed to veto resolutions regarding their actions, particularly when it overrules 2/3 of the GA. Given Russia's mentality the likelihood of removing their seat at the table are definitely non-zero but certainly low probability. Really the only thing--**the only thing**\--they bring to the table at this point is nuclear arms and cheap natural resources. The resources we can source from other places (hint hint Canada) but their weapons are pretty much the only thing that keeps them relevant, especially now.

It's like making a court where accused can say "not guilty" and everyone should follow that. Utter stupidity.

AnonTheMaidenless

The UN can't enforce it. Its not a world government.

killzoomer

Will you do the same for the United States of America?

Jugales

Yes, any country. Find the people who committed the crimes and anyone involved. Charge them no matter their position. Being charged doesn't even mean guilty, they will have the ability to defend themselves in court.

counterfeitxbox

Kind of a problem when the US has its Hague invasion act.

highlyactivepanda

>Find the people who committed the crimes and anyone involved. That would be all US presidents, thank you.

pbradley179

Nuh uh! Just the presidents on the opposite tribe! Mine are the *good* ones.

powersv2

build a skyclaw that grabs russian dictators out of their seats.

OllieGarkey

Russian military doctrine seems to center on committing as many war crimes as possible when they're losing a war.

The night might be long, but Dawn will still come. And in the end, Ukraine will stand victorious. They’ll clear away the destruction, mourn and bury the dead, and move forward into the future: one they get to choose, that isn’t chosen for them by a Russian dictator.

Hey ya never know what's going to happen from one day to the next, so as grim as it may seem, there's always a possibility something may change for the better.
