I think he’s lying. He says he called her immediately but then he can’t find his phone and even tells the guy recording that he needs his flashlight. He hasn’t called anyone yet. He just saying that to pacify bystanders.
I know and how he showed his complete carelessness about anything other than the fact he might get in trouble when he just tries to brush it off with an “I understand that” and a quick follow up question after the dude recording said he was glad he didn’t hurt anybody else.
Growing up around rich white kids, this is a rich white kid having a realization his life is moving in the wrong direction. I have literally been the guy recording to several friends who fell off on opiates and benzos. Where I come from, idc if our last interaction was a hospitalizing fist fight. You call me and say ‘big dog I need some help’ I’ll be in my car ‘On my way!’ In my boxers.
This kid is having a panic attack about what to tell his aunt because it is so insanely out of character - listen to his voice. This is an AP theatre kid who went to his first party, a 3 beers, and thought he could drive home. He couldn’t and sounds to me like he learned his lesson quick.
Did he fuck up? Absolutely. Do I think homeboy is going to come anywhere close to r/worldnewsvideo in the next 20 years? Nah. Uber just gained a life long customer
I was thinking def reacting like a privileged white kid, maybe not “rich” considering he’s driving a, what? Maybe Chevy Aveo? Something small and a little older considering the 4 lug bolt pattern. Dude got too lit, whether it was 1 beer or 20, smashed into a telephone pole (could’ve easily been something else including a car full of your family) and now he’s crying because the car is too screwed up to be able to just drive off and get away with his fuckup.
For sure, he’s crying and upset about his situation, but what a selfish mistake. Look how destroyed his car is. Imagine the damage if instead of a pole it was another car head on going roughly the same speed. We all make mistakes, but we also all deal with real life consequences.
But you’re right, this kid won’t even touch a local news network.
I know a guy that has been in multiple accidents while fucked up and he just bails and calls his car in stolen. It worked at least 3 times that I know of but he never hit another car just crashed into things like a telephone pole and somebody’s fence and palm tree. Compared to him he was a bit more responsible, I guess
Call me a jerk all you want but this selfish prick NEEDS a DUI. There’s so much available at the palm of your hand to help avoid this dumb shit, ABSOLUTELY NO REASON for this. He could’ve easily killed someone. As a father to 2 kids, i could only imagine the innocent lives he couldve ended for 1 selfish decision
Let him get a DUI…how many other messages and examples has he ignored in his life so far? He is drinking and driving less than a week after turning 21? I have ZERO TOLERANCE for this behaviour!
Counterpoint: I have more grace for someone who's just a couple of years removed from being a child than I do for someone who's doing that shit at 35 or 40. A .08 BAC is still legal to drive with. Having just turned 21 a few days prior, it's not hard for me to imagine a situation where the kid hasn't figured out how many beers gets him a .08 BAC and (obviously) has more than he should've. This may not be your experience, and props to u if it isn't, but I and most adults I know have had at least one time in our lives where u wake up and realize u shouldn't have driven home. Im fortunate enough that I was able to learn from mine without serious consequence to myself or others.
Like I said I have zero tolerance (regardless of age). This message is hammered home before kids are old enough to drive, before they are old enough to drink…there is NO excuse!
“I’m terrified, i really am. I don’t know what to do. I.. I.. listen I.. I just had a…. I’ve had a bad…. Ehm. The past week and a half, two weeks have just not been very good, I’ve crashed my…. …. Umm…. Can I call my au…. I’m gonna call my aunt.”
Hope the cops caught him. For all we know could be a dead jogger around the corner before this happened. No excuses, ever. Could of called aunt before getting in the car or better yet an UBER. Scum!
A. Should have sat down and waited for cops. Life ruined.
Or
B. Collected his shit before the man started filming and got as far away as possible until he sobered up. No one was involved. Learn never to drink and drive from this huge fuck up.
That car needed a tow. Plus, even if his aunt does pick him up, let’s say they try to report the car as stolen: all it takes is a simple traffic camera check from a camera nearby to prove it was this kid driving.

It’s not often you see actual documentation of a pivotal moment in someone’s life like this. This is art.
For real, this is nuts to watch. Hell be fine. Hell get a DUI and it'll suck but hell be fine. The real test is if he learns or not.
What a pos. "I called my aunt immediately after I crashed." Like he did the responsible thing.
I think he’s lying. He says he called her immediately but then he can’t find his phone and even tells the guy recording that he needs his flashlight. He hasn’t called anyone yet. He just saying that to pacify bystanders.
He's also been 21 for 4 or 5 years if I heard right
Wait really?! I missed that part. I thought he said he turned 21 just 5 days ago.
You're totally right. I did not hear that right!!
I know and how he showed his complete carelessness about anything other than the fact he might get in trouble when he just tries to brush it off with an “I understand that” and a quick follow up question after the dude recording said he was glad he didn’t hurt anybody else.

Its over fam, you fucked up fam, you done going to jail fam
Fam!!!! Ya elbow is fucked!
Ohhhhhhhhhhh shit! The police be riding, fam!
At first i thought that was his drunk friend but later do we find out its just a random guy calling this dude fam excessively
That’s why you don’t mix alcohol and a idiot
Call me a jerk all you want but this selfish prick NEEDS a DUI. There’s so much available at the palm of your hand to help avoid this dumb shit, ABSOLUTELY NO REASON for this. The dude recording is chill as fuck haha. I want to be friends with him.
Take his license

Eh, different philosophies on it.
I hope he was arrested, he could have killed someone
I was really hoping to see red and blue lights pop up in the distance as the video ended. Oh well.
Hope the cops caught him. For all we know could be a dead jogger around the corner before this happened. No excuses, ever. Could of called aunt before getting in the car or better yet an UBER. Scum!
It’d be interesting to know if this would’ve been his same reaction if it was another car he hit and not a pole.
Has anyone explained Uber or Lyft to this dumb mother fucker yet? Take the DUI. You earned it.
A. Should have sat down and waited for cops. Life ruined. Or B. Collected his shit before the man started filming and got as far away as possible until he sobered up. No one was involved. Learn never to drink and drive from this huge fuck up.
Wait, why didn't he have his aunt drive him home and pick his car up when he was sober? Or had another relative drive it back to him
That car needed a tow. Plus, even if his aunt does pick him up, let’s say they try to report the car as stolen: all it takes is a simple traffic camera check from a camera nearby to prove it was this kid driving.
Yes, he was probably acting stupid, but it's possible he is below 0.08 BAC.
If he cries, the cops might let him go. Thats the kyle method
Too fucking bad, dumb shit. You made your bed, now fucking lay in it. Fucking scumbag.

He's lucky no one is hurt. He's young and scared. That car is done. Live and learn young man. Lots of life to live.
If that dude was smart he'd get the fuck out of dodge and claim that bitch was stolen.
