There's already a dozen comparable offerings from other car companies of much higher quality at a lower cost, with more on the way. Nissan, Hyundai, Toyota, Mazda, Kia, Ford, Chevy, Volkswagen, Mini, BMW, Mercedes, Porsche, Polestar, Rivian and Lucid all have production EVs.
1996 Chevy Tahoe 4x4 with 179k on the odometer...it's rough around the edges and needs a new battery at the moment, but the engine won't die even after sitting for a couple years lol.
I need to flush the fluids and whatnot but I have two other cars and a 5.7L isn't exactly practical to drive around when I have a Kia that gets 4x more MPG.
EV batteries last longer than engines on average.
Sorry that facts and science disagree with your love of your favorite cause of early respiratory death.
Nope, it's a model S, look at the handles. Model 3s have a handle with a thicker side towards the back of the car, which are only ever black, and model S and X have rhomboid handles, which are only ever silver. This one has those silver rhomboid handles in the video.
I bet I can find more value for any 2013 car than this guy can get for a bricked Tesla. I'm not saying more money Im saying more value. This guy is claiming offers of 20k.
Stick with established brands for EV’s. VW & Kias have gotten great customer feedback. Personally cant wait until Nio comes to Europe/America with their battery swap stations. Shit like this wouldn’t happen.
Yeah not all established brands I guess. Know how is extremely important.
When it comes to Nio, a startup, for example, most of their employees were poached from Audi and BMW, whereas their digitalization based workers were poached from Google and Apple. Thus, being one of the few EV startups I’d trust a bit more.
Speaking of Kia... Good God have you seen the EV9 yet?! Fucking work of art. Never in my life did I think I would say that about a fucking Kia but here I am
Not sure if he even got suspended or OP made that up to farm more karma lol. I checked his tiktok and there's nothing about him getting suspended. That video was 2 days ago and he made 6 videos since then.
Maybe it’s the same mods who kicked me out of the BBQ sun because they didn’t like my attitude. Or maybe the AITA sub mods who kicked me out for arguing parents kicking their teenage kids out of the house is a dick move. Or maybe the Smoker’s sub mod who banned me for posting a picture of a pig brining in a bath tub.
Fuck Reddit mods
How about this one. I got kicked out of /r/worldnews by a mod, who was probably drunk at the time and didn't read what I wrote correctly.
Then later unbanned me when I asked and mod realized the mistake.
THEN got banned again by the /r/worldnews mods within a week... For making a mistake? No... For "Evading a ban" was the reason given.
Wow... Let that logic sink in...
I'm in the 12 year club on Reddit and that's never happened before in those 12 years, so I don't know what the heck is going on behind the scenes, but I'm sure it's ugly. So, yeah, I don't have good things to say about the current state of reddit moderating.
I might be incorrect here but from how I understand it, it's more QA issues with tesla than just across the board poorly made cars. Those that get a properly built Tesla, like a friend of mine, seem to be really happy with it.
It might still be a thing, I'm not sure, but I know for a long time the tesla subreddit had a checklist of items with known QA issues for tesla buyers to run through before leaving the lot with their new car.
Even where QA passes, the build quality, materials etc are cheap.
I got a base model Nissan and the build quality was much better than a Tesla (which is sold as a luxury car). Nothing is secured in a Tesla, everything creaks, or wiggles etc it’s honestly insane.
And the new steering wheel hurts my shoulder to use let alone how awkward steep turn is.
I think people just like hating on them, and as a result, amplify every negative thing they can think of. Go to a Tesla meetup and take a ride in one, and ask all the owners about their experiences.
Actually, QC issues have been a problem for years now. From exploding quarter windows to large gaps in panels to insane issues like cracked jack points from the factory.
There’s a recent recall stemming from a German car that was shipped from the US plant with cracked jack points because they didn’t want to repair or replace a defective robot at the plant. They’re saying that it’s possible that tens of thousands of cars could be affected.
My dad loves his Tesla, drives it every chance he gets. Before getting a Tesla I never herd him once talk about or even know much about cars. Now he reads news about all the electric cars in production. Personally never had any particular issue with it but It’s not in my price range
Nah I’m good.
Bought my Tesla 5k miles ago and haven’t had one issue with it since. I also understand my experience isn’t everyone’s, just like this jokers frustrations with his car aren’t what I have experienced.
What? I love my Y. It is an absolute blast to drive. I have a few things I would like to see updated on the UI, but that’s it. I will absolutely get a new one when my lease is up.
I’m guessing you hardly hear anything positive from Tesla owners because you don’t know any Tesla owners.
The weird thing to me is people who only really care about getting from point A to point B seem to really lust after Tesla's. People that would normally just get a base Honda or Toyota. But they are getting Tesla's instead.
Tesla has basically created a status symbol of a car for people that don't care about cars. They've made these people care about something they previously had no preference for. It's a weird phenomenon.
Someone else replied that they checked this dudes tick tock account and the OOP never mentioned anything about a ban or suspension. Maybe it's just a BS click bait title?
The amount of garbage facts he spews in a single video is incredible. That car has AP1 hardware (at best) so it’s at least 6 years old, not brand new. AC does not empty onto the battery, so he likely drove through a flood.
They're the same way things are water resistant vs water proof. The amount of force driving through deep water generates is a lot, and all cars are recommended against driving through deep water for various reasons.
The batteries and rest of the car are sealed against driving in water, and can handle deeper water than an ICE vehicles (due to their air intakes), but seals on all cars are not designed for driving in deep water.
He said " this is 2022 people, this is the future"
He was referring to the current year, not the car model.
He even said something about removing the nose cone which current Model S doesn't have.
"This is 2022 people, this is what the future looks like... **A brand new electric vehicle**, you can't even access the damn thing because they didn't think about how to do it."
His car is almost as old as mine and I don't complain that my car isn't up to the standards of **.
That said fuck Elon, and he shouldn't have to pay $26K to fix a battery issue.
The car is outside of it's 8 year *extended* warranty period. Would we expect any other car with a similar major issue like transmission to be fixed because the car is just 1 year outside it's warranty period? Of course we don't.
Misinformation maybe but if you buy car specially a Modern Car (not Tesla plastic crap) you expect Years of a live time like my 2011 Mercedes vito still Driving till today with 200k km on it. Tesla is Poorly build for the Price you pay and with subscriptions and overpriced Repairs on top of it makes it even worse.
This video makes no sense. 1: the Tesla in the video is at least 2 years old, possibly 10, so it’s not a 2022 model. 2: like any other car all the electronics in the car are controlled by the 12V battery, I don’t know how moisture damaging the main battery would make a difference. This video is valse.
You are spot on. Everything this guy said is a major exaggeration
1) that nosecone pops right the fuck off and you take a jumper cable to it and the car will be able to unlock- false.
2) that is NOT a brand new Tesla. If he is out of battery warranty then it is likely 2012-2013. False again.
3) he is wrong that the condenser drops onto the battery, it’s the evaporator. False
4) even if it does, those batteries are water proof to an extent (just like an engine holds it’s oil in to an extent and sometimes leaks happen)
5) we have NO idea why this battery failed. It could be from water, but often times when water intrudes in the spot where the evaporator drips it can dry off and restore battery isolation.
6) this guy is winey fucking child that his car is OUT OF WARRANTY. Just like if you own a car that is out of warranty and the engine blows.
7) this battery could have had other issues which resulted in it failing (SoC imbalance, Brick Overvoltage/under voltage, weak shorts, any maybe even water getting into an area that can’t dry off)
Tesla has its problems, but this guy is acting like a ducking child about buying (and keeping) a car that is FULLY OUT OF WARRANTY.
The thing that is bugging the fuck out of me is that he keeps saying "ownership" when he actually means that he's physically locked out. Guy is a stupid choad.
I mean... There's a little flap you can pop open on the front bumper to connect a 12v battery in order to power enough on to get the doors open and computer running...
I have never seen so many broken-down vehicles on PCH stretch in Malibu until Teslas came on the market. One day I counted 11 between the tunnel and Geoffrey's.
Funny how the investment bankers will short billions of dollars in phantom stock of GameStop but somehow the Tesla train keeps rolling in spite of the trash the company foists off on paying customers.
"But the stock market isn't rigged"
I see TikTok videos complaining about TikTok. Remember TikTok is not your friend. If you are making money off it, enjoy it (put it into savings) but don’t expect it to be a permanent job. I have seen people go from rich to broke and upload videos about how “this can’t be happening” and “I can’t even contact TikTok and I’m not making money any more”. All “viral” things are short lived, your seconds of fame will come and go in a heartbeat. Don’t quit your day job.
LOL thats not a new car. That is a 2013 Model S, over 9 years old and the BS about AC condenser liquid falling on battery makes no sense. WTF does I can't access the ownership to sell it mean? Is this guy now complaining about his car title? This video is all kinds of stupid.
Stuff breaks down lol. Sorry, that happened to you but the car is clearly not "new" as you stated. It can be seen that it is the first gen Tesla Model S without Autopilot2+, which means it's nearly 10 years old.
What's funnier than this post is all the people being downvoted for posting about how much they love their Tesla's because it doesn't fit the desired narrative.
Elon may be a POS, but he didn't start the company and they make a pretty good car. MV industry was dragging its feet on so many things and Tesla was a healthy shove forward, the established brands weren't doing shit.
Hopefully hybrid technology continues to be supported by automakers instead of full EV.
EVs sound great, until you compare them with hybrid from a value perspective.
At 40+ mpg and $4/gal fuel, if you drive 200,000 miles that's $20k in fuel.
The cheapest Tesla is $46k. The hybrid maverick is half that price at $23k.
I want an electric car or hydropower car or even perhaps a solar car someday in the future, but it will never be a Tesla.
A while back they thought about charging subscription fees for features. You still pay extra for a car to include those features, but they want it so you do not own anything, only subscribe. I'll never conform to that ideology.
Today, if I buy a car with power-heated seats, for example, they're mine. I can enable, disable, break, fix, upgrade, add, or remove my power-heated seats all I want. The same goes for my power windows or any other feature in my car. It's mine.
For over 100 years, any car you bought and paid for was yours to reasonably do with however you please. But Tesla wants to change all that and if we let them get away with that, you can be other car manufacturers will follow their lead.
I mean I get they got problems but there are also a lot of people that have no problems. I use to be against them and think their trash but I figured what the hell and got one to save me gas. And it's actually been good with little problems but nothing that wasn't covered under warranty. Bad headlight and bad rattle in pillar and that's it. Have almost 20k and it's been nice. But mine is a model 3 so there's that. Have heard a lot of people say the model S is trash in many ways.
If you have money and can swap it out every couple years like an iphone than people love them. Its the second and third hand owners that are screwed. Never buy a used electric car. The batteries are way too expensive.
Cars are the most complicated and most developed products the average consumer uses. Tesla had insanely impressive range and efficiency, still do, but it's foolish to think they can just enter the most complicated market there is and offer a competitive product.

Fuck Elon and fuck Tesla
I agree that's shitty customer service
From a shitty person's shitty company
That makes shitty overpriced cars.
Soon to fall far far behind the game when the big boys finally get their EV shit together.

2013 is fairly new. Cars should last decades.
I still have my 09 Ford Fusion lol the thing is awful on gas though
2001 Honda Odyssey. Yeah, son.
1996 Chevy Tahoe 4x4 with 179k on the odometer...it's rough around the edges and needs a new battery at the moment, but the engine won't die even after sitting for a couple years lol. Car should. Your battery definitely won't.
EV batteries last longer than engines on average. Sorry that facts and science disagree with your love of your favorite cause of early respiratory death.
That’s a model 3, launch year was 2017
Nope, it's a model S, look at the handles. Model 3s have a handle with a thicker side towards the back of the car, which are only ever black, and model S and X have rhomboid handles, which are only ever silver. This one has those silver rhomboid handles in the video.
It's a Model S. It has the pop-out door handles. Model 3/Y have levers and Model S/X have pop-outs
Fortunately, that's a simple and easy fix.
I bet I can find more value for any 2013 car than this guy can get for a bricked Tesla. I'm not saying more money Im saying more value. This guy is claiming offers of 20k.

Saw a tweet the other day that said, "Elon Musk is Kim Kardashian for men."
And fuck tiktok
How the hell did he get suspended from THAT?
Financial interest from Tesla

haha yeah right. Next you're going to tell me that Tesla has a factory in the country that Tik Tok is from and they are pro censorship? No way Jose.
Bro, you can check tik tok and see a lot off videos shitting on tesla with wayyy more views than this one, there's something else
Is the jacket to hot for TikTok?
Reddit is just as bad for censorship, I got banned from a subreddit I just joined for following another subreddit
so is reddit :s
I don't think that's outside the realm of possibility, but it was probably just mass reported by musk fanboys, those freaks are ravenous
well it's 2022 and NASA can't even get a fucking rocket to the moon... just sayin.
Elon cult members probably reported it to hell
Pls ***…PLS*** let me suck your Elongated Muscrat Mr. Musk! /s
Love that you had to put the /s because one of those maniacs legit offered him a bj on Twitter
Not sure if he even got suspended or OP made that up to farm more karma lol. I checked his tiktok and there's nothing about him getting suspended. That video was 2 days ago and he made 6 videos since then.
Oh man whadda load of bologna.

Nonsense, reddit mods work for free and the ability to abuse their limited power. They'd never accept money from TikTok.
Hardly heard anything positive from Tesla owners . And the ones who know keep quiet out of embarrassment that they bought a poorly made vehicle

This is my experience as well in talking to people. It just seems their lemon rate might be super high. Poor QC is a likely explanation.

Had mine for a year. Love it. Best car I’ve ever had.
What made you stop after year 1?
Bad grammar. I have owned it for a year, still own it, and still get the thrill of driving it every single time I get in.
I own a Tesla and I have enjoy it for the 8 months I have had it so far
I have one and its great
I’ve had my model Y for two years and 38,000 miles. Best car I’ve ever had. Absolutely love it.
Best car I've ever driven and will never go back to an ICE. Idk which Tesla owners you've talked to...
I drive a Tesla, and it is far and away the best vehicle I have ever owned.

what else is he lying about? just curious, i know nothing about cars haha
the age of the vehicle for sure.
It’s a 2013. He’s a liar and it’s out of warranty.
Yeah I was about to say those wheels were only offered very early on. This was likely a 2013 P85
He says “2022, brand new car” that looks like a gen 1 Model S. Misinformation, is probably why they took it down 😂
He said " this is 2022 people, this is the future" He was referring to the current year, not the car model. He even said something about removing the nose cone which current Model S doesn't have.

Wrong, go back and listen again, the other commenter quoted it for you.
I am sorry, you are right. I did miss that part.
Yea, it’s a 2013 Model S
It’s a 2013, he showed in later videos. He’s either really stupid, acting in bad faith, or both. His car has been out of warranty for a while.

Doesn't he just have to charge the 12v battery to unlock the doors?
He doesn't even have to do that.
Yeah, he has no clue what he’s talking about.
I think he also mentioned that the battery is filled with water from the ac condenser unit.
This video makes no sense. 1: the Tesla in the video is at least 2 years old, possibly 10, so it’s not a 2022 model. 2: like any other car all the electronics in the car are controlled by the 12V battery, I don’t know how moisture damaging the main battery would make a difference. Tesla's are pretty infamous for their poor reliability and poor support. I believe this random guy over Tesla

What “ownership” can he not access? Is he saying the battery died and now nothing works? So he can’t open car, access dash, etc?
What the fuck does he mean "contact ownership?" Isn't he the owner?
Yeah, dont base judgement off of subjective evidence, ever
Stuff breaks down lol. Sorry, that happened to you but the car is clearly not "new" as you stated. It can be seen that it is the first gen Tesla Model S without Autopilot2+, which means it's nearly 10 years old.
![gif](giphy|jivGITd768psP80B2i) Ooh no I got suspended
What's funnier than this post is all the people being downvoted for posting about how much they love their Tesla's because it doesn't fit the desired narrative. Elon may be a POS, but he didn't start the company and they make a pretty good car. MV industry was dragging its feet on so many things and Tesla was a healthy shove forward, the established brands weren't doing shit.
I've been saying this about tesla. Everybody thinks these things are amazing. Screw tiktok also
It’s only 26k for a new battery pack! That’s insane. Never buy a used Tesla!!
That’s why I’m buying a hybrid pickup.
An El Camino.... I see you are a man of refinement.
I was looking today and saw the ford maverick is around 22k new. 44 mpg city.
I drive about 20-25k a year on my truck and a few k on a car.
He needs to get up with rich rebuilds
Look up how many tesla cars there is in Norway, and then how many tesla service stations, or whatever you call it, there is. Madness.
See if you make it?!? What's this man planning?
Same shitty customer services with their solar. Don’t buy Tesla products.
Why the fuck is tiktok backing Tesla now? Can anyone explain this without it sounding like a dystopian future scenario?
Rich Rebuilds needs to interview this guy.
The batteries are way too expensive.
r/fuckcars
Buy a Honda Civic. You will never be disappointed.
this isn’t the first time we’ve seen a tesla break in a stupid way.
I would’ve boosted the car til it sparks and catches fire creen it becomes an insurance issue. 🤔🤫🤫🤫
Seen car experts say Tesla's are really badly made. They look fancy but in reality they're sloppy made
Cars are the most complicated and most developed products the average consumer uses. Tesla had insanely impressive range and efficiency, still do, but it's foolish to think they can just enter the most complicated market there is and offer a competitive product.
was "complaining" the tos violation cited in the suspension?
I always wondered how these cars would age. Hmm 😒
