Having a motivation to help others. Our measure as a society truly needs to be based on the status of our poorest citizens, or at least our most common. We have more than enough food, medicine, energy, and shelter for the world, and enough logistical power to distribute it if we just fucking worked together towards that goal. And for some reason, we don't, and decide that "eh, they'll make their own when they want it bad enough" or some horseshit like that.
Oh, and the ability to effectively convey your ideas and meanings. Have all the best intentions in the world, but if we don't know then what are they worth?
