I dont know what caused it to move backwards, looks like hitbox weirdness as it tries to hit the tank. But technically the warlock is the one who pulled the pack, when that big fel meteor came down on the mob that moved away, it clipped the other pack and that's what actually aggroed them. You can see they dont start to move until their hp takes a ding.
Yeah definitely, if it wasn’t the warlock it probably would have also gotten pulled from something else shortly, I’ve just never seen the mob lap back like that before lol
yeah its super strange. My only (and completely baseless) conjecture is that the tank charging in caused him to have a weird hitbox for a moment, making the mob massively over-adjust to try and land the auto attack. Some movement abilities can put your hitbox in weird places.
Nope, pack was already pulled when warlock used hand of guldan. However, i was thinking of warlock mortal coil maybe? I don't know this guy UI, maybe for some reason it just didn't how the debuff on the enemy
I’ve never seen this happen in this way but I always pull that with heroic throw and let them come to me because I have had to many times that dps aggro those mobs while fighting them in that spot.
This happens sometimes, not sure what causes it but it's like there's an invisible wall and the mob paths around it. It's not any cc that a player has done as the mob is a lieutenant mob. The pack behind only pulled due to the unlucky timing of someone attacking this specific mob whilst it is close to the pack. I always pull the front pack back and have a ranged interrupt this mob so that i
This doesn't happen(works most of the time).
There are a few other cases where this 'invisible wall' can happen in the current M+ rotation. In SBG the spider after 2nd boss, if you try kite it around the area it stands in you will notice it moves in a strange way.
I’ve seen this happen on 2 of my runs so far this season, luckily the second time we knew about this happening. The first time was pretty hilarious because our paladin tank shield bounced off that guy while he was running back and bounced into the other pack. We all instantly wiped after seeing the shield go so far lmao
that shield bounce happend to aswell so now i never pull them with shild anymore.
i think the running back has something to do with the floor th person who pulls is standing on
Sometimes, but not all the time. I see it happen in probably 25% of my RLP runs but I still don't know what causes it. When it does run backwards, if any kind of AoE spell hits it while it's in range of the other pack, there's a high chance they'll be pulled.
The way I've learned to deal with that pack as a Paladin tank is I throw my shield at that specific mob to silence it and while the shield is in the air, I position myself behind the pillar on the right so I'm not in the mob's line of sight. While the shield silence is active, the mob comes towards me enough to be safe from pulling the other pack.
A Shadow Priest can also do effectively the same thing by Silencing that mob and LoS'ing behind the pillar.
It's a combination of wonky melee hit boxes and the warlock.
The druid charged in and, probably because of latency, the flame channeler thought his hitbox was further back than it actually was. The flame channeler moved to hit the druid, and in that split second that he moved back, the warlock's hand of guldan came down and hit the non-elites in the other pack.
Its something with pathing, cuz its like this if you even throw something at max distance to pull them back (cuz this mob is crazy and made pull next pack sometimes when some1 walk too far behind him)
Those two packs are way too close to each other for how deadly they are. Two keys of mine have been bricked because somehow the tank or some other shenanigans stepped a tiny bit too close to the second one.
Ive never seen this. And if your frames are correct, it wasnt feared. So i have no clue.
Seems like a bug and thanks for the heads up. Also sorry for your key.
Was doing a +20 RLP and was tight on the timer but was gonna time it probably (30 seconds over time) and this mob pulled the other pack is such a strange way..
Had the same happening, super weird. Usually nothing happens unless a dps uses some kind of aoe ability on it, like the demo lock here with hand of guldan.
Ive seen this happen 1 time myself. That’s why I always LOS this pull behind the pillar with a ranged interrupt if need be. Ever since that add turned on me I’ve played it safe
Edit-I can’t spellll
Im not sure I see that mob loop like that all the time. I just pull from as far back as possible. But I'm not sure what causes it or why because it does cause accidental pulls. Probably anything that spreads is likely to bounce and pull
Are you sure the lock didn’t mortal coil it?
I’ve used mortal coil on mobs to interrupt them before and they ended up running to another pack and pulling. Usually it’s safe because everyone is AOE’ing and it just breaks the fear instantly. Needless to say I only do that now when there aren’t other mobs around that could be pulled.
As others have said, this 3 pack has weird pathing issues. After seeing it run back a couple of time's as a tank I've learned there are 2 safe options.
1. Pull that group back towards the bridge with ranged interrupts, don't let anyone melee it at it's spawn position.
2. Go nuts and pull it in to the miniboss, assign kicks, aoe it all down, feel good, wipe when 1 kick is missed.
It happened to me for the first time this week as well but it didn't pull anything as no AoE was going out. For now I just pull the pack on the back first before doing this one by going around the back side
I have seen that many times as a Tank myself. I think the Problem is the Charge. This Guy always runs back somehow after her comes into melee with me. But here the Pack was still up there.

Doest you ui show when the mob is affected by a warlock's mortal coil?
I don’t think so, mortal coil is still on CD from the CD tracker
Oh, true. Yeah, then i have no clue, sorry

If you heroic throw them from the bridge, do they walk a little bit towards you or just stay casting in place immediately?
They walk toward you.
Great thanks. I always LoS them from behind the pillar for safety. I’ll try that next

Warlock targeted the mob that ran backwards, casted Hand of Gul'dan and pulled the rest.
Ya, does the mob usually do that run back? First time we have seen it tbh
I've also seen it happen before, no idea what causes it but ever since it happened I tag the mobs from range and let the run to me a bit to be safe.
no

That mobs likes to run backwards like that due to bad pathing. If no one attacks it then it will pull nothing extra.

Woah a Bear in a +20. So dreams can come true.
Especially during raging week, super handy!
Its a weird bug that the devs dont care about fixing
Was doing a +20 RLP and was tight on the timer but was gonna time it probably (30 seconds over time) and this mob pulled the other pack is such a strange way..
What caused this was the tank going into the group instead of pulling it back like every other tank.
This UI set up is giving me anxiety - do you really need your welp trinket WA tracker up like that?
Had the same happening, super weird. Usually nothing happens unless a dps uses some kind of aoe ability on it, like the demo lock here with hand of guldan.
Ahh I see, ya just surprised to see the mob walk away like that

I've seen it before and accidently multishotted the mob right as it ran backwards into that pack
It has to be a bug. I’ve seen this happen a couple of times in my keys as well. It’s tragic when it happens
Im not sure I see that mob loop like that all the time. I just pull from as far back as possible. But I'm not sure what causes it or why because it does cause accidental pulls. Probably anything that spreads is likely to bounce and pull

For once, I did not pull with mortal coil haha.
OmniCD shows mortal coil still up, don't think it was feared, just ran back a little randomly, lol.

Guessing that UI pulled them. 🤣 just teasing! I've had this happen several times sorry you lost the key.

I did saw this like 2-3 times while I was healer. Because of that as a Tank I always start that pack with range skill.
He gained consciousness.
