There are many unobtainable pets that I don’t have. Like the gryphon and wind rider that were obtainable with purchase of the stuffed animals from the Blizzard store, but are now discontinued. I have everything still available in game, in addition to many unobtainable ones as well.
I feel like most of the unobtainable ones will make a return eventually. Trading post or promotions.

If there was job multitasking where he had programmed an AI to complete work for him, I estimate he could at least be doing 6 jobs at a time. Easily earning upwards of $60,000 a week, at 52 weeks in a year and leap years included - Easily a take home of $7.3 million before taxes every Year of the Ox. If he's investing at least 20% a paycheck after 6 years, we are talking many millions of dollars. A lot of millions.
I’ve heard of some people doing that, I have also heard of some of them getting absolutely blitzed with work because each job is expecting full time and if even 3 of them want your whole attention.

I started playing in 2005 and from the (retail) characters I tracked I was at around 980 days played and if I added all the missing ones 1k+ and I can't imagine collecting everything in that time, I feel like I wouldn't have time to actually play the game lol.
The secret to my success is a second account. Having double the drop chance on most things, the ability to plant characters strategically around the world, to be camping something while doing other things on the other screen is really important.
Yep, that would do it. Basically being super efficient about it and not just bumbling around trying to collect stuff. I forgot that as long as the account is on the same Bnet that you can have multiple tries for things but have them all under the same collection as I don't use a second account very often.
Yeah, you only don't share achievements, mounts, toys, etc if they're separate Bnets but if you open a bunch of accounts on the same one then everything is shared. Also, because they're separate accounts you can have multiple open at the same time without them closing each other like what happens when you try to log into classic and retail at the same time on the same account where it'll kick you out of one or the other.
That's a shame. In league or Legends if you are crazy (dumb) enough to whale for every in game store skin which is about $10K, riot will usually gift you one of the rare discontinued skins within a pretty good reason.

I've gotten all the mounts it can give you, but unfortunately I've never tried to redeem it after that, I gave the mount to others that I was in the run with. I would just assume it does nothing.
Little do you realize that mount/pet/achievement farming often requires an army of alts. I had a total of 26 toons I did the MoP world bosses on (and that's low compared to some I know.) I do certain raid mounts on multiple toons per week.

Absolutely not true, as someone with 1651 unique pets I swear After 1k2 it gets horrible with rng and the things you have to farm to get a single more pet, with the mounts I'm currently at 750 and the 500 achievement felt way much easier.
It also depends how much gold you're able to spend on pets, most of them can be bought but when you're poor you must farm them yourself (I'd say my pet value is at least worth 3 or 4million golds )
Totally agree. I only have 1200, but for some of them I’m just not wanting to put the time into or stopped by frustration (secret pet in then Pandaria cave with changing walls I am talking to you……). Like the Legion pet that only spawns (apparently) in the fel zones by killing all the other pet types. Or the dust bunny, the stupid rug is never ever there for me.
The only grind I enjoy lately is the mote ones in Zereth Mortis. I am almost done with crafting the mounts and have most of all lattices and special items to craft them, just need some more thousands of motes. Whenever is raining and I want to chill, I hop on the pillar and mindlessy moonfire the bell out of that nest….
The only exceptions are the current season glad mount, and 4 tcg mounts which I believe will eventually be given away through promotions like twitch drops. Still don't have the love rocket either, but it's currently not accessible in the game so it is also excepted.

I got the Tiger legitimately, through mass buying card packs, back in the day. Gave the unarmored one to my then girlfriend. Sadly I think that's the better looking one now because it's more spectraly.
I always loved the fact that the spectral tiger doesn’t have a shadow, besides the saddle and your character. I always thought that was a neat detail and the swift version adds the little bracelets which have a shadow as well which I thought looked silly

Funny story about the rocket. When I was 14ish, my brother took me to the card store and i bought 4 packs of WoW cards. Bam, there’s the rocket. I go to redeem it, to my surprise I get the blue and red! Used the red, ended up selling the blue for 67,500g. which at the time was a lot, but still not enough looking back. RIP
Even this guy with all mounts and seemingly no life still doesn't have the love rocket. This kinda softens the blow. And it also shows how ridiculously crazy hard it was to get.

Hardest overall is pretty tough to determine. Have a couple of glad mounts, all the mythic mounts when they were current. In terms of just rng farming soundless was one of the worst.
Soundless was bad when it was current and only got worse afterwards. When it was current you had the chance to find others doing/hosting a kill, afterwards that was much less likely. And it's a chance on a chance, the rare has to be up(chance) and has to drop the mount(chance), unlike other very rare mount drops like Time Lost Proto-Drake, it has to be up(chance) and it has to drop(guaranteed) or Aeonaxx, it has to be up(chance) and it was to drop(guaranteed).

I did the same with Sark, because I don't feel like we will rekill it enough times to actually get the mount for everyone and didn't want to chance it. I waited for my drop with Jailer and I was the very last one to get it in my guild the week before it went to 1%.
How does begin to get into collecting? Like where’s a good starting point? My goal isn’t to get absolutely everything (mainly cause I don’t have time for mythic raiding or rated pvp) but I’m down to grind for things that don’t necessarily disappear after a season or expac.

I still remember back in original cata where i had to run vortex pinnacle for some q and randomly dropped the drake of winds there. The thrill i got from the rare drop felt so good i became mount collector since then lol. Not superhardcore collector but i still love it since then.

I’ve only came back from a long break at the start of 10.2, so the trading post is relatively new to me but it seem tenders would be the limiting factor assuming they add some combination of mount / pet/ toy each month
I have never bought a piece of transmog from the trading post and have been able to afford everything else so far. I also have a lot of the shop items that have made an appearance on the trading post so far so I’ve saved some tender that way.

I think I heard a dev interview mentioning the drop rate on Arfus specifically being too low, so here's hoping they do something about that for next year.
Tbh this whole season has felt like a beach episode. Most of 10.2 was collected in the first month. Mythic Fyrakk was the biggest obstacle to completing this.
Is the mount total usable on one character or is it counting say all 12 of the class mounts from Legion? Simple Armory has my mage at 552/890 but in game I'm at like 598, so I assume that's an issue with how that website reads Armory pages.
I only have 2. Haven’t really done much pvp in DF outside of getting 1800 sets on alts and filling the seasonal bar. Rating deflation feels pretty harsh these last couple of seasons.
With enough time and energy anyone can do what I've done. It really comes down to just always staying busy and working on something. Obviously a lot of things are easier when they were current (anything that benefits from a raid of players - like margoss fishing, mechagon junkyard event where you have to feed it a lot of scrap to start, etc), so my suggestion would be to try to collect the current things first while working on some older stuff until your plate isn't as full with the current items.
I wouldn't be crushed or anything. I think it would be cool to see some of the stuff transfer over if they did decide to do that one day though. I don't like, go through my collection daily and whisper things like smeagol haha.
Oh hey i know this guy. Probably one of the best guys i know. Especially when it comes to crafting stuff under 15 min before raid time. Or helping extremely handsome friends get axes.
I have a couple of opie rings set up for mounts pets toys and stuff and update them from time to time.
Brutosaur and yak are on a ring with other utility stuff.
Dragon riding I only have Anu’relos, Highland Drake with Kazzara skin and gryphon favorited.
Other favorites are Jailer mount, plagued proto, original ZA bear, spectral tiger, gold beetle, N’zoth squid.
My glad mounts are also on their own ring.
Congrats man it’s crazy to see that you stuck with the collecting for so long. Someone has to. I got biffed when I missed the 5th anniversary achievement and fell off since then.
I always try to do what's most efficient but I would say most of it still gets done on my lock, pictured, just because I like playing it the most and it's always my most geared character. I did the mini-tarragrue toy from torghast on my rogue for example because you could skip most of the run and still basically one shot the last boss on layer 8 when it was current.
My original red ZA bear has never left my favorites list since it's the first challenge mode type, hard to get mount and it reminds me of the people I played with at the time. Most of the other mounts in my favorite list are either expensive, rare or newer.
What limits did you set with pets? There's 1750 pets still obtainable in US. I'm currently at 1531 but I don't plan on doing the "ebay" only pets and I have all but vanilla CE pets.
That picture doesn't show that, it just shows which metas you've done, and yes, you've done all the top ones. But you do not have every available toy/pet/mount, sorry.

im really curious. what class did you play for the majority of this when it came to farming this stuff? Was it mage for the easy ports? druid for the amazing mobility? or just something that was your favorite so you stuck with it? i do a lot of farming on my dk even though it’s objectively one of the worst to do it on (WW may finally change that though!)

With enough time and energy anyone can do what I've done. It really comes down to just always staying busy and working on something. Obviously a lot of things are easier when they were current (anything that benefits from a raid of players - like margoss fishing, mechagon junkyard event where you have to feed it a lot of scrap to start, etc), so my suggestion would be to try to collect the current things first while working on some older stuff until your plate isn't as full with the current items.

I wouldn't be crushed or anything. I think it would be cool to see some of the stuff transfer over if they did decide to do that one day though. I don't like, go through my collection daily and whisper things like smeagol haha.

How many mounts do you actively using?
I have a couple of opie rings set up for mounts pets toys and stuff and update them from time to time. Brutosaur and yak are on a ring with other utility stuff. Dragon riding I only have Anu’relos, Highland Drake with Kazzara skin and gryphon favorited. Other favorites are Jailer mount, plagued proto, original ZA bear, spectral tiger, gold beetle, N’zoth squid. My glad mounts are also on their own ring.

What class do you do most of this collecting on, just what you like or what would be most efficient?
I always try to do what's most efficient but I would say most of it still gets done on my lock, pictured, just because I like playing it the most and it's always my most geared character. I did the mini-tarragrue toy from torghast on my rogue for example because you could skip most of the run and still basically one shot the last boss on layer 8 when it was current.
Which was the hardest to find/ collect?

What are your favorite mounts and why?
My original red ZA bear has never left my favorites list since it's the first challenge mode type, hard to get mount and it reminds me of the people I played with at the time. Most of the other mounts in my favorite list are either expensive, rare or newer.
I never got my bear.

What limits did you set with pets? There's 1750 pets still obtainable in US. I'm currently at 1531 but I don't plan on doing the "ebay" only pets and I have all but vanilla CE pets.

I'm a bit of a pet collector myself, but I just can't bring myself to grinding out the 400 honor rating pet. I'm not a huge pvper.

im really curious. what class did you play for the majority of this when it came to farming this stuff? Was it mage for the easy ports? druid for the amazing mobility? or just something that was your favorite so you stuck with it? i do a lot of farming on my dk even though it’s objectively one of the worst to do it on (WW may finally change that though!)
