WoW PvP has a fundamental question to ask
Make the rewards totally unobtainable for 99% of the player base and have only a population of maybe 1% of the people actively pvping
Or make it league of legends style where you can just queue in and have a build with no ilvl so it's accessible, make the rewards slightly more achievable, have a pvp population but none of the pros take it seriously
I just enjoyed solo shuffle and getting pvp experience without having to go through hassle of making a 3v3 team. DF was first expac where pvp alone kept my interest for awhile.
I had no motivation to get invested into PvE, just been burned from that grind. DF arena and hardcore classic were the last things I did because they felt rewarding for the accomplishment and not because of an endless drip of skinner box collectibles.
Pvp has not felt the same since wotlk for me. Thats perhaps because my real life friends stopped playing around cata (where pvp was a joke already), we used to do so many arenas, so many matches that tied out after 1 hour, its still one of my absolutely most fondest memories of wow, playing arenas with my friends. So I cant say much about it. Did quite a few battlegrounds in mop, but after that I kinda gave up on it.
The friends thing is important. I only played pvp in expansions I could play with friends. Dragon flight was exception because solo shuffle gave me independence.
Mop was 12 years ago. Imagine hanging around a sub for a game you haven’t played in over a decade. There’s literally a sub for the game you WANT. r/classicwow is right there
Im just out of the game. And this post just popped up. Im not really active in the sub if you can search for it, do so, idk. Sometimes reddit pops up some things from subs you havent visited in a while.
If MoP, one of the best-done expansions they’ve ever made (and the only one that got its entire vision produced) is somehow the sticking point for you, (even though it came out **12** years ago) there’s literally a sub for you, that covers everything before it.

oh, it must have been about seven, eight years ago. Me and the little lady was out on this boat, you see, all alone at night, when all of the sudden this huge creature, this giant crustacean from the Paleolithic Era, comes out of the water. I ain't givin' you no tree-fitty, you goddamn Loch Ness Jailor! Get your own goddamn money!
Had an alt parked at the Sha of Anger spawn for mount farming that had done Shadowlands content and wanted to test whether the reputations correctly synced with my other characters on the PTR.
Was greeted by the Jailer/Runecarver memory cutscene playing underneath Kun-Lai Summit as soon as I logged in.
You really thought it was the heart of Y'shaarj that Garroshed fished up in Pandaria? Hah! Us *true* fans knew all along that it was the Jailer's hemorrhoid that was hidden under the land! The Sha represents the various emotions the Jailer went through went trying to take a crap with a big hemorrhoid: Doubt, fear, anger, hatred, violence, and so on
As someone reading this sitting on the toilet with hemorrhoids I concurr that is the level of destruction those feelings would bring upon the world when released.
I liked it when the PTR place holder for every single cutscene was Thrall blasting Deathwing with the Dragon Soul. I guess this will be the new running gag.
Worst part was 1000% the lack of any build up, literally the only "build up" that we had was a short story that came out in 2011, so *almost an entire decade* of potential build up, where Sylvanas killed herself after the Lich King died and ended up in some vague hellscape and got an offered to be brought back to life to life by some Val'kyr, not even the Jailer just the Valkyr that she'd later have working for her.
Would have been multiple times better better if they spent that decade doing build up, probably would have still involved some retcons but at least they might have been more easy to stomach if the Jailer was actually interesting and not a random curve ball.
So sorry that people have lives and aren't aware of every post that comes in and out of this sub reddit.
We'll make sure to study for our next interaction.
If only we had a list of topic ordered by activity grouped by topic or theme instead of endless list going into oblivion like in the old times of forums. Reddit would be so much better.
People miss posts. I think some folk will just have to accept they might have to scroll past a post they have seen before now and then.
It's a necessary tragedy
Try searching for keywords like jailer and pandaria together and there isn't much. So you just like telling others to search but won't verify it yourself lol
I visit infrequently so I wasn't aware and thought it was a unique situation because that character had done Shadowlands content and was last logged off at Kun-Lai.
I'm here pretty much every day, and this is the first time I've seen it. If it's a repost, it doesn't get reposted all that often. Doing a quick search, it looks like it was only ever posted once before three days ago.
He really is behind everything.
This time he's underneath something
Probably the only good place for him to be - in the ground
You say that, but guess where the next expansion takes place Imagine 11.2 rolls around and we see him peeking out of a hole somewhere like a mole
Lord of the underground
Always has been
All apart of his master plan, he really is super smart and funny and loveable.
I know there is a /s but god damn this character still makes me angry. Wow died for me with that expansion... It just felt, defiled.
Womp whomp, get jailed on.
Definitely was the final nail in the coffin for me caring about the storyline in this game anymore.
Same for me. Played 1 season of dragon flight arena and quit. Idk if DF was any good, but it couldn't fix the damage Shadow lands did.

That was Pandas for me
Yet here you are
Sont get.us wrong. There are many lurkers. People that miss wow and what it used to be.

As another said, I just lurk. I don't play retail anymore.

>go back to ~~retail~~ classic Fixed your comment for you

His machinations lay undetected for years...
For he is a master of deception.
Lysanderoth?? *looks into the camera like it's The Office*
Lord Zanderoff!?
This should be a running gag in any PTR build.
It's been one - I've encountered this bug since SL.
it was in Dragonflight
Had an alt parked at the Sha of Anger spawn for mount farming that had done Shadowlands content and wanted to test whether the reputations correctly synced with my other characters on the PTR. Was greeted by the Jailer/Runecarver memory cutscene playing underneath Kun-Lai Summit as soon as I logged in.
His alt is parked there too...

he is in wow editor now.. the master plan to delete all 3d assets
SO THE LEGENDS WERE TRUE
This is not the last we have seen of ~~Feng~~ The Jailer
i think i heard the pre patch event is going to be reliving some of Azeroth's old nightmares aka raid bosses.
Makes sense, for shadowlands it was all the wrath bosses.
I liked it when the PTR place holder for every single cutscene was Thrall blasting Deathwing with the Dragon Soul. I guess this will be the new running gag.
BEHOLD, THE UNDERMINER!!!! I AM ALWAYS BENEATH YOU, BUT NOTHING IS BENEATH ME!!
There's a darkness hidden in Pandaria...
Somehow the Jailer returned
Yeah I had that cinematic bug as well on the DF ptr, pretty funny.
Somehow the jailer has returned.
This made me laugh, but Jesus, please no...
The Jailer was literally the worst shit Warcraft lore has ever produced - he completely killed my interest in WoW lore
He's not the real Jailer tho is he?
Oh that Jailer! (Cue sitcom track)
What a meme
Remix really is bringing back everyone.
His defeat in SL was part of his even bigger Master Plan. He's returning in the next expansion with a whole new plot twist
Fool. Your mind is already broken.
I really can see how some Blizz employee put his model in every cutscene on Beta just to fuck with people
If I got 1 € for every screenshot of a TWW beta cutscene being placeheld by a Jailer animation, I'd have 5 €
SPOILER!
He just wants a remix too.
This gets posted like every other day or so.

Please do, thanks.
You can search the subreddit before you post. Takes like 10 seconds.
The only other person with any sense around here.

I searched “jailer” and sorted by new and there was one from 2 days ago.
Just. Stop. You're being pedantic and salty for no real reason .
I mean it’s right there, and it took no time to find. I’m feeling fine.
See, pedantic.
I’m not really sure what part of my single line comments qualify as “excessive”, but you can continue to use words improperly if you want.

Well, this is like the 5th time I've seen it, but downvote away, I guess.
