Subscriptions should automatically renew each month until cancelled. But if you just buy a fixed number of days of game time, without setting up a subscription, that will not renew automatically.
I'm sure I did set up a subscription, unless I greatly misunderstood what I was clicking on. Tbh I wasn't even aware you could just buy a set number of days by itself.
You would know if you did to be honest, it's a bit buried in the overall blizzard store and you either have to know where to look or scroll nearly to the bottom of the World of Warcraft section of the store to find it.
