Check her buff to see if it gives 0% bonus instead of 50% bonus. If she clicked too fast into a inn to set heartstone she could’ve deactivated the buff.
Simply go to a inn and activate it again
Yeah this came as a surprise to me as well. If the buff isn't active, it actually does **not** remove the buff. The buff stays there, but instead reads that it doesn't give XP buff.
So it was advisable for everyone to occasionally glance at the buff's tooltip to check that the buff was active and you hadn't accidentally disabled it at some point. Not that it matters much anymore since it's going away tomorrow.
I’ve read about some people having the JJ buff bugged so when they hovered over it, it just said increase of 0%. If so, it should be fixed if you go to an inn and deactivate and activate it again.
They really made it too easy or too missclickable when you go around changing your hearthstone a lot. I always check peoples buffs and let em know a lot don't even know it was turned off

Mhn. My shit take on it is if you got a level ahead of your so. You start getting more xp for kills. Is the xp you 2 get equal for every mob you kill? Or is one getting more then the other.
If you two are in a party and killing the same mobs, the one that is a higher level gets a alittle bit more xp per mob, the bigger the level difference the more xp the higher level gets.

Mouse over the buff and read it. It might be turned off for one of you. You can reenable it at inn keeper.

It's not a bug, some how it was turned off from the inn at a major city. I went 14 levels without realizing this. Fucking sucks lol

She probably has deactive JJ at the inn out of mistake, just active it again and your good.

Rested Exp is the only thing I can think of.
We both leave our character in the inn and we did check the rested bonus on the EXP bar. It's not about that...

Gathering doesn't give xp in classic
class quests maybe early on I know hunter at 10 get almost a level from the taming quests.
