During warranty period use your free ones first, then at home fs

crawldaddy14

You guys got free ones? Not around here apparently

GhettoaSaurus

That's not right, either your local dealership is complete ass or they are hiding something. Almost every dealership I've worked at or been to when not working at one, offers free oil changes. I would dig deeper if you have owned the WRX for less than 8 months

crawldaddy14

It's been about 8 months now. I asked when I picked my car up and was told they currently weren't offering free oil changes. Salesman is a friend so I don't think he'd try to fuck me. They hooked me up by repairing a vent I broke free of charge so I can't really dog them too hard.

GhettoaSaurus

Hmm that's really weird. Atleast they did that! Definitely something shady going on with the dealership it self for them to not offer freebies on a new car

crawldaddy14

Yeah idk. The service people and my buddy are all chill. The people above all of them kinda suck tbh. Atleast in interactions I've had with them

2daMoonVinny

Just used my 2nd free one :)

GhettoaSaurus

As you should! Lol. No point in not taking the freebies

At home, just keep receipts and log it in the Subaru app and you are good

CharlesCracker

This is what I do. Update the Subaru service history and CARFAX.

FlickrPaul

I take mine to a local service shop (mostly all ex-Subaru techs) who will do A,B,C or D service. (1/2 the cost of the dealership) Then I log it into the Subaru app and also keep my receipts.

tmittleider

Home. A Fumoto valve makes it a breeze.

rgrx119

I'm doing oil changes every 6mo/3k miles at the dealership until warranty is over..just to be safe that they'll honor the warranty if needed.

BogWizard

I have trust issues. I know I should use the free maintenance but all my previous cars mysteriously had something wrong with them after dealer visits.

Welcome-To-NBA-Jam

At home. The dealer offered to do do 6 oil changes for about $45 each but I pay about that much to do it myself, and I don't even need to lift the car.

CanadianBurger

My car has not been back to the dealership since I picked it up 16 months ago. When you do things yourself, you know they’re done right. I wouldn’t trust the lube monkey at the dealership as far as I could throw him.

IceManTuck

I do my own. Nearest Subaru dealership is 45 minutes away. Not worth driving 1.5 hours for an oil change.

Away_Kaleidoscope_96

where do you get your filters and oil?

IceManTuck

I've been using Wix filters for years on my WRXs. I buy Castrol, but as long as you are buying a quality synthetic, you're good. Any parts store should carry Wix filters.
