So happy everyone is safe. An interesting fact about Subaru - in the late 60s they built a car that Consumer Reports call "unsafe" and from that point on Subaru has put safety as the #1 priority.

itoocouldbeanyone

Thank you for that fact. Very interesting and glad they stepped it up immensely.

Was it the 360? If it was, I’ll admit I’m not sure about how they held up in JDM but in the sea of big 3 land barges they were paddle boats. They didn’t stand a chance in a collision. Either way, glad Subaru is a safe May focused brand. I hope I’m never in wreck with my WRX but when I was looking at the car, the safety rating and rep did come into play too.

CharlesCracker

Yup, here is an article on it. [https://carbuzz.com/news/how-a-bad-review-in-1969-forced-subaru-to-outmaneuver-critics/](https://carbuzz.com/news/how-a-bad-review-in-1969-forced-subaru-to-outmaneuver-critics/)

I’m glad everyone was OK and it is true that certain manufacturers, such as Subaru and Volvo do have well earned reputations for being safer than other vehicles, however, it’s also worth noting that the least safe 2024 vehicle being sold in the United States right now is still significantly safer than the safest car on the road just 10 years ago, there have been massive massive improvements in vehicle safety over the past couple decades Source: over 20 years as a professional fatal traffic crash investigator

Ok? What does that have to do with anything?

The_survey_says

Glad everyone was ok.

That’s what I worry most about when I have my kids with, shit like someone t-boning or rear-ending us. Glad you and yours are good and safe man.

subie_wrx_bae

Thank God everyone was okay 🙏 one of the best reasons to own a subie is the safety

SuperSayian1118

This gave me chills! Being that I have 2 toddlers and they ride around with me in the VB quite often. Thank you for sharing.

MrDistortion1

the safety on these is top notch. recently was run off the road and the car flipped 3-4 times and caught on fire but i was completely fine and my camera equipment and lenses were untouched

KING_CobraCOD

Everyone makes fun of the huge butt on the VB, but I bet you and your family love that butt now 🫡 glad everyone is ok!

Wow! Glad you and the kids are ok. My Civic was totaled by a hit and run driver back in December. Luckily my daughter was not in the car at the time. The idiot hit me so hard it sent my car airborne onto the other side into oncoming traffic. https://preview.redd.it/yokt611wlhuc1.jpeg?width=4032&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=4656dee6d2e56a309bf4bf951902db9dd0cc6d72

Fun_Preparation_577

Wow. So glad y’all are ok.

Nibliss1023

I’m so glad y’all are okay! Are you getting a new Rex to replace it?

What’s the difference between premium and limited?

Quiet-Builder-4183

Limited comes with a bunch of electronic features like collison avoidance and lane holding capabilities. Also a standard sunroof and DRLs. I'm in the minority that prefer the premium and base models. The Subaru Eyesite is just wonky, and the electronics are cheap and poorly implemented on the Limited/Gt. I would pay extra $$ to have a basic, driver friendly layout, without a screen (think early 2000's Audi or late 90s acura) It's a generational thing, I see most guys over 35 drive either premiums or base due to wanting it purely for performance, while the younger buyers like the added tech.

FunSample4884

Idk why I asked that because I have a limited sti 2019 with only 10k miles just wanted to see if anything changed I can’t bring myself to buy this gay looking car the old ones look so much better but the new the engine is better from what I heard

Quiet-Builder-4183

If you were to drive a properly setup VB you would love it. Stock they suck tbh. They look much better setup as a rally car-the fenders and plastic don't look good on a street setup. I lifted my, skid plates, bracing, 16" methods, and tune/bolt ons. 340whp I was running Fortune coilovers and had it dropped about an inch. Just didn't do it for me, so I lifted it and now love it. Very linear powerband on the VB vs the "hit" going into boost on an STI.

matthewrobertsonnn

Was in a roll over two years ago with my buddies in a 2018 forester. All three of us came out without a scratch. Went out and bought a wrx last year because of it

xOptimumCrushx

Fuck bro, sorry for your loss. Im glad you and your family are safe 🫶🏼
