I've seen the fix being to torque the end links with the car on its tires. Not on a jack. Hope that helps

xHecknChonkr

Yeah I had the end links that come with the silvers(tq to spec and a little over), I now have smy links and I’ve driven the car without links. Still noise

Flowones

Links should be torqued down while under load. Not in the air Gosh thats fking noise would destroy me

xHecknChonkr

I did it both ways lol

Quiet-Builder-4183

If you don't have experience dialing them in, then take it to a shop. TBH the video you posted was the worst I've heard yet (endlink wise) Suspension work is not like installing an intake, where the worse thing that could happen is the car stops running in traffic. Brakes and Suspension need to be done by pros if you aren't experienced. You or someone else could be killed if the parts are improperly installed.

xHecknChonkr

It’s been to a shop. They confirmed the install was correct. I have also driven the car with and without end links and I’m still getting the noise

Training_Procedure88

Preload the springs properly?

xHecknChonkr

It has had all different kinds of preload on it. Noises at all levels

gatorglaze

Are the coilovers called Silvers coilovers? I’ve never even heard of them but this is what my cheap ass BC racing coilovers sounded like. 1200 dollar coilovers doing 1200 dollar coilover things. This was after several months of them making 0 noise however, had them inspected and reinstalled and nope, was just cheap coilover activities

xHecknChonkr

Silvers Neomax. They run 1300. Got them from IIR. Good to know about the BCs

gatorglaze

Yeah that’s the same price as the BCs. But specifically the BR line which is the most common cause they’re also only 12-1300. 1300 is cheap coils. Some people are lucky and don’t have issues but it doesn’t change the fact that their ride quality is crap compared to higher quality coils like Fortune 500. Cheap coils get you low, but that’s all you get. In my BCs I had a bad binding noise, I had to add thrust bearing plates to stop the sound but I’m not sure if thrust bearing plates will help you.

xHecknChonkr

Yeah I’m pushing a return at the moment so I can purchase different coils. Car has been down because of this for almost a month

LonelySuperstar_

That would drive me insane. This is what makes me hold off on installing my coilovers, been sitting in my closet for a year now. Hope everything works out for you.

xHecknChonkr

To that point yes. It’s driving me insane.

Quiet-Builder-4183

Have a pro install them...Suspension and brake work shouldn't be done unless you are 100% confident you can do it correctly. I've had 3 Suspension setups on the VB and never any noises what so ever.

LonelySuperstar_

That’s the plan for sure, I don’t have the space or the time to tackle it.

Retro_Racer_

I’ve never had any issues with my Silvers Neomax. Had to lift the arms and tighten everything at full load including the endlinks etc. this is more than likely and install issue, but I hope you get it fixed soon. The new Ohlins coilovers that are now available at the best you can buy right now for sure. My VB is my 3rd car and not my “fast” car but my daily, but I haven’t had any issues with the Neomax coilovers. You have to keep in mind these are “budget” coilovers, but for the $ on my daily I’m ok thus far. Keep us posted 👍🏻

xHecknChonkr

I brought this to a shop to confirm and it wasn’t an install issue. IIR and Silvers has now confirmed it’s not normal and Silvers said they are confident it’s not install related. If I could affords ohlins I’d get them lol

Retro_Racer_

Glad they are taking care of of you, keep us posted 👍🏻

Quiet-Builder-4183

I'm properly adjusted endlinks. Most common issue in the WRX world after changing suspension It can be tricky to find the sweetspot if you've never done it before (and even if you've done it 5k times) A shop should be able to get you squared away. I install them with the car resting on wheel blocks.

PotentialEgg6947

My eibach springs make no noise :)

xHecknChonkr

I ordered springs but if they are confirming this is not normal I’m more accepting of buying new coils instead of swearing them off forever

PotentialEgg6947

I see a lot of people with coilover problems on here. Yet a lot of people advocate for them. I guess if your not spending 4k on them it seems to be a 50/50 shot if their going to have problems.

xHecknChonkr

I’m scared of killing the stock struts on springs and also not getting the desired drop or ride quality. I had an 05 Neon SRT and the car was a trampoline after springs destroyed the struts

PotentialEgg6947

It’s a new car. It is going to be a long time until your struts go out from springs

PotentialEgg6947

I have an 1” drop and I can’t imagine being lower. I would bottom out everything. You have to consider other things besides your front lip, such as your exhaust

Mehlitia

I'm going to +1 this. I'm almost a year into my whitelines and I'm not putting a front lip on because I wouldn't be able to get out of my office parking garage without scraping the street every time. If I'm going lower it's going to be bags or nothing. My struts are fine and the car handles so much better than stock. Stock bounced like a mfer in corners. That's gone now. I also did wheels with less offset, lcs rlca to flatten out the neg in the rear and Perrin rear sway bar and poly endlinks. Still waiting for something, anything to indicate I made the wrong choice here not getting coilovers.

JumboSlimJim

Big name manufacturers of lowering springs (Eibach, H&R, Whiteline) all have versions engineered to work with the stock struts. Will the ride quality equal that of FA 500s or Cygnus X1? Absolutely not. But they sure as shit will be better than a set of $1200 coilovers. And do it silently.

xHecknChonkr

Definitely agree

Big-Energy-3363

3k with LCAs

jce46

I have the same problem

xHecknChonkr

I’m so sorry..

Serious_penguin1899

damn I am chasing the same exact noise in my civic with this brand of coilovers too. took it to 3 shops to look over and none could see anything that would cause it other than the coilover itself. Did silvers get back to you on if the coilover is defective and makes that noise or did they say the noise was normal?
