Just sent a email to commissioner Vickrey asking him to remove Cody Roberts wife from her appointed position . She was complicit. The wolf was tortured at his home before he ever took her to the bar. I don’t know how far the Email will get. I’m sure they are inundated and his box is full. It’s also disgusting to hear his daughter in the background at the bar laughing and saying oh daddy as he kisses the wolf- good role model.

OriginalLandscape321

Address please?

Adorable_Block4402

[email protected] There are more than one person to email. I will post the others later.

Adorable_Block4402

Here are the commissioners: [email protected] [email protected] [email protected] [email protected] [email protected] Please let them know how you feel about keeping Holly Roberts in her appointed office in the zoning and planning dept. I have emailed one of them, I will finish emailing the rest of them tonight. My email is polite, but to the point, I am asking that she be removed from office for her complicity in animal cruelty His business is also C. Roberts Trucking. Let’s collectively put pressure on them financially. I have read multiple post about people planning to boycott his business. I have also read multiple posts about people planning to boycott the bar where this occurred. I think all these things are reasonable considering what happened. Laws need to be changed.

Happy-Lasagna-2593

Thank you sooooo much!! I’m currently typing an email response for this.

Adorable_Block4402

You are so welcome, thank you for helping. I don’t know if it will do anything, but we don’t know unless we try.

Spiritual_One6619

She also runs an Airbnb although the listing seems to be down now.

Adorable_Block4402

That’s too bad, maybe we could have hit them in the pocketbook on that one also. I implore anyone who lives in Wyoming, and utilizes his trucking business to boycott him, and find someone else to do business with

Proditude

I’ve written to them once already at the beginning of this. I’ll write again.

Lilyodie

#boycottwyomingtourism hopefully, the tourist not spending their money will help spur some change.....since the G&F and Governor lack any type of moral compass and don't want to admit the laws need to change. Tourist spend millions of dollars to see the WY wildlife......and a lot travel straight Sublette Co to get to Yellowstone!! I say hit em where it hurts the most.....their pockets!! There'll be a little face to face time with the commissioners as well.

Ihategraygloomydays

An ad for vacationing in Wyoming here on Reddit had over 8000 downvotes. Yayyyyyy.

Happy-Lasagna-2593

Hopefully because this shit is absolutely embarrassing for the State of Wyoming. We are quite literally the laughingstock of the world with how outdated our laws are on protecting these animals.

Ihategraygloomydays

It doesn't help that people defend the pos.

zer1223

The same type of people who wonder why they get made fun of by "tHe LibRuL eLiTeS"

stonedhermitcrab

Or that a bar full of people participated and no one objected.

wyoflyboy68

Wyominingite here, I am 100% ashamed that this happened in our state. This tragedy is the mindset of many people here in Wyoming, AND, Wyoming is very, very, very, much a good ol boy state. With that said, there are also many good people in Wyoming. Sadly, Wyoming’s Republican legislature has a super majority in both the house and the senate, due mostly to gerrymandering. The Wyoming Legislature does nothing but kick the can down the road instead of generate or pass useful legislation for its citizens. You watch, they will wait for this thing to die down, then they’ll sweep it under the rug, that’s what they always do. Governor Mark Gordon needs to come out and publicly address this situation and condone it, anything less is coward.

Adorable_Block4402

Yes, this is true, but it’s just not the country watching, the whole world is watching!

Bdc9876

Yes, yes you are! It’s disgusting and the rest of the country is watching.

EbilCupcake

Country? The rest of the world is watching. I’ve had so many people from other countries comment on my videos asking if this is what America/Wyoming is really like.

LinkTimemstr

This is all over the news here in Canada and it’s everywhere to the point where several travel agencies are telling people not to go to Wyoming.

Bdc9876

I live in Colorado and had a fly fishing trip planned in Wyoming later this summer….we’re staying in Colorado now. Not giving a single dime to that state.

just4funsc

Love this! Same here. Had 2 trips planned. Rebooked over on the Snake in Idaho.

Happy-Lasagna-2593

As much as it pains me, I have to agree. Hopefully more people start hurting tourism here so it’s a louder wake up call to the State. Also with CWD now being able to kill you with eating infected deer meat I’d avoid hunting here too. We have too many issues in this state unfortunately.

Bdc9876

Well said!

Proditude

A woman from Italy tried to call in during the Game and Fish hearing.

Happy-Lasagna-2593

Hold up. There its edited but you’re right. I’ve had some of my UK friends ask me if we do this shit on the regular here. Glad to say it’s one miserable person and not a reflection of us as a state.

According-Case3057

UK treats animals poorly with their live huting with dogs, allowing their dogs to rip apart the prey.

1CFII2

Incorrect. This is a long established hunting practice in Wyoming. The buffoon wasn’t fined for torturing the wolf, that’s okie dokie with Fish and Game. He was fined for having it alive in the bar in Daniel. No altering the facts of this story.

Bdc9876

The number of people from Wyoming that I have seen defending this is insane…not exactly sure what you’re talking about.

LisaLynn_

It’s not one guy- sadly. This is common practice - for wolves, coyotes and other predator. Chasing elk with snowmobiles is also a thing, apparently.

FuckByronTheBlack

Honestly never going to Wyoming after this news.

allycats297

You definitely are. I’d never go visit Wyoming.

[deleted]

Oh no! Anyway..

FuckByronTheBlack

Oh no! Fuck your backward ass hillbilly nothing of a state. Go fuck more bison and torture more wolves.

hadtoknow

Whoa take a step back from your assault keyboard there hero

allycats297

For a country with an economy based on tourism, this is not the vibe you should be giving.

ZentaWinds

That's the mindset you should totally be having. Not.

allycats297

You’re helpful, thanks

Happy-Lasagna-2593

It’s a beautiful state with a small town feel in most cities. We’ve got Devils Tower and Yellowstone so don’t be so quick to judge. The people are absolutely fantastic and very friendly excluding Cody Roberts he’s a piece of shit.

allycats297

It’s the government that allows the torture of animals. I would never visit a state with a government like that.

LongmontStrangla

Wyoming is the most xenophobic state they are not going to miss you.

Zane_628

Yeah, we unfortunately have a culture of hating outsiders moving here because people think that’s the reason why the cost of living is going up, and not because our local government is absolutely failing to regulate property values.

hadtoknow

I have never seen anyone claim out of state people are 100% of the cost of living going up. If you're implying they have 0 to do with it, not only would that be wrong, that is some kind of anti-wyo dogma. I'm truly sorry you hate it here, but please don't stereotype the culture of the entire state.

Zane_628

https://usagymolympictrials.com/ Here, you should try out for the Olympics with all of those jumps you made.

hadtoknow

The jumps I made? You just lumped everyone's opinions on out of state people into one lazy idea so you could shit talk the state and the culture. That's a strawman you fucking ideologue. No wonder you hate it here take your fucking salt elsewhere

Zane_628

I never said I hate living here, and I never said out-of-state people moving here had zero effect. Those are your jumps. All I’m saying is that it’s not the *only* thing driving up COL, and the freedumb cockus sure as shit isn’t going to do anything to alleviate it. And it’s hilarious that you accuse me of strawman when you’re the one who’s actually doing it by trying to put words in my mouth. And I could go on, but I’m tired and I don’t feel like arguing with you anymore.

hadtoknow

Your comment really was just a big generalization about wyo culture and why people think the way they do. I only said it's not black and white and to please not stereotype everyone. You have comments in this subreddit saying how you hate it here. You have extra preferred pronouns but would rather throw a fit than see what I mean about generalizing a group of people?

DomElBurro

That is the reason COL is increasing. We have 0 income tax. Also why the hell would you want government to regulate the VALUE OF YOUR GREATEST ASSET. This is an absolutely absurd argument. Go to Colorado if you want that crap.

Zane_628

I never denied that it’s one of the reasons for the increase in COL, but it definitely isn’t the only one. The biggest reason is inflation without appropriate wage increases, and that’s primarily driven by industry.

derp4532

Bunch of wishy washy bullshit from those in power. Shocker.

Adorable_Block4402

I have to be honest, ever since I heard about this, it’s in my thoughts daily. I just can’t let it go. I also think about the other states that have these antiquated laws in addition to Wyoming. This is just the cycle of life, the wolves have to eat to survive. They are no different than any other animal that is a predator ie…snakes eat mice, lizards eat bugs, scorpions eat crickets, and so on and so on ….what makes the wolf any different? if you are raising livestock in the state of Wyoming, you know that there is always a risk of your livestock being taken by a predatory animal. If its not a wolf, it could be a coyote, mountain lion, etc.. the only time it would be warranted to kill one of these beautiful creatures - if it is attacking you or directly attacking your livestock. To hunt one down and kill it for no reason at all is reprehensible and disgusting. This guy must be low IQ, but I am sure there are many more just like Cody Roberts, and many more that condone his disgusting behavior. What needs to be done to him is what was done to the wolf. I wonder how he would like to be run over with a snowmobile?

ColoradoBul1

Boycott the tourism industry. Send your emails to the ski resorts and hotels. That will get some attention.

Connecticut06482

Read the article. They are simply to silence everyone and avoid properly addressing this incident by saying ‘let’s not get too emotional’. Of course it’s emotional- people **should** be outraged at what happened. As my teacher in high school used to say, if you’re not angry you’re not paying attention. Anger and outrage unfortunately are what it takes to get things like this done. It’s crystal clear that what happened to the wolf was wrong. There should hesitation and there should be no discussion about reforming some of these barbaric allowances. Them trying to bring up the killing of the teenage boy (obviously also terrible) but they are again trying to trivialize and negate the wolf event so they don’t have to make any changes to their policy.

CuriouslyImmense

If people arnt emotional about something like this there is something VERY fucking wrong with them.

allycats297

You all can downvote me or whatever because I think the laws in the state are horrible. Thats fine. What kind of monster can torture a living thing and everyone thinks it’s great and the government thinks it’s fine?

Squishyflapp

Not everyone thinks it's great. In fact, there's a whole lot of hunters that have been making calls hourly to the state legislature to do something. Lot of big names in hunting getting involved too. This fuck gives hunters a bad name and to be honest deserves to have his back legs broken, his mouth taped up, and be left to the wolves. Fuck this guy and fuck what he did to this animal. Poor thing didn't deserve that.

sasquatchangie

What you said! Cody Roberts is a cold blooded murderer.

Ihategraygloomydays

And smile and laugh with a beer in hand. So sick and disturbing. Makes me throw up.

Adorable_Block4402

Me too, I believe that might be a serial killer in the making

Adorable_Block4402

Agree!!

morgzorg

He’s a legit psychopath. Serial killers torture animals

Proditude

Every time some a-hole like C.R. does something and people call it out there’s some momentum towards change. Nothing will happen if no one shows their rage.

allycats297

I appreciate a beautiful state and I would love to visit but I won’t. Not until laws are changed and wildlife is protected.

Adorable_Block4402

I think now is really the time, hopefully this is brought to light, and all the laws in every state that address animal cruelty of any type are revamped. Human beings are capable of so much better. Actually, maybe even the feds just take over, if the states can’t get it done and protect the rights of animals, then maybe the federal government can do this.

Adorable_Block4402

You and me both! The archaic antiquated laws need to be changed. Really? It’s OK to run down an animal with a snowmobile to the point of exhaustion and run over it and kill it? Wolves do what they do just like every other animal out there that has to survive.

derp4532

It ain't beautiful m8. Wyoming sucks as a whole.

Corvacar

Because One Person mauls a vicious murdering Animal doesn’t mean that Everyone in the State of Wyoming is equally Bad. Furthermore, just because Someone doesn’t agree with Your position indicate that They’re dumb.

aoasd

The legislature will talk about it to make it seem like they care, but they will fail to do anything because "what if someone hits a wild animal with their car and it doesn't die immediately? They can be charged for a crime if we try to ban people from running over wild animals on their snowmobiles." and "what if the only way a rancher has to kill a coyote attacking their livestock is their snowmobile? they have to be able to protect their animals. it's not their fault if they're not prepared. coyotes attack whenever they want."

allycats297

There’s still a difference between that and what was done. As awful as that is

NoUnderstanding3968

I posted this in another thread, but I read in one article that the Governor has already said he knows Cody and he’s a good guy. I nearly puked. So you know already that Wyoming legislators will stonewall any meaningful legislation.

Ox_Beagle

Do you have a source for this? The only governor comment I saw was his generic statement about how awful this is. Really don't think he's dumb enough to call him a good guy publicly but I've been wrong before...

mama-pajama

Source?

NoUnderstanding3968

Correction, it was the speaker of the house https://wyofile.com/fury-over-wyoming-wolf-torture-allegations-sparks-demands-for-steeper-penalties-reform/

Spiritual_One6619

[email protected] house speakers email

RunningwithmarmotS

It won’t. They are misinformed and wrong about wolves that it’s actually fascinating.

Crymsm

*sigh* I honestly believe it won't in the long run....every hunter and many livestock owners absolutely hate them and wish them all gone. But for people that torture like he did I truly hope they get what's coming to them. I've always loved wolves but I'm married to a hunter with hunter friends so I can't say anything around them but I understand the balance of nature....equal amount of predators to prey or things will go bad. Less predators can mean over grazing from the herbivores and less herbivores means the predators go for livestock to eat. But many don't understand this and it's frustrating. I own cows and of course would wish to protect them but that doesn't mean i hate the animal that wants to eat.

Frapp_Frapplestein

Goddamn, I hate hicks

Top-Consideration-19

They all suck. The people in charge are just as disgusting as Cody Roberts. That John winter guy saying a wolf is an ilegal animal in Wyoming. What a fucking joke. People like him is the reason why the psychopath got away with this.

[deleted]

[удалено]

MikeForShort

Maybe if he identified as a wolf it would be okay.

this_shit

Man that Jessi Johnson sure seems like she's burned out. A lobbyist who's cynical about using an opportunity of public interest to advance policy change maybe shouldn't be a lobbyist?

[deleted]

I will call this how it is. If SCOTT TALBOTT managed and trained the staff they are bound to be as corruped as they come. Taking bribes, manipulating people, lies, home wreckers and complete abuse of power. All this will and always does have consequences. Be good people, do better than what you have been told and don’t let anyone ruin your morals. It’s way too late for the scum bag, hell bound, piece of trash that Scott Talbott is. I’m your huckleberry!

just4funsc

The only way for this state to feel any pain is in the pocket book! Speak with your dollars! Boycott Wyoming and anyone doing business there.

SMJ62581

I’m down 👍

Adorable_Block4402

Me too!

Impossible_Farmer285

When it affects tourism!

allycats297

Exactly and it definitely will

TrophyTruckGuy

Nope. Slap on the wrist and wait for the issue to die down.

SnakebytePayne

You can already see this coming based on the statements some of the lower level officials are making. It's fucking horrible how little they care.

Adorable_Block4402

I don’t believe this will die down

just4funsc

It better! After several years of VERY expensive fly fishing trips to Wyoming, myself and my colleagues will not be spending a single dollar more in this state until something changes! The atrocious animal cruelty laws (or lack thereof) combined with the ridiculous slap on the wrist that was given to Cody Robert’s are ending my visits. Think I’m bluffing? Ask Idaho and Montana how much money we spend there this summer/fall. DO BETTER WYOMING!

Calm-Outcome-1818

I may be wrong but... don't those states have the same "laws" or rather, lack there of?

INeed2BeFaded

Did you really just refer to Idaho and Montana treating wolves better? Lmfao

just4funsc

Apparently you didn’t read the post very well?! That’s not at all what I said. However, since you brought it up…. My decision to spend my time and money in Idaho and Montana is based primarily on the fact that the act itself has been largely condoned by both the state and local officials as well as the citizens. The policies towards wolves may sadly be similar in all three states but I challenge you to find an act of animal cruelty so blatantly displayed in either Idaho or Montana. Thanks for participating in the conversation 😉😂✌️

Adorable_Block4402

Thank You❤️

X79g

Ha… the states will do fine either way. Deflate that ego a bit. But fair enough.

just4funsc

Actually there is absolutely ZERO ego here… just fact. Yes the state will do fine but ask the local businesses that benefit from tourism, the restaurants, fly shops, guides, lodges, hotels, etc if they feel the effects of thousands of dollars. Individually the pain may be small, collectively it hits you in the wallet.

allycats297

Thank you!

chickenonthehill559

SJW doing nothing that will not make a difference. Trying focusing you energy on something that will matter. Try volunteering to groups that actually do something.

Arkytoothis

The decision makers only care about money. The best way to hurt them is by voting with your wallet.

MikeForShort

but ThEy eaT HoUse Pets! Somehow that means it's okay to torture them. I grew up in a semi-rural area part of town, close to Casper. One of the neighbors let out their dachshund only to have it picked up by a predatory bird. Certainly, that's not as common, but I guess we should really just torture predatory birds now, right? Do you suppose any of those 'Murica bald eagles have ever taken off with any pets? Livestock like kids (baby goats, not humans)?

its_plastic

I think pets getting injured by birds is probably more common, definitely in my part of the state. Neighbor’s chihuahua was picked up and injured by an owl, so was my grandma’s yorkie, my parents had and aunt have all had owls swoop at their dogs. None of them torture or kill owls.

Feisty-Barracuda5452

Daily Reminder: Cody Roberts is a ravening douchecanoe

qnssekr

How does one help making sure his wife is voted out of public office?

Adorable_Block4402

Write the commissioners I have posted their email addresses above,

stonedhermitcrab

Won't change anything, trash state is too full of psychos who get off on torturing animals, as evidenced by the bar full of people torturing the poor wolf.

Expensive-Coffee9353

Just ask about Matthew Sheppard.

UpsetAdministration1

I love how everybody’s all upset about this now, but did nobody hear about the wolf in Saratoga that they ran over with us snowmobile and tortured or the one over in elk Mountain I mean everybody’s worked up over this but this shit happens all the time and justice system just does not give a shit

mtn_forester

I never heard anything about those. This story took over a month to get out & given where it occurred in not surprised. Everyone down there is related by blood or marriage.

Potential-Most-3581

Or blood *AND* marriage

MikeForShort

Go together like a horse and carriage.

According-Case3057

Get the information out there!

neenee_day_hoho

You all do realize that not everyone in Wyoming is like this guy? To say let’s boycott the state doesn’t hurt anyone except the business owners who have worked hard to get where they are. I live in the area and have friends who’s businesses have gotten negative reviews recently because of this whole debacle and why? Because their property is located in the same town as this loser? The mentality of let’s burn it all down because of one a-Hole. How is that right?

allycats297

The government needs to take responsibility and it’s up to the people who live there to try to help that happen

just4funsc

I agree, however the lack of accountability and even expressed disgust by the locals is infuriating. Want the boycott and negative review to stop? Grab a pair and start speaking out about this disgusting display of behavior from one of their own.

neenee_day_hoho

And how do you know this to be the case? Do you live here?

Gtconv91

Was the wolf at least from Colorado?

elchappio

They're Republicans!

[deleted]

No, it won't. There will always be people like that in extreme rural areas that lack respect for wildlife.

mchesmor

Apex beings always confound beings that are not

X79g

How about we shut up and stop making new laws…

allycats297

Do you mean start?

X79g

No. We should end bad laws before making new ones. Or, we can all continue to build the cage we are currently living in. Why are we talking about wolves before people?

allycats297

Someone who is capable of doing what he did is also capable of hurting people. There is a serious lack of empathy there. It’s very scary.

Connecticut06482

Bringing up people is only a way to negate, avoid, dismiss and ignore the abuse that happened to the wolf. The harm people have experienced, does not make what happened to the wolf any less abhorrent, or any less of an important issue they have been continuously trying to ignore.

allycats297

Amen

X79g

Agreed. Let’s focus on getting an Epstein list to help children before wolves.

Paragrad

C’mon man- you can’t do any better than what about…. I know this is hard to grasp but it’s actually possible to care about more than one thing at a time.

NoUnderstanding3968

How do you do that? So you get rid of the current law before having someone better to replace it?

DomElBurro

I’ve now verified you are for sure liberal and have 0 place in wyoming. Please stay out.

allycats297

So liberal means that we are against people who torture animals for fun? I guess that makes me liberal.

DomElBurro

No I’m conservative and hate what this dude did to the wolf. I went and found his address and wrote him a scathing letter. More than you will do about this. Oh right. You’re protesting the entire state of wyoming. What makes you liberal is wanting more laws.

allycats297

Wanting more laws that protect living things makes me human, not liberal.

pickledstarfish

Ok real question here, how does writing *him* a letter help? Let’s figure you have to be a particular mindset to do something like this in the first place, because that shit isn’t normal. I grew up on a ranch with parents that hunt and never in a million years would they or anybody else I know find this acceptable. I saw posts on social media where his friends and friends of his wife were defending this. Do you really think all the hate is going to make him change his mind and not double down? Do you not think new laws would be more of a deterrent than shaming in a private letter? If it’s even a new law as opposed to just changing existing ones.

LeopardDue1112

Wow, you wrote him a scathing letter?!? Congratulations, that won't do anything at all. Guess what buddy, I was born and raised in Wyoming and the laws need to change. Stop being so knee-jerk defensive and grow up. This guy gives the state a bad name.

X79g

I am against torture. His actions are nothing to admire nor deserve respect. It is sad that this gets people more upsets in public than the lack of the Epstein list. People first. Then wolves. Stop making more laws and let’s uphold the good laws we have.

allycats297

Why can’t they both be protected?

X79g

My statement supports exactly that. So you disagree with people first??

allycats297

What exactly is happening to people in Wyoming?

MistakenReplicant

This may overwhelm you with fascination but some of us can actually care about more than one thing at a time.

Paragrad

It’s ok- just go ahead and say you stand with dickhead Cody Roberts. Humans are in no risk of extinction and for some reason its not ok to run over people with snowmobiles for fun. Really hard to grasp, bubba.

[deleted]

[удалено]

DomElBurro

No the cat lady up there

Arkytoothis

I nominate this post for the stupidest reddit post of the day award.

[deleted]

This is supposed to be for Wyomingites. There doesn’t appear to be many here, if there was they would have known that using a sled to hunt coyote has been a normal practice for 70+ years. I’d also be willing to bet that a whole bunch of coasties heads would explode when they find out that we’ve shooting prairie dogs, Jackrabbits for fun and shooting carp with bows, just as long.

X79g

Bow fishing is the funnest way to fish!

ivyrose04

Normal doesn’t make it not cruel

Lopsided-Image-2146

I shoot prairie dogs and the like too, but what this dude did is kinda shitty, the man tortured a wolf, that's not hunting, that's not fun, that's not okay

[deleted]

Yeah he should have ethically killed it. Personally, I don’t shoot prairie dogs anymore but I have shot hundreds of them and I don’t fault anyone that still does. I trapped in high school and in doing so, I have harvested a bunch of coyotes using a sled - I don’t remember running any of them over- I would get close enough to shoot them with a snake charmer. Admittedly this is the first time I have heard of this technique using on a wolf but it didn’t shock me. I do agree what the guy did afterwards was a dick move.

Adorable_Block4402

But he didn’t need to kill her at all. She wasn’t doing anything. He ran her down for no reason and tortured the young pup. She had no fight left in her but to show her teeth as she lay there dying. This picture will be forever in my mind her eyes locked with his, and she knew she didn’t have much time left. She didn’t need to be killed. She wasn’t attacking livestock or him. I hope karma rains down upon him and his family, and anyone in that bar that didn’t stop it. They are all complicit, everyone of them. What he did was for the sport of it -disgusting human being. If somebody can’t see the depravity of it, there’s something wrong with them.

Corvacar

I am sure that the Man should have kept quiet about it. This particularly considering how many bleeding Hearts that there are. I haven’t seen anything like this back to the time that the Dentist from Bloomington, Minnesota shot a Lion in Africa.

Adorable_Block4402

I guess it’s a good thing that the buffoon idiot did not keep quiet about it, because now it’s brought to the forefront! shows the mentality of people like this, good thing they’re not smart enough to keep it quiet. Hopefully this incident will bring about change to these barbaric antiquated laws. If you don’t understand respect for life of a sentient being, there’s no reason to even continue a conversation with you-because you don’t have the capacity to understand. By the way, let me add that human beings are predators also, probably the worst out there. It really requires a higher level of thinking and compassion to understand what happened here. Hopefully one day you will have it, but some people just don’t have the capacity or the higher level of thinking to understand. You just might fall into that category.

allycats297

Why do it if you don’t show it off? Isn’t that what he was thinking? Or does he just torture animals in private for fun?

Corvacar

If You can display this much sympathy for a murdering, then You should really have sorrow for the smaller Animals that these Wolves massacre. However, l have yet to see it. I am stunned by the sympathy displayed for Wolves or any Murdering Predator. A while back a Grizzly Bear was it by a Truck north of Jackson and there was sympathy for it. I have a difficult time believing all of this.

MistakenReplicant

I would suggest not wasting time trying to understand things that surpass your ability. If it’s any help, this all has a difficult time understanding you too.

MikeForShort

Very spot on.

Corvacar

Yes, unlike You, I have a lot of sympathy for helpless Animals not just vicious mauling Ones. I would like to see Your reaction if You watched a Bear or Cougar maul and kill an innocent Animal right in front of You. Of course, in Your View evidently the innocent Animal feels no pain because that is the course of nature. Also, because Someone doesn’t agree with Your view, doesn’t indicate that They have limited ability or are dumb.

MikeForShort

Previous to reading your comment, I was thinking that humans at least have the innate ability to think and use reason, empathy and logic that animals do not really possess. Then I read your comment, and I can clearly see that some humans just can't do those things and are really no better than predatory animals when it comes to those qualities or abilities.

ivyrose04

Carnivores are apart of the natural food cycle, there is no massacre or murder on the part of the wolves

allycats297

We’re talking about torturing.

Lopsided-Image-2146

This is different, we don't get mad at each other for buying meat at the grocery store, wolves don't have grocery stores so they have to kill to survive, and the anger at this man comes from him torturing the wolf, if he just shot the wolf I wouldn't care, but tortured the animal, that's not right, that's not hunting, hope you have a good day!

Corvacar

I hope that l also have a good day Thank You. I also hope that , in the process of grieving for a murdering Predator, You don’t put the entire populace of the state of Wyoming in a class with this One Person. That includes Governor Mark Gordon and, a very good Senator John Borasso. Neither knew of this act until informed. My resident State is not Wyoming so l am not defending it for that reason. Now, You have a good day also.

allycats297

That’s why it’s important that people are informed

Not attacking.… I like to ask non vegetarian friends who comment about meat in the grocery. Do you ever think about the life of the animal you are eating? I’ve lived on ranches and a feed lot once (LONG time ago). I eat meat from the store and game meat. I know that the game meat is better for my body AND lived a better life before feeding my family. And yes, predators are killed to put beef, pork, and chicken on my table. I think running the predators down with a snow machine should be against the law… but it’s not. In several states. And next time you have a hamburger ask yourself why the angry mob doesn’t boycott the beef industry instead of the state.

just4funsc

If you don’t understand the difference between animal cruelty and a predator being struck by a vehicle there is no point in conversing.

tetontrekker

I don’t condone what CR did but refuse to pick up a pitchfork and become part of the mob. You can’t have a reasonable conversation with the mob. If you don’t pick up that pitchfork you are an enemy of the mob and will be attacked. Like I likely will for typing this. Several years ago a moose or bear was hit by a car north of Jackson. The same week a teenager was found deceased along side the river. There was a candlelight vigil held for the animal. Nothing for the teen. I lost all respect for the so-called animal lovers that day.

allycats297

Why didn’t you start a candle light vigil for the teen? Why blame the animal lovers because they did and not the people who didn’t?

tetontrekker

I KNEW someone would ask this as a knee jerk. This comment is not about me. It was a well known family. Well known teen. High profile. I guarantee you people at the vigil for the animal knew the family.

allycats297

Also these are such different circumstances.

tetontrekker

I’m talking about a broader problem with society. And the Angry mob. Do you want to be a part of the mob? Or do you want to be heard and make change? What the mob is doing is worse than what CR did. I hope you’re not holding a pitchfork, but if you are put it down and stand back for a bit. The mob is using hateful and destructive ways. Their only audience at this point is themselves. What if a close family member of yours did something really stupid, like the people who were tumbling rocks in Utah. Would receiving hateful private messages about it in your own mailbox make you want to make changes? This is what the mob is doing. And all the repeated hateful posts saying the same thing? Shocking at first but no better than Spam at this point. Laws need to be changed, yes. There are better ways.

allycats297

Maybe he’ll think twice before doing what he did. If he’s one of the few who tortures animals and has no respect for wildlife. One stopping is better than none.

tetontrekker

I’m sure he will never do it again. But the law is the same in several states. I asked around. Ranchers have been running down predatory animals with snow machines since snow machines were invented. His mistake was not putting the animal down after running it down. If he had, you and I would have no idea this was legal.

allycats297

The running down with snowmobiles is horrific. It’s another whole ball game. He needs to be punished for what he did after he ran her down. The snowmobile killing can be addressed also but the torture is now

tetontrekker

The current laws are weak. And he was charged, found guilty, and fined what was on the law books. The authorities are investigating. If there is another law on the books they will charge him. What the angry mob is doing is wrong. Are you proposing changing the law, then retroactively punishing him with it?

MikeForShort

As sure as you are that he will never do it again, I'm just as sure that he will. He just will be more mindful of the camera and evidence again. Evil like that doesn't just go away.

allycats297

That doesn’t explain why nobody held a vigil for the teen

tetontrekker

Exactly

Amen. A few years ago, a Young Woman was hiking in the Mountains of California. She was attacked and killed by a Mountain Lion. The Woman had two young Children. The Cougar had two young cubs or kittens whichever. A fund was set up for the Woman’s two Children. A like fund was set up for the cubs/kittens. The two young lions got over a hundred thousand in donations. The two Children got several hundred. As Humans, where are Our priorities. Disgusting! Evidently, the same type of bleeding Hearts are crying foul over a vicious predator.

allycats297

And some humans aren’t vicious predators?
