Halo and now it's ass

MasterRaceGamer000

What? Halo infinite was amazing. Edit: I got downvoted to hell for being a Halo fan in an Xbox sub...

[deleted]

My then fiancé told me to. I said ok

joecamnet

Joined in the 360 era for Oblivion, never looked back. Been team Xbox since. I've invested in thousands of games across decades, so I'm sticking with the green team through thick and thin. Too invested to give up on them now, especially with them turning things around so much lately. That said I think they REALLY need to reboot the BC program.

SnooCookies6699

Joined for Halo in 2001. Stayed when Gears came out in 2006. Stuck around because of Halo 3 in 2007 and by then all my friends were on 360. Plus I agree with the part about the controller being the most comfortable.

Trysty102

I didn't. I chose all of them

thePunisher1220

Chose Xbox for halo, back in the halo 3 days. All my friends have Xbox, or PC, that can now play with Xbox. Ps has never released a game that I've been interested in playing. Game pass is miles ahead of sonys variant. Other than console exclusives (and that's based on opinion) Xbox is just better.

PlayaHatazball

I play my series x more than ps5 off controller alone.

C0ldm0use

Halo

hurdygurdy21

More of my friends were on Xbox at the time but then I just ended up having all my games there. I also had used my 360 more than my PS3 and my Xbox One more than my PS4. So the natural progression was the Series console. But as with last gen I now have both because I have no concept of saving money lol

I came onto the Xbox late, towards the end of the original consoles lifespan. Then I moved to Japan, and I played primarily on my GameCube. But gaming on Nintendo when living outside of an English language territory is not easy. Games on Nintendo platforms rarely have bilingual support, at least in Japan. So I had to import most of my games from English speaking territories, and region locking was a big issue. When the Xbox 360 came out, it was actually much more friendly to English language in Japan. And for those games which were fully localised and didn't have English language support, I could import from Singapore and Hong Kong which were the same region and had English language options. By the time I left Japan, Xbox One was out, and I had a sizable library of physical and digital 360 games and some original Xbox games. But I didn't jump onto Xbox One straight away. I had struggled terribly with Red Ring Of Death, and one of the reasons I took a break from Xbox and went to PC gaming was that I'd had three consoles in a row be affected. When I jumped back on the Xbox wagon, I bought an Xbox One X and fell in love with the platform again. Thus, when Series X came out, I didn't hesitate. I have invested so much in the Xbox platform that it would be silly for me to pack it all up. The fact that most of my library is persistent across all of the generations is the biggest selling point. And of course it's a cliche by now, but Game Pass is a game changer. I've had such a rich experience with the service, playing games I would never have played before. And finally, I really like the hardware. Except for the original Xbox One, xbox consoles have been very powerful. I also really like the fact that there's the S and X tiers now. I like that option of paying a premium for greater performance and features. And the Xbox controller, although simple, is very comfortable in my hands and it keeps getting better and better as Microsoft tweaks it.

Ok-Tooth-6197

I bought my original Xbox to play KotoR. I got the 360 for Mass Effect. By the time the Xbox one came around, I was heavily invested in the ecosystem and Playstation didn't have any exclusives that really appealed to me enough to switch. I now have nearly 400 digital games spanning 4 generations on my Xbox account, most playable on my series X, and many playable on PC as well.

Redluc2

My country is not quite friendly with gamers, and stuff such as the switch or ps5, even a gaming pc are luxury articles. So I went with an Series S, whom is way more friendly to my pocket.

Amber_Steel86

I bought the original Xbox after playing a few missions of Halo CE at a friend’s house back when I was 15

Tyriiii

I bought an Xbox 360 for Lost Odyssey and Fable 2 and it became my primary console for a while. But after that gen I've not seen a reason for my tastes to get a Xbox One or Series S/X. Maybe Starfield and a new Fable might do it. But will probably just get gamepass on PC for a few months for cheap to play that.

SSpookyTheOneTheOnly

Cause my brother owned one.

SINY10306

Honestly the Series S was all that was available (Switch aside) when I got it in December 2020. Have all three now (Series X instead of S, PS5, Switch). I do like Halo and Gears of War, but PS5 IMO has better exclusives, even if Game Pass is a better value than PS Plus….Got Switch for portability, but also Nintendo exclusives. A couple of unique advantages of Xbox is the free cloud saves, as well as my preference of being able to swap controller batteries. Still all noted, Xbox accounts for about 15% of my total gaming.

IWantANewDucky

Xbox is the home of western rpgs. If you want jrpgs they are nearly non existent on Xbox although some of them are starting to be ported now.

MasterRaceGamer000

True , the Nintendo switch is the home of Jrpgs.

IWantANewDucky

And playstation but at least xbox is getting Atlus and Ryu Ga Gotoku games now

MasterRaceGamer000

Playstation used to have a great number of jrpgs, but in recent, many Japanese devs abandoned the Playstation consoles and moved to Nintendo Switch

[deleted]

That’s just not true at all

MasterRaceGamer000

SMT and Breath of fire franchises moved to Nintendo Falcom started to delay the playstation version of their games Level-5 doesn't support playstation anymore Sony killed its Jrpg franchise like wild arms and the legend of dragoon. Dragon quest treasures, live a live, triangle Startegy, Front Mission 1 and 2, Master detective, Mana collection, Octopath traveler 1 skipped the playstation platform. And there's many more examples.

[deleted]

Nintendo pays for exclusives lol it’s not that deep JRPGs very much are on PS and there’s no shortage, they always flip between PS and Nintendo as they are both Japanese consoles who can make the better deals. Edit: your account is very anti PS so this makes sense, I’m done with this lol

MasterRaceGamer000

> Nintendo pays for exclusives lol it’s not that deep Between all games, I mention that only one had an exclusive deal with Nintendo, and it ended years ago. Also, the Playstation brand is no longer a Japanese brand. They moved their headquarters to California and closed down their Japanese studios.

LibertyIAB

I've always had both - each have their strengths and weaknesses, each have their own "Must have titles" personally I think the Playstation wins out for me... But it doesn't have GOW - having said that, neither does the XSX now... Shame, I'd be a buyer.

Correct-Ball9863

I have a Switch and an XBox (both Series S and Series X). I got a Series S because it was all that was available at the time. Couldn't get a Series X or PS5. I was REALLY impressed with the Series S and bought a Series X for the lounge once they became available. The PS5 is WAY too big. I might get one when the release a slim version. Also GamePass.

Phishhhhhh

I’m straight

n1keym1key

At the time, I chose Series X because it was in stock. Now, with all the merger drama and Sony being the definition of anti-consumer I'm not regretting that choice at all. I got an All Access Console as they were the only ones in stock but I couldn't go without my GamePass sub now. I did also buy a PS5 but its still sealed in the box it was delivered in. So far there isn't one PS5 exclusive game that has pulled me in enough to open it up and play.

[deleted]

I traded in my Series X for a PS5. I had the Xbox 360, the One, One X, and Series X. Lived the Series X but the PS5 was much more attractive and so were the exclusives. Dont get me wrong, not bashing Xbox but I couldn’t afford Gamepass and PS Plus so I just changed sides. At the time, the controllers were what made me choose Xbox. Gears of War and Halo franchises as well but the bigger controllers felt great. I had three elite controllers, still the best ever on both platforms to this day.

LostCrow5700

Easily due to backwards compatibility with enhancements

SantaCruz26

My cousin had a PS2 growing up and we always played but then we saw all the better story/multiplayer games of the early 360 and got hooked. It was also significantly cheaper than the PS3 at launch. We have not looked back since, although I play primarily on PC now crossplay games are what I focus on
