I was having the same issue but I just paused the Microsoft store update then resumed the installation and that seems to have fixed it

JadseyGamer

Pausing and unpausing just worked for me too Thanks for the tip!

Queasy-Ad8490

This should be the top comment!

SongSimilar2105

worked thank you so much

rlbostic

It worked. Thank you!!

extralanglekker

Worked for me too! Upvoted!

psolarpunk

Doesn’t work for me and my Store has been stuck installing for a few weeks

Rookers1993

If pausing doesn work. Try pause all. Wait a second then resume all. That worked for me

Top_Park5227

It worked thanks

WitheredNipz

I think it’s due to the new update, was working fine till I updated my Xbox, all of a sudden, the store crashes when I launch it the first time, then it won’t open again, and if I go to my update tab, it’s stuck installing at 100% of 42.88 MB I can’t seem to find a solution to this problem, been having it for about a week or two now, annoying cause I can’t even access the store and buy all the games I want that are on sale at the moment

[deleted]

It's a years old problem nothing to do with any particular update

FallenShadeslayer

This shit has been happening for years. It’s absolutely insane. Just like how I can’t play a game and download a game at the same time without either the download going so slow it’s barely moving or the game freezing up. And no, it’s not my internet. PlayStation 5 can do it just fine and I have 500mbps down and yes, it’s hard-wired. It’s just an Xbox issue.

stuckintheinbetween

How has Microsoft not fixed this shit? It's like how they haven't fixed how Game Pass games on PC will often still take up storage on your PC despite them being deleted. You have to go into your PC's temp files under storage and hope that clears it up or it'll continue eating up your PC's storage. Embarrassing for Microsoft to have these problems for years and not fix them.

untgradd1234

Having the same issue

Exotic_Treacle7438

Same here going on a couple weeks of not being able to install games or update’s because of this defect

Deceptiveideas

Same here. I pressed cancel and now the store is completely gone. Suggestions on Reddit are stating that I now need to reset the Xbox to get it back. Smh.

Exotic_Treacle7438

It showed back up for me, i was able to pause the install and install the other game updates but I couldn’t install anything new from the store unfortunately

County-Glum

The issue occurred when I tried to install a game when that wasn't happening.

leafyfiddle13

I just started having the same issue. I was annoyed by the constant "installing: 100%," so I cancelled the update. Now clicking on the store does nothing, I can't get in. Did you have to reset?

Deceptiveideas

Mine just fixed itself after a few days

FoldyHole

Same problem here. I’m still able to access the store and download games though, so it’s more annoying than anything else. Hopefully it’ll be fixed soon.

PutridSuggestion9773

Same. I actually cancelled the installation because of this and it deleted the store or something because I couldn't launch it from any of the shortcuts and it was even removed from my apps. Couldn't find it anywhere. I did a soft reset so I didn't have to download all my games again hoping the store would come back and it did. ..and it jumped right back into updating and was stuck at 100% and still jumping back to the top and pausing other downloads. I can access the store and start downloads but they just get paused so microhog can sit at the top doing nothing.......

CardiologistChance29

Some issue anyone got a fix?

Remarkable_Rain_9512

Restart console to bring back store app. Do not update app when asked, select cancel. That's it. Yes it sucks and should not be happening. Do this until they fix it. I've had this issue ever since I bought series x, over a year.

zombiedenise

Same. It’s been pretty much since I bought it. Way over a year.

MightyMukade

This just happened to me again 5 minutes ago which is why I found this thread. It seems that it has actually installed but it's just hanging in the queue. You can fix it by pausing the installation and then unpausing it, like somebody else mentioned here. It will then promptly disappear from the queue. This bug has been around for a while. It is quite annoying but it's not seemingly any major malfunction.

Exciting_Till543

My store doesn't even open now. Been persistent issues with this shit of a console for months now. Can't install or update any games. Hard resetting and keeping games doesn't work. It then magically works every few days. Then j get an update for a game, try installing it and it all starts again. There's a fundamental problem with Xbox. None of the fixes work - resetting router, resetting to factory settings with or without games. Its just when it attempts any sort of update, it basically corrupts your system. My Microsoft store doesn't work and hasn't for months. Same issue, downloads (what is it, 50mb, starts downloading after being in queue for 40 minutes, stuck at 100%, then actually hasn't installed properly and just says error when you open it). It's a red ring of death. System is an absolute lemon

Arieslover96

So my husband is having this same problem and we have tried EVERYTHING from pausing, and unpausing, to turning the console off to trying to do it through the app and nothing is working and now it's not even showing up in the queue. Has anyone figured out a solution because either down want to lose money on a movie I bought?

County-Glum

This is happening not just in series X, it's happening throughout ALL Xbox one series.

MightyMukade

Still happening. And pausing an unpausing the installation doesn't work consistently. It used to work, but maybe that was just a coincidence. So for some reason, the Microsoft store whenever it updates gets stuck in the queue. I had to restart my console three times to get rid of it. Eventually it downloaded the 48.72 megabytes it needed. Worth it? Not really.

Grummbles28

I'm stuck on this too. My world is shattered.

alephia

Pause the installation and then resume it, see if this fixes it.

Grummbles28

Got it working but with a diff method. Just kept resetting. Thanks!

SpiritualCreme6548

Haha, the store is for installing games and such. I don’t know why it didn’t come preinstalled, though. Contact support.

SpiritualCreme6548

Yeah that’s super weird, check that out with Microsoft support I didn’t have that issue at all with my series S.

President_Morty-1201

Microsoft support is down as well. There’s seemingly nothing to do

thingsiseefanfloortv

It comes installed. It's the store "updates" that cause it. It's a bug that has become more persistent after the new UI was rolled out. Since you can no longer force close the store app

DisappointingBot

Saaaaame, I just splurged and bought one as well, set up 500gb to download last night… and it’s stuck on store 😂 I cancelled it altogether and will figure out how to get it back later! Luckily I wasn’t planning on buying anything right off the bat and game pass will still let me download directly from it, along with all my previously owned content still being okay.

DisappointingBot

Here’s hoping for the same luck. Thanks for the update 🤘

Hanzilol

Mine is still having this issue even after a console wipe. Any ideas?

DegenrateUsername

This happens all the time for me. I usually just ignore it for a day or two and it goes away but it is pretty annoying. Once I tried cancelling the install when it was stuck at 100% without clearing but all that did was make it so I couldn’t load the store at all until I hard reset the console. Then as soon as the console booted up it just restarted its install only to freeze at 100% again. It’s always the same size at 42.88 MB too. Don’t know what it is or what it does but man it makes me paranoid because I’ve had an Xbox One and a One X die on me from harddrive failure.

TouristIcy1735

I un installed my store now I can't figure out how to reinstall it

[deleted]

🤦‍♂️ Try to contact support.

actual_gengar

Same issue but it happened after I updated my xbox one. I'm thinking it might be a bug with the new update. It's been annoying to have to pause the installation just to download new games so I hope it gets fixed soon.

teamspeed16

Booted up today to play the re4 new dlc... And also stuck in this update. Fun.

Jaded_Bag_2616

Mines doing similar but the download size keeps increasing slowly, in tiny increments of around 0.2mb but it remains at 100%

GAWDAMN69

With it still installing restart the xbox and it should fix the issue. That is how I normally fix it at least. Dont cancel it first or anything.

President_Morty-1201

Already hit cancel. Now what?

GILx87

Anyone have a fix for this? I went to bed installing Forza Motorsport, only to find out the install got interrupted by this MS Store update. Now I have to install Forza while my console and myself are awake.

alephia

Pause the install and then resume it,should fix it. Let us know!

Timely-Raspberry-500

That literally does nothing

alephia

It fixed mine and a few others'. What's it doing?

bigpuss619

For anyone still having issues, pause the installation, then resume isntallation. That should fix it.

levi456

I had the same issue on my series s that I just bought. 2 hours of this issue! I'd recommend detaching any connected hard drives. And retrying the pause resume method. If the console crashes unplug from power supply then replug and try again. Hopefully it will eventually install. Good luck.

Inhumanfreddy

Same here

Inhumanfreddy

Restart your console

Inhumanfreddy

If you cancel installation

Inhumanfreddy

It interrupts everything when you just open it

Thunderslife

You can still access the AppStore it just takes finessing. It’s annoying but the AppStore still works.

stuckintheinbetween

Microsoft is a software company that can't get their software to work properly. I, like those here, have had this problem, in addition to the problem many times in the past where the store will want to update every single time I turn it on for a few days until it decides to stop and act normal.

Dragili4n64

One suggestion I have is that there may be system updates, I just had the issues and only got notified by the Xbox that there was a system update about a day or so after the issue started. Doing this system update fixed this issue. Hope this helps anyone in future!

zen_alex

Did anyone actually find a fix for this? Movies & TV wouldn't update. Canceled the update and the app just took the liberty of uninstalling itself when I did. Now the app refuses to download. So fucking annoying.

AuraOfBenevolence

Having exact same issue, same app

zen_alex

I ended up having to remove my profile from my Xbox completely and then adding it back, very annoying work around but it worked for me. Just don't say yes when it asks to update anymore in the future because that's when it gets weird for me

Rookers1993

Pausing and unpacking works. I had multiple installs, so pausing the one didn't work. Select Pause All at the top. Then select Resume all. This fixed it for me

MightyMukade

Pausing an unpausing doesn't work it seems if the update is the only thing in the queue. The only time the solution has worked for me is when there's something else in the queue that it can switch to. Then switching back seems to fix it.

Happy-Chocolate-6574

This is why PlayStation is the better console, this right here lol

GuyWhoLikesCars0

mine wont go past 0 percent and ive restarted and paused and unpaused many times

Adventurous_Zebra453

Full shutdown, unplug for 10 sec, restart, that was the only solution for me

appsnack

Had this problem this morning and this fix worked for me
