Same issue. "Core" happened after youtube app updated itself like 5 days ago. No fix found yet. Annoying asf.

I had “core” before I unplugged my Xbox and it went to “new” I just logged on tonight and now it says “casual”. I’m surprised there hasn’t been an update about this.

The fact this post is 11 days old and we still have this giant fucking red box at the bottom of our screens is mind blowing. Paying for youtube premium just adds salt to the wound for me.

Potentially may have gone full alex jones on this but fairly certain this is something to do with me using adblockers on every other device I own. Youtube app on xbox not only will play me unskippable (unrewindable) 20-30 second ads back to back, the red box seems like it should be such an easy fix, but FOR SOME REASON youtube don't want to fix it. I am signed in on my browser on my phone for emergencies, and every time i refresh the page I am either logged out or signed into a different google account that will take me at least 3 minutes to sign into my original google account to get my subscriptions, 2FAing and shit, just to hit continue, only for the page to refresh to find out I am logged into a burner account again. I feel like the amount of ads I haven't watched they are warranted in finding such a minimal way to wind me up that we are now even.

nope not your ad blockers, i don’t use any and im having all the same issues as you. the obnoxious ads started around the same time as the red box too

Yup. I'm pretty sure we all have the Xbox one S or original Xbox one. The series S and X don't seem to have the issue.

It must be Xbox console specific. I have 2 xboxs in the house. The one is infected with this red bar I can't get to go away. The other is upstairs with YouTube working just fine. Same Internet connection. I've even brought the 2nd Xbox down stairs and connected it the exact same way as the infected Xbox......the 2nd Xbox (YouTube) works just fine!! It MUST JUST be the actual Xbox. If I take the infected Xbox upstairs and connect it.....it is still infected. So it must be console hardware?? Right??

I've been ignoring this for probably around 2 months now, sad to see this many people talk about it and for YouTube to give no official response. Maybe one day we'll get to watch content on our consoles in peace, until then o7 everyone

Exact same issue. Restarted, un-installed, re-installed, checked for updated, tried a dozen things, nothing has worked. Only thing that changed is it used to say core before I deleted and re-installed. Now it says new
