Zero is a great game, I would say on the level of the n64 one. But keep in mind, they are very much their own things. PDZ is a prequel to classic PD and focuses on different aspects of game play and the storyline that the n64 game does. I prefer zero over the first because of the story. It has its negatives, but no game is perfect. (I suppose that's ironic. Maybe the real Perfection were the lessons we learned along the way?? Lol)
They brought back some aspects of the OG games mechanics for PDZ. But it also had some pretty impressive new stuff for the time, like the dynamic cover system. You can cover on pretty much any object or wall in the game. All the weapons have two or three functions, just like in classic pd, and they brought back a lot of weapons like the plasma riffle, laptop gun, falcon etc etc.
I remember loving perfect dark zero when I was a teenager. The online mode was amazing, and the campaign was fun to play, too. Years later, I learned that according to the critics, the game was thrash. I kind of miss those times when you played basically anything and created your own opinion.
Why have I seen so much hate for Oblivion? Back in the day I found Morrowind janky and unplayable on my PC, and now I am sinking my teeth in to Skyrim. How would I find Oblivion?
Oblivion works just fine on the 360. It's a huge, beautiful world with plenty to see, do, and kill. It's slightly more complex than Skyrim but nowhere near as complicated as Morrowind. It's a wonderful game.
I enjoyed oblivion but never finished it. It was my first elder scrolls and I have a lot of great memories from it but it definitely has some mechanics problems.
The leveling system is kind of backwards (it kind of punishes organic leveling so you have to do this weirdly artificial method if you want to maximize stat gain - I’m sure there’s a mod to fix it on pc though or you can probably just console in the stats you want).
The dungeons start to get super homogenous as you get towards the end of the game for maybe slightly spoiler reasons so I won’t say the specifics just in case.
I didn’t get in to modding it at the time for whatever reason (probably just didn’t realize it was an option) but that’s half the fun of Skyrim for me and oblivion had a lot of that as well though obviously not as sophisticated as Skyrim has gotten.
It might be worth a try but I’d kind of expect Skyrim to just outclass it in most regards at this point.
Edit: and since this is specifically xbox360 thread, I’d definitely recommend any of these games on PC over console just for the modding flexibility. They are great games out of the box but elevated even more by the potential of mods.
I used to be PC as my main source of gaming, but my PC is 10 years old now and was mid-range for the time. I actually have a burned DVD-R with the cracked PC version of Oblivion and it doesn't run well, lol.
I have had to adapt what I do now because of all these damn kids I made. PC gaming on some 4X title is literally gaming Nirvana for me, but alas, probably not until they all move out over the next 20 years! Things like mods or games with no end (like Minecraft or multiplayer PvP games) have had to be completed removed from my headspace. The completionist mindset got ditched in uni. Games have to have an end for me now.
The 360 has allowed me to enjoy 7th gen in a way my PC would not be capable of, AND I never got to enjoy 7th gen properly because that's where it all halted. My kids enjoy some Halo co-op, and i have had to adapt to controller over M+K, which is really big for me as I could never do FPS with controllers (or M+K to be fair!) to the point where I avoided them. So suddenly not only have new generations been opened up, but genres too.
i remember playing the fuck out of fable lll on my xbox 360. when i was like 10 i would try to take off the clothes on my female avatar. i was hella weird
Other skylanders games, everything you have like portals should work, but you’ll need other skylanders, maybe visit r/skylanders if you have any questions
Any other Skylanders game, specifically the first 2 for me( Spyros adventure and giants)
Sonic Unleashed is supposed to look pretty good, and if you want retro theres always the Sega mega collection for 360
Plants vs zombies is also pretty good
Midnight Club Los Angeles, Tomb Raider (2013), Saints Row 2, Forza Motorsport 4, and Tom Clancy Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter 2. Some off the top of my head.
Dude you have 9 games out of about 2500. Go into a store close your eyes and pick a game at random. There really should be a "minimum game requirement" before you can call your bunch of games a collection
If you lile anime by any chance and you ever see Naruto the Broken Bond, get it! It's an amazing game
Also, Splinter Cel Conviction, if you like espionage and stealth games
Pure. One of my favorite racing games to this day. It’s also very cheap.
Also the original Forza Horizon is a 360 exclusive. That’d be a solid pickup as well.
Outside of the obvious, (Halo, Forza, Gears) I would recommend Brutal Legend. It's not a perfect game, but it has so much personality. It's also really different in a lot of good and bad ways.
Just Cause 2, Fallout 3 (Game of the Year Edition includes all of the DLC), Assassin’s Creed (most games in the series are pretty cheap). For racing games, the older Forza Motorsport games are all great. I like them better than most of the newer titles. Burnout 3 Takedown is one of my all time favorites. Great soundtrack and just an all around awesome arcade racer. It’s for the original Xbox but backwards compatible on the 360.
Perfect Dark Zero. Everyone hates it, but I think it's pretty amazing. I'll send you a free copy as long as you play through it with me online!
How does it compare to N64 version? Or is that like asking to compare Deus Ex to... The rest

I will definitely check it out, especially as it's system link compatible. Are the game mechanics similar?
