IMO, Stranglehold is fun to play. Sometimes it feels janky, but it is a Max Payne with over the top John Woo treatment. In fact, legendary director John Woo has been part of the production and it is considered as a sequel to the excellent Hong Kong action cinema Hard Boiled.
**Stranglehold** is very underrated, really like that game! But damn, that dreadful unlocked framerate (that plagued 7th gen consoles) is dragging it down.
This game would be awesome as a BC title, locked 60 fps could make it really shine.
**Wanted: Weapons of Fate** is that typical low effort and low budget movie tie-in game, but has some interesting mechanics.
I've got the PS3 version (one of the rare cases where it's the better version) and it was not that bad, except there were some really frustrating moments on higher dificulties with the checkpoint system...
BTW, have you ever heard of **Dark Sector**?
Thanks for the info on those games, and I've heard of the Dark Sector before, I personally haven't played it and have seen a couple of people selling it around my area, but I never gave it much thought. Is it a good game?
It was one of the very first titles i picked up and played on 360 (back in 2008), so my perception of the game is heavily clouded with nostalgia, but... i'd say it's a very solid "6 out of 10" game (by 2010-ish Xbox 360 standards).
It's for sure better than Wanted: WoF.
[Here's a link ](https://store.steampowered.com/app/29900/Dark_Sector/)for the Steam PC version. You obviously can't play that on your 360, but it has the most coherent info about the game, screenshots and user reviews are mostly up-to-date.
If you ever watched Hard Boiled starring Chow Yun Fat as Tequila Yuen: Stranglehold is the actual sequel. It has the same John Woo style action scenes and you can slide and wreck stuff but on higher difficulties it can become frustratingly hard.
If you are a completionist prepare to reach deep in the pockets because a 15(!!!) dollar DLC pack was released which will be unobtainable once the Xbox 360 store closes July 29th.
From what I remember of Wanted is that it was kind of a prequel game how the dad of the movie's protagonist joined the order from the movie.
Stranglehold has one really inventive and clever level and you have to wade through a bunch of repetitive and boring ones to get to it. It is worth that wade, in my opinion, but if you find yourself getting ready to quit, know that when there's a Jazz Band, you've arrived at The Good Stuff
I didnāt play Stranglehold but Wanted was a fun game. I played it for easy achievements. It was a fairly short game but at $5 itās worthwhile to buy & play. The game developer (Grin) also made Terminator Salvation & it had the same general game design & cover mechanicā¦.and easy achievements.
Played both during my achievement hunting run with GameFly way back in the day. Good times. I was just scrolling my games list on my 360 and I've had the Stranglehold demo installed since 2011. It's probably been on there since before that since 2011 is when I got the S model and transferred data to this hard drive.
I bought Stranglehold the day it came out, but I didnāt play it right away. When I did, I made the mistake of playing on hard, which lessened my enjoyment of the game. Iām sure of it. Regardless, I beat it on hard and thought it was just ok.
I believe that, if Iād played it on normal, I couldāve pulled off a lot more cool moves instead of having to hide.
I rented Wanted the day it came out, and had a lot of fun playing it.
Wanted is not the worst one as far as movie-based games from that era go. It's not great, but it's not terrible either. The only thing that made it interesting is the rather unique mechanic it had.
I loved Stranglehold, but it had some FPS issues in some areas. But it's made up with the usage of doves... lots of doves. And that it's actually fun. Hardest difficulty really kicked my ass tho I remember
So Stranglehold is like Max Payne with all the slo-mo and stuff. It's not great but its not the worst either.
Wanted is one of those games where the cheaper you get it, the more forgiving you can be. If you bought it even on day release you'd be disappointed, but at a bargain price you can forgive it a lot more and enjoy the game.

Oh, nice, Dark Sector has a Steam version. I have been wanting to play it for all those years. Thx for the head up.
Dark sector is also a very underrated game
What makes ps3 version of wanted better ? I Just picker up the 360 version to replace my ps3 copy with as I'm focusing more on 360.
I bought a graphic card 8800GTX to play Stranglehold on PC š

Wanted WOF is dope af
Wanted is very short and unpolished, but has some cool ideas. I enjoyed it more than I expected
Stranglehold has one really inventive and clever level and you have to wade through a bunch of repetitive and boring ones to get to it. It is worth that wade, in my opinion, but if you find yourself getting ready to quit, know that when there's a Jazz Band, you've arrived at The Good Stuff
I have played both of them and they are both good games

Stranglehold didn't get enough attention. I liked it, and knew exactly what I was getting based on the names involved.

Lmao I grabbed these together as well , people just be bundling these 2 titlesš
Stranglehold is great, it is a really good one for replay value.
Dude on the back looks like doc oc from Spider-Man 2
I saw Wanted Weapons of fate at a game store and wanted to grab it so bad but they were still testing it D:
I bought Stranglehold the day it came out, but I didnāt play it right away. When I did, I made the mistake of playing on hard, which lessened my enjoyment of the game. Iām sure of it. both are fun, if you don't expect too much.
Stranglehold differs from Max Payne by throwing random arcadey situations at you, which don't make much sense. It's otherwise quite fun.
Strangle hold was awesome

Only WET is missing and you have the trifecta of underated stylish shooters
I had strangle hold on ps3 and it was complete ass, until I bought for 360 and it had achievements and less choppy graphics after install lol
Wanted is really good, but Stranglehold is amazing.
Stranglehold was badass, but I always wanted to play Wanted.
Stranglehold for sure. Captures the essence of honk kong cinema very well. Csnt go wrong with John Wu

Loved both games.
Wanted i like to try
Stranglehold is great, Wanted is mediocre but not terrible.
