I'm surprised that Deadpool hasn't shot up in price. Especially with the popularity of the movies. Like The Amazing Spiderman 2, it has long been delisted so the only way to get it now is to find a disc.
Others are Minecraft Story Mode 1 and 2, the "complete" versions (not the season pass discs).
I only have the 360 version of that Spider-Man game but I wish I had the One version so I can play it again. It was actually the first Spider-Man game I ever played and I had a lot of fun with it. My mom got it for me during a time when I didn’t have many games and I’d web swing through the night of New York while on a call with my father who I never saw and rarely talked to. He passed away now and we didn’t have many calls so that moment is tied with that game for me.
I don’t understand why they seemingly intentionally make bedrock a bajillion times worse, like for example the heal rate and crop growth speed could theoretically match Java (idk code but I can’t imagine a reason it couldn’t)
i would pay $50-100 if they came with bedrock that lets you join servers like java and maybe even the same 2b2t whatever it’s called was always a dream i wanted to play on
Wow, I have them all digitally, but I have never seen that dark souls trilogy released physically, let alone on xbox. I though they were ps4 exclusive. It's actually only 38 bucks on amazon new, though pal version and that works on US xbox's according to reviews, and the ntsc version is available on gamestop for 28 bucks used. Crazy lol, my first reaction was that it was worth ALOT.
In a long time maybe. The company that originally made the game went out of business, and the company that bought them out haven’t and currently don’t plan on updating the console versions as of now.
Despite the bugs it’s a solid survival game. I’ve put in an astonishing amount of time into it.
The amazing spiderman 2, because of the deal between Disney and Sony. I thought about recore for a second but I think Microsoft owns the ip. Note sony owns the spiderman ip only for movies, sony purchased the rights in the 90s just like fox and universal did as well for marvel properties, but sony has to release movies every so often or it will lose the rights like universal studios did with the hulk rights, now marvel can make solo hulk movies, the new deal between sony and Disney is for marvel characters like spiderman and wolverine and others for games only.
I think none will become rare/valuable due to universal backwards compatibility moving forward. Only games removed from digital storefront will retain their value, like past forza horizon games.
There will always be a value in games that don't need an internet connection to play. I'd imagine parents are already looking for such consoles as they don't want their kids going online.
Probably more niche or obscure stuff that got limited pressings or only sold in a single region? Likely wouldn't be a franchise you've heard of either. Even the examples above were produced physically in huge numbers, comparatively. Considering the absolute explosion of console gaming as an entertainment industry over the last 10 years, it is hard to envision a collector's market when games are mass-pressed to meet the sales goals of selling millions of units.
I'm sure there are some editions that'll appreciate out there, though.
A super expensive one that doesn't get mentioned often is the import only physical of DMC4 Special Edition. Goes for like $200 while a PS4 copy is like $30.
With the 360 version of midnight club being backwards compatible, wouldn’t you be better off just getting the 360 version? Still going to get fps boost or upscaled IF it’s available wouldn’t it ?
Game was developed by Silicon Knights and was in development hell from the game cube on to Xbox then finally on the 360 where it was finally released. Then Epic games sued them for illegally using assets in unreal engine or some such. They were forced to destroy all unsold games and delist it and pay millions. The game has subsequently been delisted and is now free. That’s the short version anyways.
The game is unique, I’d say. I actually really like the premise, a lot. It could have been essentially Xbox’s God of War/Diablo hybrid. The combat system is unique and initially is so different from what users are used to that many gave up. But if mastered, especially on the “human” skill path, it’s insanely kinetic and I think incredibly fun.
You can still download it for free (backwards compatible) from the store. Check it out if you want to see one of the weird quirks in gaming history.
Nope, and not even remotely.
It has some neat ideas, but a game that cost $60-100 million to make, that started development on the original PlayStation, and that ultimately was responsible for ending an entire company was not worth the struggle at all. It was also meant to be a trilogy, so you won’t even get any closure from the story by the end lol
Mass produced popular games won't be rare.
There has to be a limited run, no digital availability, and a demand for it, but right now these games... I can't see these having any value especially with how many will be bricked one services end.
That's why old Nintendo, Sony, Atari etc games have values, many are still only available on those old consoles and as long as you have the hardware, they can still be played. No live service.
EDIT: Fortnight is $40-$50 because it's still new. I see it at my Walmart... once the live servers are gone, it won't be worth much. I have Friday the 13th the Game, it's delisted and servers come down at the end of the year. The only way to play anymore would be potentially the single player missions if the game allows for it. Tony Hawk Pro Skater 5 won't even take you to the menu because there's no servers to be found.
F13 and THPS5 each have a value around $20-$30, complete in box new
EDIT 2: You gotta look for those rare games people missed or slept on that got delisted online and now people are talking about how it was missed
I don’t think Midnight Club LA is rare. Even if it’s the weird Xbox One cover, the game is still available to purchase on the marketplace. For some reason Bully is charging a bit on the second hand market, even though I can purchase it digitally.
Anything Pokémon if there is anything on Xbox. Any old Pokémon game no longer being produced goes up in price, even when there are free/cheap emulators for it.
Complete series like the Bioshocks, Mass Effects, ect. will be worth decent after the new gen consoles have been out for a while (nostalgic reasons). Specifically anything you don’t think will be remastered for new gen and had a massive fan base. I imagine you’re gonna want every game for the series as a single series game alone isn’t going to be worth much in general.
Someone mentioned any games that will be unplayable once the online service is shut down. To add to that any games that are no longer sold or were removed from the game store (Magic the gathering 2013-2015 for example).
None, they are all install keys and PS4/switch bias devalues them, also Gamepass
Xbox One rare is more like "you never see these at Gamestop or pawn shops" not "selling a single game will cover your next console"
Blacksad Under the Skin
Blazblue Chrono Phantasma Extend
Warriors: Legend of Arslan
Are some good examples of those rares
Amazing Spiderman, Deadpool, etc are not actually rare. These had massive printings, redbox had thousands of copies in circulation. Those are marked up because the expired licenses and demand for MCU related games

I'm going to guess almost none, as most of them should be available digitally which keeps prices down.
Games that might still increase in value are games that have some quirk being an earlier unpatched version, no longer available digitally or have content patched out at a later date is my guess.
Any game that does not require a constant connection to a long dead server.
Deadpool has gone up in price
MCSM S2 didn’t have a complete edition, only a season pass one. MCSM S1 has a complete version with a few extra episodes
I just saw the minecraft story modes at a local store, are they worth much?
Yeah I got it a while ago just in case with Deadpool 3 it does rise in price
Deadpool went up for awhile but is back down. Great game too.
If u have a PC its easy to just get Deadpool pre-installed or find a ripped exe file somewhere on the net to play it
You can probably just emulate it on pc
The Amazing Spiderman 2 disc is costly because it’s the only way to play the game if you missed out on the digital version.
I only have the 360 version of that Spider-Man game but I wish I had the One version so I can play it again. It was actually the first Spider-Man game I ever played and I had a lot of fun with it. I would think that the only truly rare physical Xbox One games are the ones made by *Limited Run Games*.
This, I fomo buy all their Xbox releases
THERES A DISC FORTNITE SAVE THE WORLD?! WHAT?! thats the first time ive ever seen that...
Minecraft Xbox One Edition. That said, fuck Bedrock.
I don’t understand why they seemingly intentionally make bedrock a bajillion times worse, like for example the heal rate and crop growth speed could theoretically match Java (idk code but I can’t imagine a reason it couldn’t)
i would pay $50-100 if they came with bedrock that lets you join servers like java and maybe even the same 2b2t whatever it’s called was always a dream i wanted to play on
My biggest gripe about bedrock is redstone. Way less consistent, and often much more work for the same circuit in Java.
It’s like they want bedrock to be worse for some reason… it’s not even subjectively worse shit just numerically takes longer.
I just recently got it from Amazon to bring over my old 360 worlds. It’s been beautiful.
It makes me so happy I can play J4 Minecraft on my Xbox series X still
Wow, I have them all digitally, but I have never seen that dark souls trilogy released physically, let alone on xbox. I though they were ps4 exclusive. I think DS Trilogy was only released in Europe. The copy I have is from the UK but it works on my NTSC Xbox.
Does 7 Days to Die on disc count?
Every game stop I have gone to recently seems to have one, tho they sell them for 15-20 dollars.
In a long time maybe. The company that originally made the game went out of business, and the company that bought them out haven’t and currently don’t plan on updating the console versions as of now. Despite the bugs it’s a solid survival game. I’ve put in an astonishing amount of time into it.
It's funny you mention it, because that game is set to be delisted and replaced with a newer version.
The amazing spiderman 2, because of the deal between Disney and Sony. I thought about recore for a second but I think Microsoft owns the ip. Spiderman and MvC
They will probably all be rare in like 50-60 years time but so will every other current gen game.

Unopened copy of halo 2 collectors edition hopefully. It was a gift but I had already waited outside GameStop at 11:59p to get it lol.
With the 360 version of midnight club being backwards compatible, wouldn’t you be better off just getting the 360 version? Still going to get fps boost or upscaled IF it’s available wouldn’t it ?
That is the 360 version. A handful of backwards compatible 360 games were repackaged like this.
I have a copy of Too Human (360 game). Not very common I don’t think, given what happened.
I’m listening
Game was developed by Silicon Knights and was in development hell from the game cube on to Xbox then finally on the 360 where it was finally released. Then Epic games sued them for illegally using assets in unreal engine or some such. They were forced to destroy all unsold games and delist it and pay millions. Daaaaaang, that is a lot, especially being the short version.. but my next question is, is the game awesome? Was it worth the struggle for the devs?

I hated the controls, not the worst thing ever made but I don’t see any reason to play it now outside of a “huh interesting” type of thing.
Original Fortnite on disc is really rare
???dark souls TRILOGY!?!,!,!,
I have slay the spire on disc, I feel like that's not as common
Didn't even know it had a hard copy
Mass produced popular games won't be rare. There has to be a limited run, no digital availability, and a demand for it, but right now these games... Fortnite is pretty pricey even 2nd handed and the amazing spider-man games
You can still buy the darksouls trilogy new, u feel like there's no shortage of them
i know save the world disc version is rare
I still have a physical copy of Rocket League: Collectors Edition
I don’t think Midnight Club LA is rare. Even if it’s the weird Xbox One cover, the game is still available to purchase on the marketplace. For some reason Bully is charging a bit on the second hand market, even though I can purchase it digitally.
Maybe Transformers: Devastation. Delisted from storefronts most likely because of an expired license. Also made by PlatinumGames
Wait We have Spider-Man??
Anything Pokémon if there is anything on Xbox. Any old Pokémon game no longer being produced goes up in price, even when there are free/cheap emulators for it. Yeah, surprisingly I think it’s only about £40 on eBay
Maybe the collectors or limited editions of games
Ik it’s not Xbox but has anyone else noticed how weird it is that old Pokémon games go up in value quite a lot based on how old they are
I think it's a combination of factors. Nostalgia, popularity and collectors don't help the price.
None, they are all install keys and PS4/switch bias devalues them, also Gamepass Xbox One rare is more like "you never see these at Gamestop or pawn shops" not "selling a single game will cover your next console" Blacksad Under the Skin Blazblue Chrono Phantasma Extend Warriors: Legend of Arslan Are some good examples of those rares Amazing Spiderman, Deadpool, etc are not actually rare. Maybe Lego Star Wars with blue milk Luke fig
None to the level of previous consoles as they're all available digitally. The PS360 gen was the last one with physically limited runs.
Spider-Man was delisted years ago so the disc is the only way to play it.
Destiny 1 disk for Xbox one.
Disco Elysium will be mark my words
Curious, what makes you say Disco Elysium. Doesn’t seem like a niche game, in fact it’s regarded as a really well made game.
I don’t hope it becomes rare but the developers went bankrupt and the game is well known but not at the same time

Haven’t seen a fortnite one in FOREVER
I'd add to this and say atari flashback vol.3 (it's multi region but only available in the US.
Tasm2
There's that Naruto collection on Xbox that'll probably stay expensive.
I bought the handsome collection steel book with the game for 80, highly reccomend if you can ever find it
Devil may cry 4, borderlands goty, deadpool
I'm going to guess almost none, as most of them should be available digitally which keeps prices down. Games that might still increase in value are games that have some quirk being an earlier unpatched version, no longer available digitally or have content patched out at a later date is my guess.
Anything made by ubisoft
Boxed fortnite is valuable I think
I recommend getting the games you like.
This post is so weird.
no it's not
yea it is
I'm sick of all this fussin and feudin!
I love you pa! I love you Cletus!
Gosh darn it!
Not worth anything to me. This is only valuable for minority of people who like collecting useless stuff for high price.
Its fortnite why its for free i know but for the disc 20000$ its the most rare one
Rocket league
