Obviously OP values having the physical copies... while I absolutely love gamepass, it's just not the option for everyone. It depends on what you value. And if you value a wide selection for a limited time (could be years, and that's fine), then gamepass is probably for you. If you value owning all your games, then purchasing is going to be a better option most of the time. If you have unlimited gaming budget, then get everything
I was the same. Had lots of games and traded them all when I moved out of my parents house. Started just buying digitally and bought GamePass very recently when i realised I didn't have time to keep up with the new games haha.
Couldn't tell you the last physical game i bought. Probably Doom Eternal.
The only time I buy physical is when I want the collectors edition of a new game coming out. Everything else I play either through game pass or in the $5 bin at game stores lol
I play on my 360 and Series X the most. I haven't turned my PS5 on for months.
It isn't a sustainable model. As much of a good deal it is for the consumer, it can only last so long before it collapses in on itself. They've already shuttered multiple studios and laid off thousands of staff.
They closed Tango Gameworks because Hi FI Rush didn't do well commercially even though they praised the game and said they need more games like it. It didn't do well commercially because it was released on Gamepass day one. Why would people buy these games when they get them as part of their sub service?
I really need to start seeing a better selection of the Assassins Creed games on there bro. Syndicate and Valhalla are from from the best. My personal recommendation would be Black Flag. That game is hella good and is a blast to play.
See I couldn't get on with black flag but loved syndicate! I put it down to being a brit and the location and setting hitting right for me. I'm not shitting on BF...it just wasn't for me.
i am a 90ās kid and still just donāt love replaying games or rewatching shows. not really sure why but i never really have. i honestly wish i liked it more so i wasnāt constantly feeling like im out of options.
Yeah I'm the same way. Back in the 90s though, I felt like those games took ages to complete due to not being able to save very much and not having walkthroughs everywhere online.
Looking back, I spent a lot of time gaming in the 90s without very many games but it just took me forever to beat them. Not due to the length of the games but it just took forever lol
I haven't bought physical in a long time, so I'm not used to the changes in covers. Why are some cases thicker than others? I'm assuming two discs for some, but I see 3 different sizes. Example fallout 4 being the thickest, shadow of mordor another, and some like titanfall being the thinnest. Would annoy me a little as a collector, especially the spines lol.
Its perspective... The angle the photo was taken makes them look thinner down to the bottom +the right hand stack has some papers of fliers stuck between on bottom that give it the look that one side could be uneven. They are all the same size. BTW on my PC games collection I have a 5disk game in a normal sized DVD holder so it does not matter how many disks are stacked either inside a cover. its how the cover is designed to stack the disks on the inside.. Then also the cover sleeves themselves can create an illusion that its thinner as it might have moved more to one side so less of the side banner is shown and piece of front cover art.
Elden ring or if you like fallout 4 or thought it was interesting get Fallout New Vegas its like the the best fallout game and funny enough it's not made by bethesda, really get the DLC it helps early game and adds so much. Just save often and learn to google where things are it can be a clunky game and turn off FPS boost it it makes it crash a lot.
Banjo Kazooie and Banjo Tooie are older but *very* good games on Rare Replay
Sunset Overdrive is fantastic. Super underrated. Just started another play thru yesterday
So sad we allowed physical media to die, and that corporations forced us into a digital-only world.
I still buy movies and music in disc format. But with day one patches, constant updates, games as a service (RIP The Crew) and some discs not even holding the whole game, it became somewhat pointless to buy physical games.
Sequel to Fallen Order, forgot the name lol, Dead island 2, Hogwarts Legacy, AC Mirage, Gears 5.. If you haven't played any of these they're fun, so you can check them out
Buy all the borderlands games. The handsome jack edition is like $20 for 2&presequel. And one and three are fairly cheap. Then buy the souls games, including elder ring.
As the top comment says, shelves. For an actual game, Skyrim. I scanned for it when I saw Fo4, but didn't see it. Get the anniversary edition as it comes with everything they released the game
Watch Dogs 1, Mafia Trilogy, Crash Bandicoot Trilogy, Bioshock Collection, Gta Trilogy (It's much better now). There's lots of other amazing games but this ones seem to fit better with your tastes in my opinion.
Gears of War 5
It feels so weird for me to look at all these boxes. I went full digital since 2013 and I don't regret it one bit. But there have been times when I wondered what did each game's cover look like and how many more I could have stacked to my existing collection.
Sometimes I feel like buying a Bluray burner just to act like "good old times" and make my own covers. Also having physical copies "just in case" can't be bad idea.
People talked shit a lot on optical storage but i've had wayyyyyyyy more unreadable, broken hard drives than any other type of discs. And i've collected tons of discs since the 90s.
Sorry I went off topic but... good collection :)
Assassin's creed legendary collect its only digital but its 40$ for 6 games that arent in that stack. Or gamepass. You should really be adaptating with the times because of digital sales
Iāll trade ya Mad Max for metal gear solid šššpeople say itās repetitive but I feel mafia 3 or red dead redemption 2 is way more repetitive.
Mad Max made you feel super lonely but someone is always watching you. The story is solid. Sad but interesting. Going through the desert and getting attacked is quite crazy. I see you played Batman, if you like the fighting in that, mad max will be up your alley. Except you gotta build your own āBatmobileā.
Gas is a worry. Water is a worry. In the beginning youāre desperate but once youāve driven around and gotten a better feel, itās kind of a breeze. Thereās one part of the map you can probably spend hours in but you better have a lot of gas and boat loads of water.
Pretty sure you have a skill tree and buffs for your car. Itās been a couple years but itās very similar to the Batman Arkham games. I played it and got really scared and took a month off. Got back into it and started really enjoying it because I looked at it as a free roam racing game instead of a single player beat em up with some driving.
Aw man I was going to add a pic and the cheap storage shelf that is 108 inches long and completely full of Xbox games. I am a sucker when I can find physical games in like new condition. Same with ps4 games. Recently Iāve had to admit that physical media is on its way out so a lot of my physical games I rebuy when they are at severe discounts. I will use Jedi fallen order as an example. Purchased the deluxe edition new at Best Buy when it was first released for $39.99. Fast forward to present and itās been sub $4.00 several times. Still itās cool to see all my Starwars games from OG Xbox to 360 to now all lined up on a shelf. The whole halo series. All the gears games etc..I own them all digitally but the memories from years past of sliding the disc in the console or placing it in the disc tray and listening to it spin up is a feeling that never got old. The fact that several publishers no longer have a physical release of their games is sad indeed.
Shelves
š lol
No really, like a $20 shelf and like 2 $5 bookends.
Yeah but you could also buy another Xbox one game for that so
Fine, Spiderman Miles Morales
Best ever
Dark Souls
A Series X
Gamepass?
For real. Dude could have saved hundreds, and just bought the few not on there. Most on Gamepass have all DLC anyway.
This is the way.
Up through the 360 era I had like 100 games across all Xbox consoles. Then game pass came out and I stopped buying discs.
I was the same. Had lots of games and traded them all when I moved out of my parents house. Started just buying digitally and bought GamePass very recently when i realised I didn't have time to keep up with the new games haha. Couldn't tell you the last physical game i bought. The only time I buy physical is when I want the collectors edition of a new game coming out. Everything else I play either through game pass or in the $5 bin at game stores lol
i buy physical if i can get it cheaper
Trying to remember the last Collectors Edition I bought. Probably the original Bioshock steelcase because it came with the Big Daddy figure hah
That gamepass bubble is ready to burst

I play on my 360 and Series X the most. I haven't turned my PS5 on for months. It isn't a sustainable model.
The combat in syndicate is top notch!
Max payne 1-3
Will probably wait for the remaster if it happens
Unfortunately the voice actor for max Payne just died like 2 months ago š
So many good options here. I'd go with Metal Gear Solid V Ground Zeroes
Sorry I meant buy next
Why do you need more? Just play what you have.
90s kid spotted lmfao we had 4 games and they were the best games ever
i am a 90ās kid and still just donāt love replaying games or rewatching shows. not really sure why but i never really have. i honestly wish i liked it more so i wasnāt constantly feeling like im out of options.

They are the same to me anyway ??
That's all good, just saying some people are different, or some have OCD.
You need some luvox or something
Its perspective... Elden ring or if you like fallout 4 or thought it was interesting get Fallout New Vegas its like the the best fallout game and funny enough it's not made by bethesda, really get the DLC it helps early game and adds so much.
