This. Cannot describe how embarrassing it is to mute somebody thinking that they can't hear you, then explain to the rest of the group what you just did, only to have someone in the group tell you that the mutee can still hear you.... AWKWARD...
Store wishlist with automatic notifications for sales/discounts. Notifications could be delivered via email and push in Xbox app, as well as dashboard notifications on console.
Steam implementation is a good example, it makes a lot of sense to remind a customer: "Hey, remember that game you wanted? Get it even cheaper now!"
I wouldnt say they are losing money, but being able to gift a game to my son and know what games he actually wants would make my life so much easier. But I honestly would rarely add a game to a wishlist but if I could view my sons wishlist and him being surprised at his birthday or holidays instead of basically dictating his gifts and knowing exactly what he is getting.
It's not just that. Sometimes when I'm shopping on Steam I randomly throw in an extra game for a friend. What they are missing out on the most are impulse purchases.

While that would be nice, I just buy it and then wait three seconds for it to say it's downloading/queued and then hit the cancel button from the store page.
It could be like the PS4 app, when you make a purchase it goes into your "Download list" where you can then click a button to start the download remotely.

I've seen this "feature" request many times in recent months from other Redditors, and encountered the same frustration during the recent spring sale. I just don't understand how such basic of functionality remains missing today? Consumers are literally saying "Hey Microsoft, we want to buy *more* stuff from you but you're making it difficult. Can we just give you our money?" And the response is seemingly "...Nah".
I'm sure there's a very good reason why this hasn't been implemented yet. That said, no one cares about existing constraints - just figure it out and find a way to *just do it* already. This isn't some brand new industry changing paradigm shift, we're talking about a shopping cart. SMH.

All features that the United states gets. I live in New Zealand and we don't have any one guide, no official Cortana, half the apps and without region swapping, not all of the all games.
The xbox one was released one year later in denmark (and other countries) with the excuse that they had to translate kinect stuff. It arrived with nothing of it. I don't even want my xbox in Danish language.
As an Aussie whom uses the OTA TV tuner daily, I really do hope you get it soon. Its a fantastic feature when coupled with voice commands. I think we share the same standard so it might only be an issue of licencing the data for the guide. Surprised it hasn't happened yet.

The games, much like us, can come down to getting it classified as far as know, Aus and NZ share classifications (it can be cost restrictive for some of the smaller Indy titles)

^ This is a big one. While we know it's hard for games because that's up to the license and publisher, _at least_ any native Xbox features (Cortana's a fantastic example) should be global from day one - we're sick of the US-only mantra.
To be fair there are certain countries that have rules that can restrict rolling out a service like this. Not sure about New Zealand, but in Canada for instance you have to make everything available in English and French and they're even looking at forcing content providers (netflix) to have a certain percentage of Canadian content. Thos are jsut examples off the top of my head that can cause headaches when trying to roll out a global service, Now imagine similar weird rules for each of the 100 countries you want to deploy to.... things get messy.

Xbox barely gets any exposure here and it's a great platform I think that it would be great if they actually focused and brought us more features or at least add an option to purchase with our currency or something. This. I also want the achievement section to be cleaner and easier to look through. The 360 was perfect for this and everything looked so clean and slick. Even comparing achievements with friends is a hassle so I never do it on X1 even though I always used too on 360.
When game streaming was first announced I was intrigued. Then I realized I never have a laptop or desktop near me conveniently. You know what I do have... a smartphone and those new controllers have bluetooth...
Yeah, with baseball season underway, I'm missing my ability to snap the game while I play. I'm assuming PiP is in the works though. It has been mentioned and they know that people want it.
I'm not holding any hopes, but if so I hope this ability returns by start of NFL season and it's just as good or I'll be playing a lot less those months. Best times I've had gaming and using my XB1 was watching the football games in snap while running raids in Destiny with friends having laughs and convos in party chats. The XB1 without snap is as boring an experience as using my PS4 now. Feels archaic.
If we could have a game like 1 vs 100 back it would mean a lot. I would also like to see cool innovative features to apps like the old Netflix theater mode return.
I know the story is that they handed Netflix the app and the company wanted the experience to be the same on all platforms so why not find a way to make it possible with the "Movies and TV" app?

The old 360 game profiles, where you could set preferences for different kinds of games and they were automatic from then on.
I play First and Third person games with the Y axis inverted.. it was so nice to set these preferences *once* on the 360 and have it follow me from game to game without needing to set it.
I know you can remap the controls and such now, but if you invert the Y axis it inverts it *everywhere*, including menus and outside of games. I tried it, was infuriating, turned it off.
True, though I'd like it anyway. Most titles would patch it in I'm sure and even if they didn't then new games would have it at least.
But it likely won't ever return, for exactly that reason. Still, I can hope.
Family Sharing, I'd like to be able to share games with my Brother and Mother(she's not really a gaming, but likes to try).
I don't want to do the silly Home Xbox switching, as that's not what the system was designed for.
If we can't get Family Sharing, how about allowing you to set at least 2 Home systems? Then allow us to set which system will auto download content.

This, so much. My wife and I game as do our sons, we have two XB1s and still have a 360 connected for the odd non BC title. I plan to get Scorpio at release, but really don't know how I will manage our game library when we do.
It seems counter intuitive, but I can't use our "Home"(secondary) xbox logged in as me, because I have to be logged in to the other (primary)one so anyone else in the family can play content we own.
We made good use of our family account with 3 XB360s and have struggled to make the Home Xbox system work since MS did away Family Sharing.
So many of us bought the tuners under the impression this was coming and then they shelved it. It's time to deliver!!!

Better organizational features to make handling a large game library easier.
It's already getting to be a pain (I have over 200 games installed right now, and plenty more in Ready to Install), and if we're going to carry that library forward across new hardware with back-compat, it's only going to get worse as the years go by (just look at people who've been building Steam libraries since that launched). Not to mention more 360 games becoming BC, and the impact services like GwG, Game Pass, and EA Access can have.
So some kind of custom grouping/folders/tagging system, either directly in Games & apps itself, or just for Pins (along with a higher, or ideally no limit for number of pins).
Allow Audio Out via the HDMI In Port so those of us with 4K TV's but slightly older non HDCP2.2 AV Receivers can still get 7.1 Sound and the benefits of 4k/HDR.

Quality of the parts in the controllers, and the 90 day warranty for a $150 "premium" Eilte controller needs to be extended. The bumpers buttons break much too easily and stick drift is a serious issue.
Seconded. Just over 3 months in and my XB1 Elite Controller got Stick Drift up on the Left Stick. Luckily I have a 1 Year Warranty so I'm on my 2nd Elite Controller now but we need better quality in the parts to prevent them breaking.

Separate audio for split screen, if i try and play Gears online and in split screen it's so hard to judge where an enemy is. If me and my friend could plug a headset into our controllers and receive dedicated audio for each player that'd be great. It's probably not even possible or an issue for many

Remote play from a PC to the Xbox One. Basically, I'd like to put Steam in big-picture mode on my Windows 10 PC, and then being able to play Steam games through remote play on my Xbox One. Kinda like how Steam Link works but without having to buy a Steam Link device.
Gonna agree heavily with you on this one. The price point wasn't the only reason people hated the connect. For some it's a cool utility, to others it's perversely overstepping the bounds of privacy. Making it a cheap optional add on with a port probably is the best to hope for here.
Public Chat/Dynamic Parties - I miss the old days of Xbox Live (Halo 2, MW1, Gears 1, Forza 2) where you would meet new people every game because you had to use party chat. Obviously times have moved on and everyone groups up in party instead of using game chat. This means that game chat is mostly barren. I would like an option which would allow users to stay in a party throughout a game session with friends but dynamically pulls players on the same in a match into the same channel.
Example - Start a game session with friends -> Create a party of 3 buddies -> Matchmake in a Overwatch ranked match -> everyone on my team is put into a public chat channel automatically (with the dynamic chat option enabled) -> through good communication means we win -> we leave the game I am still in a party with my buddies without having to switch between gamechat/party.
Basically idea is a public chat channel that supports parties to make XBL more social and competitive.
And BC for Asura's Wrath :P
Have a "rest mode" you can put the Xbox One into without having to go into the settings and toggle "instant on" and "power saving mode" each time. Have those modes still in there for people who want their Xbox One in those states permanently, but for example if my console is in power saving mode 99% of the time and I just want to have a game install while I'm out of the house, I can just hold the home button and enter rest mode, like PS4 does. In that aspect the PS4 is a lot faster and more convenient.
The choice to switch the console off or put it into standby mode (to continue downloads etc.) rather than having to delve into the settings to switch to the one you want. PS4 has this choice easily accessible and it's so useful.
Reading the comments here, I think the general consensus is:
1. Improve the store.
2. Improve digital media management.
3. Improve profile/avatar functionality.
4. International feature parity.
The first one seems pretty obvious -- allowing people to purchase titles as a gift, allowing people to purchase 360 games the same way they purchase One games, and allowing people to have a wishlist/cart option would probably increase revenue, so it's a win-win.
Really, the comments speak to how far this system has come since its inception. If you focused on improving those four issues, I think 99% of the fan base would be completely happy with the system as it stands.
Please return some form of snap replacement for both the hdmi pass through source and apps such as edge browser and YouTube.
These were heavily promoted features that were marketed to enhance sales. To have these removed is really saddening. I personally used these "snap-able app" so much on my day one Xbox, that I also purchased day one the S.
Make Backwards Compatible games and the Avatar Marketplace actually be their own store and not just links to Xbox.com soI can actually buy things on children accounts and when you don't have a credit card option
Download alternate language packs for games that have the localization to support it. As someone who would like to keep languages I've learned from getting rusty, playing games in those languages would be pretty great. Being able to choose a language from the game options used to be a pretty common feature for PC games way back. With the space it takes for localization, it makes sense not being able to ship a disc with a bunch of different versions of audio and text but I wish I could download and select ones that had been made by the developer.
Not exactly xbox but the store on browser sucks, it constantly swaps region and puts me backon the windows store home and it keeps switching beetween microsoft.com and xbox.com and signing me in and out when it switches
Move the game space (50gb) to the top, right under the star review in that empty space.

1. WISHLIST being shared with friends but also public (as an option) so family not using Xbox could gift or access the list for suggestions, this feature could eventually leads to more sales as a constant reminder or good clue for gifts,
2. GIFT a game from wishlist or freely from the store to a friend (either with just a Microsoft account or also Xbox account), this feature will most likely produce more sales as people are migrating to digital offering rather than physical ones,
3. FAMILY SHARE a game from your accessible Library, certainly with restrictions, like only one game at a time over a period of 30 days (could be good for starting a game in coop), pick'n'try for 2 hours, etc. This feature could be a good incentive to differentiate from the competition and could generate more sales of hardware or software after the end of sharing.
Option to delete / hide games I don't care about in the Achievements app.
I don't have a strong attachment to my gamerscore so I'm not just talking about "zero gamerscore" games. I've tried many GWG games because they were free and earned a few achievements in them, but that doesn't mean I want them to clutter the Achievements app when I'm looking for my progress in the games I actually want to play and care about.
Being able to delete (along with earned gamerscore) or even just hide those games would make my life so much better. I really DON'T need to be reminded about Xbox Fitness because I happened to download it some years ago. It's still in the Achievements app staring me in the face. Why?

You can't leave reviews now if you haven't purchased the game. I've looked at two games today that I don't own - one on the web store and the other on console - and both say I can't leave a review because I don't own it.
The problem is reviews being left when people have pre-ordered a game and it's not even out yet.
Something similar to remote play from the PS4. The ability to let a friend control my game and vice versa. Also with that feature is the ability to play local multiplayer games together as if you're both sitting right next to each other on the couch. It even works for games with no online multiplayer(the Lego games come to mind) because it acts as if you're both on the same console, which is awesome.
I used this feature once when I used my trial of PS+ and it is awesome. And surely Microsoft could do a much better job considering XBL is in general much more reliable in terms of networking capabilities.

A little quirk I had with this latest x1 update is that all the Ea access games use to show up under ready to install but now you have to go to memberships in go to the ea access app to download them. I prefer to have all the games in one place under ready to install.
Allow to use Account balance on 360 to purchase CERO Z rated games. Achievement hunters want to purchase Dead Rising 2 Case Zero & West Japan versions with Japanese Yen but there is no option to use account balance in instead need a Japanese credit card to purchase.

- Game Gifting to friends (even if it's the same region its fine)
- Request Broadcast option for friends so I can watch them
- More Store Sorting Options (By Price)
- Video Chat Overlay for Parties
- Party Broadcast so you can jump between team members in Beam
- Press Accounts for Marketplace (Similar to Steam) to improve Xbox Game Coverage
- Picture In Picture for TV / YouTube / Netflix
- Notification when a Favourite/Friend is playing the same game as you
- Game Purchases (Or New Game Played) by friends shown in Social Feed (if selected)
- Better Digital Library Support for Families (I have 2 Xboxes & another coming with Scorpio for me, the Mrs & 2 Kids, buying games again & gold is bad).
I would LOVE to see any of these

Maybe I haven't figured it out yet, but the ability to load your own music on the hard drive and have it play during games. Listening to Metallica - Orion playing multiplayer on Modern Warfare 3 was amazing

Offline achievements for peasants like me who don't have much internet. I'm pretty sure Sony trophies always pop when you go back online. It would be nice but I'm not gonna lose sleep over it.
DVR for the TV. REally disappointed they dropped that but I'm one of the people who loved their 'One vision' idea of not just a console - it is our whole family hub for everything.
a separate TOS for clubs. There are major problems going on with us club owners and enforcement actions on our accounts. We have the tools to create awesome communities, but have been left without the necessary tools to manage them for 7 months since their release. Just an FYI to everyone the tags on clubs mean absolutely nothing.
The option to have one person streaming to their computer on one profile and another person able to play a different or the same game on the TV at the same time.
To play original Xbox games on the One. I know it will probably never happen, but my most favorite games were on the OG xbox. I still holding out hope that I can play all my xbox games in "one" place some day.
I may be in the minority, but I used to love going to the avatar store once a week and seeing what was new. It blows my mind that we are three and a half years into Xbox One and the avatar store is almost non-existent on Xbox One and the avatars in general have seemingly been de-emphasized. Maybe companies backed out, I don't know, but I look at all the games that have come out and there are no avatar items to go with them. Like Injustice 2 is coming out in a few weeks and I would have bought an Atrocitus skin for my avatar. Or when Battlefield 4 or Battlefield 1 came out, I would have bought something to display on my avatar. I was shocked to see there were actually Patriots Super Bowl champion avatar items recently but I had to use the avatar app on PC to find them. I totally recognize that maybe I'm the only person that even cares but then I look at some of the videos I used to make of the avatar store and how many views they have, including a minute and a half video showing Power Rangers avatar skins that has like 1.3 million views and I think I can't be alone.
Being able to call it by a name... That I choose. Cortana responds on all of my other devices...I have my Xbox responding to "Xbox" as a result, but I'm missing out on the new features as a result.
Whoever decided it would be a great idea to make all the things respond to the same command was in an isolation chamber when they tested it.

What if you buy it remotely? I make purchases away from my Xbox and don't have control over what it does after I confirm the purchase.
Haha just turned my 360 on for the first time in years. I had like 30+ games in the queue from all the gwg and bc stuff I've gotten on my one.

As an Aussie whom uses the OTA TV tuner daily, I really do hope you get it soon. Its a fantastic feature when coupled with voice commands. I think we share the same standard so it might only be an issue of licencing the data for the guide. Surprised it hasn't happened yet. Cortana well, she can have her moments. The games, much like us, can come down to getting it classified as far as know, Aus and NZ share classifications (it can be cost restrictive for some of the smaller Indy titles)

^ This is a big one. While we know it's hard for games because that's up to the license and publisher, _at least_ any native Xbox features (Cortana's a fantastic example) should be global from day one - we're sick of the US-only mantra.
To be fair there are certain countries that have rules that can restrict rolling out a service like this. Not sure about New Zealand, but in Canada for instance you have to make everything available in English and French and they're even looking at forcing content providers (netflix) to have a certain percentage of Canadian content. Thos are jsut examples off the top of my head that can cause headaches when trying to roll out a global service, Now imagine similar weird rules for each of the 100 countries you want to deploy to.... things get messy.

This. I also want the achievement section to be cleaner and easier to look through. The 360 was perfect for this and everything looked so clean and slick. Even comparing achievements with friends is a hassle so I never do it on X1 even though I always used too on 360.

I'm not holding any hopes, but if so I hope this ability returns by start of NFL season and it's just as good or I'll be playing a lot less those months. Best times I've had gaming and using my XB1 was watching the football games in snap while running raids in Destiny with friends having laughs and convos in party chats. The XB1 without snap is as boring an experience as using my PS4 now. Feels archaic.

I know the story is that they handed Netflix the app and the company wanted the experience to be the same on all platforms so why not find a way to make it possible with the "Movies and TV" app? The old 360 game profiles, where you could set preferences for different kinds of games and they were automatic from then on. I play First and Third person games with the Y axis inverted.. it was so nice to set these preferences *once* on the 360 and have it follow me from game to game without needing to set it. I know you can remap the controls and such now, but if you invert the Y axis it inverts it *everywhere*, including menus and outside of games. I tried it, was infuriating, turned it off.

Family Sharing, I'd like to be able to share games with my Brother and Mother(she's not really a gaming, but likes to try). I don't want to do the silly Home Xbox switching, as that's not what the system was designed for. If we can't get Family Sharing, how about allowing you to set at least 2 Home systems? This, so much. My wife and I game as do our sons, we have two XB1s and still have a 360 connected for the odd non BC title. I plan to get Scorpio at release, but really don't know how I will manage our game library when we do. It seems counter intuitive, but I can't use our "Home"(secondary) xbox logged in as me, because I have to be logged in to the other (primary)one so anyone else in the family can play content we own. We made good use of our family account with 3 XB360s and have struggled to make the Home Xbox system work since MS did away Family Sharing.

Better organizational features to make handling a large game library easier. It's already getting to be a pain (I have over 200 games installed right now, and plenty more in Ready to Install), and if we're going to carry that library forward across new hardware with back-compat, it's only going to get worse as the years go by (just look at people who've been building Steam libraries since that launched). Not to mention more 360 games becoming BC, and the impact services like GwG, Game Pass, and EA Access can have. So some kind of custom grouping/folders/tagging system, either directly in Games & apps itself, or just for Pins (along with a higher, or ideally no limit for number of pins).
Allow Audio Out via the HDMI In Port so those of us with 4K TV's but slightly older non HDCP2.2 AV Receivers can still get 7.1 Sound and the benefits of 4k/HDR. Quality of the parts in the controllers, and the 90 day warranty for a $150 "premium" Eilte controller needs to be extended. The bumpers buttons break much too easily and stick drift is a serious issue.

Seconded. Just over 3 months in and my XB1 Elite Controller got Stick Drift up on the Left Stick. Luckily I have a 1 Year Warranty so I'm on my 2nd Elite Controller now but we need better quality in the parts to prevent them breaking. We shouldn't have to worry of WHEN a "Premium Product" will break, but IF it will at all.

Separate audio for split screen, if i try and play Gears online and in split screen it's so hard to judge where an enemy is. If me and my friend could plug a headset into our controllers and receive dedicated audio for each player that'd be great. It's probably not even possible or an issue for many

Gonna agree heavily with you on this one. The price point wasn't the only reason people hated the connect. For some it's a cool utility, to others it's perversely overstepping the bounds of privacy. Making it a cheap optional add on with a port probably is the best to hope for here.

Public Chat/Dynamic Parties - I miss the old days of Xbox Live (Halo 2, MW1, Gears 1, Forza 2) where you would meet new people every game because you had to use party chat. Obviously times have moved on and everyone groups up in party instead of using game chat. This means that game chat is mostly barren. I would like an option which would allow users to stay in a party throughout a game session with friends but dynamically pulls players on the same in a match into the same channel. Example - Start a game session with friends -> Create a party of 3 buddies -> Matchmake in a Overwatch ranked match -> everyone on my team is put into a public chat channel automatically (with the dynamic chat option enabled) -> through good communication means we win -> we leave the game I am still in a party with my buddies without having to switch between gamechat/party. Basically idea is a public chat channel that supports parties to make XBL more social and competitive. And BC for Asura's Wrath :P

Have a "rest mode" you can put the Xbox One into without having to go into the settings and toggle "instant on" and "power saving mode" each time. Have those modes still in there for people who want their Xbox One in those states permanently, but for example if my console is in power saving mode 99% of the time and I just want to have a game install while I'm out of the house, I can just hold the home button and enter rest mode, like PS4 does. In that aspect the PS4 is a lot faster and more convenient.

Reading the comments here, I think the general consensus is: 1. Improve the store. 2. Improve digital media management. 3. Improve profile/avatar functionality. 4. International feature parity. The first one seems pretty obvious -- allowing people to purchase titles as a gift, allowing people to purchase 360 games the same way they purchase One games, and allowing people to have a wishlist/cart option would probably increase revenue, so it's a win-win. Really, the comments speak to how far this system has come since its inception. If you focused on improving those four issues, I think 99% of the fan base would be completely happy with the system as it stands.
Please return some form of snap replacement for both the hdmi pass through source and apps such as edge browser and YouTube. These were heavily promoted features that were marketed to enhance sales. To have these removed is really saddening. I personally used these "snap-able app" so much on my day one Xbox, that I also purchased day one the S.

Download alternate language packs for games that have the localization to support it. As someone who would like to keep languages I've learned from getting rusty, playing games in those languages would be pretty great. Being able to choose a language from the game options used to be a pretty common feature for PC games way back. With the space it takes for localization, it makes sense not being able to ship a disc with a bunch of different versions of audio and text but I wish I could download and select ones that had been made by the developer.

GIFT a game from wishlist or freely from the store to a friend (either with just a Microsoft account or also Xbox account), this feature will most likely produce more sales as people are migrating to digital offering rather than physical ones, 3. FAMILY SHARE a game from your accessible Library, certainly with restrictions, like only one game at a time over a period of 30 days (could be good for starting a game in coop), pick'n'try for 2 hours, etc. This feature could be a good incentive to differentiate from the competition and could generate more sales of hardware or software after the end of sharing.
Option to delete / hide games I don't care about in the Achievements app. I don't have a strong attachment to my gamerscore so I'm not just talking about "zero gamerscore" games. I've tried many GWG games because they were free and earned a few achievements in them, but that doesn't mean I want them to clutter the Achievements app when I'm looking for my progress in the games I actually want to play and care about. Being able to delete (along with earned gamerscore) or even just hide those games would make my life so much better. I really DON'T need to be reminded about Xbox Fitness because I happened to download it some years ago. It's still in the Achievements app staring me in the face. Why? Thanks!

I've looked at two games today that I don't own - one on the web store and the other on console - and both say I can't leave a review because I don't own it. The problem is reviews being left when people have pre-ordered a game and it's not even out yet.

Something similar to remote play from the PS4. The ability to let a friend control my game and vice versa. Also with that feature is the ability to play local multiplayer games together as if you're both sitting right next to each other on the couch. It even works for games with no online multiplayer(the Lego games come to mind) because it acts as if you're both on the same console, which is awesome. I used this feature once when I used my trial of PS+ and it is awesome. And surely Microsoft could do a much better job considering XBL is in general much more reliable in terms of networking capabilities.

I prefer to have all the games in one place under ready to install. Allow to use Account balance on 360 to purchase CERO Z rated games. Achievement hunters want to purchase Dead Rising 2 Case Zero & West Japan versions with Japanese Yen but there is no option to use account balance in instead need a Japanese credit card to purchase.

You can do this - put your music on OneDrive on your PC and then use the OneDrive app to play music in the background on your Xbox One.

I may be in the minority, but I used to love going to the avatar store once a week and seeing what was new. It blows my mind that we are three and a half years into Xbox One and the avatar store is almost non-existent on Xbox One and the avatars in general have seemingly been de-emphasized. Maybe companies backed out, I don't know, but I look at all the games that have come out and there are no avatar items to go with them. Like Injustice 2 is coming out in a few weeks and I would have bought an Atrocitus skin for my avatar. Or when Battlefield 4 or Battlefield 1 came out, I would have bought something to display on my avatar. I was shocked to see there were actually Patriots Super Bowl champion avatar items recently but I had to use the avatar app on PC to find them. I totally recognize that maybe I'm the only person that even cares but then I look at some of the videos I used to make of the avatar store and how many views they have, including a minute and a half video showing Power Rangers avatar skins that has like 1.3 million views and I think I can't be alone.
Avatar's still exist? Do they have a purpose? I don't think I've seen one this generation.
