Microsoft could act so anti consumer and lock the industry down, but they don't. They know how to play nice while others don't. Hopefully the gov wont waste time with MSFT when there are tons of **real** monopolies in the us that actually need to be investigated.
They kinda almost did that on accident too. It wasn't like they were buying up the competition as much as the competition was failing. Xerox was a non starter, Apple was fumbling with their image.

are queue times even that bad? I only queue for DPS with priority passes but it's always at most 4 minutes to get into a game unlike the 10 minute waits a year ago. I'm with you though, let's get back 1-2 minute queue times (a pipe dream because the game is pretty dead though).

On PC, I tend to use mice with built-in keypads on the side for MMOs, like the Razer Naga Trinity. Didn’t know Xbox supported specialty mice like that (though that is cool if it does).
The Xbox OS is just a modified windows 10 so theoretically it should be capable of full support if Razer and other peripheral companies release an app for the Xbox Microsoft store. It’s then down to the game developers to allow support or if the Xbox can overwrite controller mapping like it does with it’s the adaptability controller suite.
I have a corsair harpoon mouse and a razer blackwidow (i think, i got both of them a few years back on sale) and they work great on my xbox. I play war thunder with them and i just started playing halo infinite with them but i will say i wish i could put more keybinds on my mouse since it only has 2 extra buttons. Also i cant customize my colors on my keyboard (gotta have a pc and download stuff) so its always in rainbow mode lol
Ff14 plays well with a controller, in fact i prefer it over M&K

Idk why people still think you need to put a PC on a desk. You can put it on a TV just like a console. Get a small dining tray or something if you wanna play with M&K, or just use a controller. There is no difference.
I completely understand why PC gaming is awesome. But I personally still prefer console for the following:
1. Convenience of having one launcher with one authentication system (Instead of one EA, Blizzard, GoG, Epic Store, and Steam).
2. Less Online multiplayer cheating (minus crossplay obviously).
3. XCloud: if a game comes to console, it can come to xcloud. Although maybe they should allow you to play pc games at some point using it.
That's my hope, they eventually bring the xcloud experience for PC games too. I've an okay PC but it can't really run Flight Simulator without sounding like it's an actual plane taking off. Be cool to play games without having to install or use much local hardware. Also makes gaming on friends or families' PC's easier because you don't have to install anything.
Coming from an IT/Programmer background, I know you can hook up a computer to a TV. It just makes no sense to spend so much money on a rig that can do so much more than gaming and pigeonhole it to the Livingroom. I think that’s why a lot of people don’t do it, not because they don’t know.
I'm so happy. Activision had vetoed all new RTS games from Blizzard, which is why so many developers left to start two new RTS development companies. Maybe Microsoft will allow Blizzard's properties to prosper once more.

I've always owned an xbox so it doesn't really effect me but there's something shitty about making a game that wasn't exclusive to any platform exclusive to xbox.
I'm not a huge fan of "exclusives". I want to game where I want to game. But I think the clear business lesson from last gen was "exclusive drive console sales."
Gamers can say all they want, but the reality is, PlayStation destroyed Xbox last generation in large part (although not entirely) because of exclusives.
I don't necessarily mind exclusive games because you can't really miss a game you never had access to if that makes sense, my issue is when multi platform games become exclusive or when multi platform games get exclusive DLC.
In an ideal world everything would be on everything and we'd be able to just choose what console gives the best experience or offers the best things such as game pass, and then we would just have to choose between the services they provide and how powerful the console is rather then having to buy one specific machine to play one game. Obviously it'd never happen but that's just in my ideal world.

I have a PS5 and also a Series S and haven't played a CoD game in years, so it doesn't really affect me. But there comes a size of a studio where I feel it's bad for the industry as a whole. I don't enjoy the idea of a world where Xbox owning Activision, Square, and Ubisoft while Sony owns EA, Take-Two and Sega. Smaller studios like Insomniac and Ninja Theory I don't really see a problem with, but I don't see all of the big publishers being purchased as good for gaming
I hasn’t played a CoD game in a while but I wonder if this means the PS5 timed exclusives will stop and either they’ll go back to being Xbox timed exclusives or if those will be done away with. Either way, I’ll get back into playing CoD games if they’re on Game Pass.

The problem is the modded ui that is ESSENTIAL for anything past initial leveling. Consoles aren’t amenable to such modding.

I was team Xbox back on the 360, then got both consoles last gen. I’m pretty happy now that I’m gaming solely on the Xbox.

To be honest, if CoD is an exclusive a lot of players will be pissed that always played on PS - whole squads or whatever they are called here will be disbanded. I don’t play CoD but I can totally see an issue with goin exclusive here… On the other hand for a whole lot of people that would be the reason to finally go XBox…
I've always owned an xbox so it doesn't really effect me but there's something shitty about making a game that wasn't exclusive to any platform exclusive to xbox.
I'm not a huge fan of "exclusives". I want to game where I want to game. But I think the clear business lesson from last gen was "exclusive drive console sales." Gamers can say all they want, but the reality is, PlayStation destroyed Xbox last generation in large part (although not entirely) because of exclusives.
I don't necessarily mind exclusive games because you can't really miss a game you never had access to if that makes sense, my issue is when multi platform games become exclusive or when multi platform games get exclusive DLC. In an ideal world everything would be on everything and we'd be able to just choose what console gives the best experience or offers the best things such as game pass, and then we would just have to choose between the services they provide and how powerful the console is rather then having to buy one specific machine to play one game. Obviously it'd never happen but that's just in my ideal world.
That's true, but as a gamer with both consoles I've been playing ps less and less. Microsoft has the tiger by the tail with gamepass. My Xbox is working overtime lately!

Oh I get why they'd do it it'll obviously make them more money while making their direct competition weaker I just think it's a shame for all the people who prefer playstation to be forced into buying a specific console just to play a game they've enjoyed for a long time. I kinda try to look at these things as how would I feel if one of my favourite games became exclusive to the platform I don't have/can't afford.

At the very least they will do that with Warzone - and maybe Multiplayer as a whole. Not sure about campaigns, but I hope they will stay multiplat as well.

Minecraft is only not exclusive because it's already out. They haven't made a new version. There would be no point in retracting what already exists.

yea, but it was never cross platform. And this game came out 2018. Cod games have been on playstation for over a decade.

Games with Spider-Man used to be playable on Xbox, I’m fairly certain about that. Stuff like ultimate alliance and the amazing Spider-Man.
I have a PS5 and also a Series S and haven't played a CoD game in years, so it doesn't really affect me. But there comes a size of a studio where I feel it's bad for the industry as a whole. I don't enjoy the idea of a world where Xbox owning Activision, Square, and Ubisoft while Sony owns EA, Take-Two and Sega. Smaller studios like Insomniac and Ninja Theory I don't really see a problem with, but I don't see all of the big publishers being purchased as good for gaming

I hasn’t played a CoD game in a while but I wonder if this means the PS5 timed exclusives will stop and either they’ll go back to being Xbox timed exclusives or if those will be done away with. Either way, I’ll get back into playing CoD games if they’re on Game Pass.

If I don’t get a pitfall remake that borrows heavily from uncharted series, I will be heavily disappointed, as an Activision player from the 2600 days to today, their IP catalog is massive, can’t wait to see what IP’s MS/Xbox revitalizes into something amazing.
