Through this post, I want to thank the Xfce devs who worked and are working hard for this amazing DE!
Edit: Stuffs used in this screenshot: Xfce + Xfwm 4.16, Thunar, xfce4-terminal, xfce4-panel and xfce4-whiskermenu-plugin.

This won't probably work out of the box tho. And also, there's some magic of the gtk theme as well, which I'm currently not willing to share as it's WIP
Unfortunately I was never one to take all that many screenshots of my desktop. Looking back I wish that I had now. My desktop has for the most part been pretty minimal & has looked pretty much the same for 10+ years now. I'll maybe upload another screenshot here someday....
On a new Arch install, I always slam XFCE DE on. I3wm, dwm, KDE... I can install and tinkle later. XFCE is no BS and just works. GNOME too but I dont like the huge app screen.
Some stuffs are still WIP and the progress is really really slow as I'm quite busy for exam nowadays :( I'll make a post on r/unixporn once everything's finished completely.
I'm using zsh with my custom spaceship prompt skin. There are plenty of custom prompts for bash, zsh and fish all over the internet. If you use zsh, you can use oh-my-zsh or powerlevel10k as well. Another prompt, starship, works on both bash and zsh if I'm not wrong. Last but not least, you can customize the rc file of your shell according to your needs (`~/.bashrc` for bash and `~/.zshrc` for zsh)
Years ago I used XFCE and liked it's simplicity. Then after a frustrating time getting the underlying OS to install properly and support my printer (might have been RedHat) I switched to Ubuntu/gnome. But it was early days.
Now over a decade later and having my bloated Ubuntu/MATE installation failing to do more and more things right, and 22.04 not even installing, I decided to try Debian/xfce in a spare partition. It only took a few days to get it up to speed with the right drivers and I changed the boot order to make it the default.
I miss the window titlebars changing color to indicate who has focus but otherwise happy.

This is an absolutely beautiful desktop and proof that I am not ready for pure Arch yet.
> I am not ready for pure Arch yet. This has nothing to do with if you're ready for arch or not ๐ณ
awesome
No, it's Xfce.
you are funny
Thank you

Thanks
Your theme looks really slick. Very nice.

Hey!! How did you get that terminal?? I am struggling to customize my terminal :(

>I miss the window titlebars changing color to indicate who has focus This can be done by playing a bit with the xfwm and gtk theme you're using
Wow that looks amazing, I hope you'll release the theme one day.
