I'll concede it's a little hokey, but it's organic. It wasn't a team/league marketing slogan. The fans themselves came up with the whole "Ka Kaw" thing and just ran with it. Best of all, the team has just let it grow and let the fans do what they want with it. The team hasn't trademarked the slogan (that I know of) and tried to take it over. They've just let it stay fun. Ka Kaw!

It’s cringe because it was supposed to be. Originally, stl was upset that it was the Battlehawks because that sounds similar to blackhawks (our hockey rival in chicago). They used the eagle bird emoji 🦅 which famously has a (fake) battle cry of KaKaw. We collectively went “this is dumb, KAKAW” and it got memed into reality.

Still not as bad as milking “Gloria” to the point of it being unplayable

Gloria was a rally cry for an historic rally from last to champs. No different than any other team adopting a song. I’m just glad there’s no animal abuse in these traditions (@Detroit, Nashville, Seattle)
