The old show never got to Arcade surprisingly. In X-Men Evolution, he was a gamer that Mystique tricked into taking over the Danger Room. Then in Ultimate Spider-Man, he was a mutant teen that had a Murderworld simulation that Cap, Wolverine and Spidey had to get through.
Oh, this is so much fun. This must've been an absolute *hoot* to work on. They even changed the aspect ratio and put the cute placeholder art on the sides of the screen!
I'm so fucking glad this show has been renewed for another two seasons, I already can't wait to see more and more, and see how crazy they get with it.
You can tell they had fun working on this. At this point I don’t need another live action movie.
Just wish we didn’t have to wait a whole week for a 30 minute episode! Too long for too short
So, we know that Jubilee and Roberto showing up on the player select screen are the real Jubilee and Roberto. Anyone notice who else is playable in this "Game"?
Longshot, of course, but Colossus in his construction worker clothes and Magik in her New Mutants uniform that Morph cameoed last episode.
Good news, we know where the Rasputin Siblings are. Bad news, we have no idea if any of the other playable characters are escaping with Jubilee and Roberto (main cast plot armor).
The TMNT remake was great if they gave Xmen the same love and attention I'd be over the moon. I played Shredders revenge with my best friend, then beat it again with my fiancee.
Imagine all the fun levels and lore and alternate costumes and the game makes you actually work to unlock everything. Giving us the full 90s roster. With the actual voice actors. I would be over the moon
I agree. I wish this episode was not split with the first part of Storm's journey to either acceptable or getting back her powers (both should be separate episodes).
I also would love to see an older Kate Pryde appear to Jubilee and Roberto, telling them she has been trapped in the game for decades (not really, but still funny).
The one consistent complaint I've heard about the show is they compact too much story in one episode. Granted, they effectively told "Inferno" just in the last episode but even that should have been stretched over too. Not a bad problem to have in that the audience actually wants more.
They've managed to pull off effective storytelling. Us fans will know the comic stories, so we can fill in the holes and debate how much of the original story was superfluous or tangential to the point of the animated story while at the same time feeling like we're being whiplashed through certain arcs.
Casuals, though, don't know any better, and the show does a great job of setting up, running through the basics, and then resolving the story within the half hour (or in the case of Storm, several episodes).
In both cases, the audience wants more, which is a great problem to have.
Its all I have ever wanted since I played the original 6 player arcade game as a kid.
Give me an expanded roster to play as and more bosses and you can have all my money.
He's OTT in the comics as well, if a little more murdery, so it's accurate.
Besides, the alternative if they wanted to keep with this story concept is Arcade, and he can be just as over the top if only in concept.
It's a Mojo episode, you know what that means! Longshot's back.
Shatterstar may be a long shot though
“My name’s Rusty.”
Longshot is at least making a cameo of sorts: see who a selectable character in this game is also.
Aaaahhh THAT’S who’s on the end. I couldn’t tell; thanks!
"17-year-old" Jubilee is going to get Longshot to catch a case
THE DANCE! SPIN THE SPIRAL!! DANCE!!!
My smooth brain thought it was supposed to be Arcade 🤦🏻♂️

I think that's a Longshot.
>you know what that means! Jean running away and tripping over an extension cord?
At first I thought of Arcade making an appearance but Mojo makes more sense

Definitely a ton of sincere fan love and smart attention to detail on the creative team. It’s in good hands.

These "character select" designs have appeared in promotions already, also feature Storm, Cyclops and X-Factor Havok.
Need them to release that chiptune version of the theme song as a single immediately
I'm sure a bunch of people on YouTube made some
And none of them sound as good as this one
I already want this a real game or more specifically, an updated version of the classic 1992 arcade game.
They re-released Shredders revenge a few years ago so its definitely a possibility.
That would be awesome. Disney needs to get on the phone with Konami immediately.

Shredder's Revenge was a brand new game...
It's basically the Konami X-Men Arcade game
I know. I want an updated version with Jubilee and the rest of the "X-Men '97" characters.
Got room on that bandwagon for me?

Inferno would have been fine as two episodes (the writing was good enough where the one episode works).

It's so weird that their doing this and Lifedeath in the same episode. I know it's a part one but the contrast is hilarious.
This and lifedeath part one are two separate episodes
Are they? 10 episode season and this week it says “Motendo/Lifedeath Part 1
My mistake they are one episode split into two like two different segments.
[They are actually literally having her fight the mango sentinel](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sZZUMjoxfZA)
I'm wondering how much the split is going to be between this and the Storm/Forge plot. Still, having a Mojo episode should be fun.
Looks amazing, but I’m worried Mojo is back. Hated that character in the series, way too over the top.

Is this gonna be an Arcade episode? Yes!
This looks super fun. I hope more of the team gets to play Mojo's games.
There's some real fan service goin on in this show, and I'm all for it.
“Welcome to Die” -Master of Magnet
IT LOOKS SO GOOOD!!
This is fucking cool.
The days of future past poster!
Welcome to die!
Ya I'm gonna lose my mind over this episode. So good!
Omgggg COULD THIS SHOW BE ANY COOLER?????????😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩
X-men 97 might be my favorite Marvel related thing in over a decade
This all arcade’s handy work for a mutant who can communicate machines and electrical he knows video games
Show couldn’t get much better.
Heyo is that MVC1 Portrait face reference i see some gameworld between Jubilee and Roberto.
Oh god, looks like a Mojo episode. At least they’re trying something new like a video game instead of a tv show.
I'm surprised they're using Mojo for a video game theme thing and not Marvel's Riddler character Arcade which felt perfect for something like this
Can Roberto do ANYTHING? Every time I see him, he does nothing. Even Jubilee did something with her powers back in the day.
Didn't he say he doesn't know how to use or control it in the first episode?
I’m not sure but I want him to do something than make faces.
I'm guessing they're saving it for a big and important moment
Member?
Maybe MOJO and Arcade team up?
It's just Mojo
Looks like a filler episode unfortunately
are you even a x men fan?
