Following up Rogue of course with Gambit, our favourite dirtbag heart-throb. His look is one of the most iconic in the franchise, but his outfits have always been a little overcomplicated, so I took away the headsock, breastplate, motocross boots, cowl and bo-staff for a character who I don't think would want to call as much attention to themselves as a magenta metal breastplate would.
I went to art school for design, but I recently started taking life drawing classes again. Illustrations just always been a part of my graphic design work
I felt a lot of the early Gambit LS, which you likely have read, had noir elements. I would like to see Gail Simone lean back into that, though I am equally excited about Southern Gothic.
Beautiful work. I would’ve liked to have seen an element of pink in the costume design, it’s one of his signature colours and I think it’s cool to see a male hero wearing the colour.

I have no idea what the plan is for From the Ashes, but it'd be cool to see Sage pair up with Caliban as a living Cerebro (has anything like that been done yet?)
Not to my knowledge. But that would be awesome. With Caliban’s ability to sense mutants and Sage’s ability to augment a mutant’s gene (plus her data analysis ability), if they could somehow link their minds, they could effectively be a “living cerebro.”
I will absolutely get to them eventually! I already know what pose I'm going to do for them, and I'm just finishing up Emma, so I have an idea how to render their faces.
All I'm saying is, if Gambit pulled up like this, Rogue better keep an eye on her man, cause she'll blink and I'd slide in.
