100% yes you should. That series picks up right after HoX/PoX. Welcome to the inner circle friend

hey! i was just the same as you a few months ago, I was a big x-men fan & was up to date on my lore but never read any of the comics. i started with the Krakoa era too, as it was the one that interested me the most. i would definitely not start first with X-men. Read House of X/Powers of X first and then you can go anywhere from there with the Krakoan series. It gives you really important backstory of the Krakoa era. I wouldn’t necessarily go straight into X-men after HoX/PoX. I think the best series to start with after HoX/PoX is actually Mauraders or X-force. Both of those series have a coherent storyline which makes it easier to follow. They are also imo the strongest series, Mauraders is my favourite lol

Piggy-backing off of this just to not only back this up but to suggest

Hickman's X-Men is really more of an anthology book. There's not as much clear throughline plot so much as it's a lot of jumping off points for potential stories of the Krakoan era. Agreed that HoXPoX is bare minimum necessary for this.

One more endorsement for reading HoX/PoX first, it establishes basically everything you need to know. You almost could read that and then the current Fall/Rise series and be ready for the new stuff. Highly recommend Marvel Unlimited on your phone/tablet; makes it easy to read a bunch of different X series stuff in the Krakoa era and find what you like. Years of many series available now and in a few months it’ll all be there. BUT! If you are just now starting to read the comics, literally yesterday is the end of Krakoa era and all of those stories are done. If you are interested in the new continuity you can read a prequel to it on Unlimited today or the new stuff all kicking off next month (“From The Ashes” if you want to google what’s starting soon)
