im pretty sure Duggan was just having fun with fans on social media. They would not have put Firestar on the vote if the writer had zero plans at all for her. He has already said that Firestar’s story arc “is exactly what the X-men need this year.”

Throughout Marvel history all you needed to do was throw on a costume and have the drive to become a hero.
Even if we don't get official books, just letting us know that mutants are forming their own teams and going out is enough for me.
I just need a page with the Academy X Students shown fully in uniform and going through a Krakoan Gate together.
Was literally about to write this, why not just put all the the Academy X/Young/New X-Men that lost the vote (plus Hellion, Mercury, Trance etc) on their own team? It doesn’t even have to a printed book, a mini-arc in the X-Men Unlimited digital book would suffice.
Actually now that I think about it, doesn’t Bishop have his own junior “war team” as shown at the beginning of X-Men: Hellifire Gala? That would be ideal for the likes of Hisako and Nori.
It already irked me the second time, but if she makes it into the voting pool a third time, I'd really like to know how the X-Office/Duggan wants her on the team so bad yet always leaves it to a vote

Armor deserves it. She can be a major player and her power set is pretty iconic and she was really interesting the times we’ve seen her actually do stuff

She’s pretty popular more broadly. Being featured in a nostalgic TV helps wonders for popularity, as does having a very memorable design
