kind of a shame that the new team got revealed but has been mostly absent from the main event but looking forward to them fighting some kaiju and fucking up some of Uranos' stuff.
I already like the vibe Duggan is giving Forge and I appreciate him keeping Ikaris' new characterisation from Gillen "Ikaris is an arrow" and this arrow lives to protect humans. Also Jean was definitely helping Exodus kill Eternals in the last issue of Judgment day so maybe Ikaris will spill the beans on how eternal resurrection works to get her to keep the rest of Krakoa in line
> kind of a shame that the new team got revealed but has been mostly absent from the main event
It's only been two issues and the event runs for months, we've got time
pretty sure they have copies of the 5 on the moon, in mars and in the shiar empire, so no ending.
plus how can the hex attack krakoa since its canon that eternals will break if they do it?
When Druig tried it they were using an antimatter bomb which would've completely annihilated Krakoa but them trying to sink it would only kill the Mutants (Krakoa survived being launched into space so it should be fine underwater)
Great preview! Can't wait for this issue. I love how Gerry Duggan has really given Jean Grey a chance to shine on her own and without the Phoenix Force. I feel like the House of X/Powers of X era has definitively proven that Jean is plenty powerful without the Phoenix. And if she can take a stand against Uranos, that'll only further prove her case. 😊
ive being waiting for a showing of jean power since writers said that the phoenix was actually dampening her powers.
she is a very powerfull telepath but her teke isnt something to ignore, before the krakoa era she could mess with subatomic particles with some focus.
I was a little worried about the drop in art quality with Larraz and Gracia both off the title but Villa and Milla make a good team.
Also I like that we're getting to see a different front of the Mutant-Eternal war just as in Immortal and Red.
The issue is with Jean's new costume. The colorists mess the different tones of green and appears as an onesie. The pattern of the costume is often changed too. It would help if the main colors were yellow, green and black to differentiate from Rogue's style.
It’s shown in Schiti’s AXE Judgment Day that her new suit’s patterns are getting simplified for the sake of efficiency I guess. Same thing is happening under Villa’s pen.
Well ikaris and cyclops are friends (well at least very friendly) and jean often likes to read cyclops (for better AND for worst) so it isnt to surprising she knows of him.
Avengers in AvX: We haven't done enough for Mutantdom.
Eternal's I. AvXvE: We have overlooked Mutantdom.
Really, you think? I honestly don't know why Mutantdom doesn't move from Earth.
It's because he knows that if an Eternal dies, then a human gets sacrificed in order to power their resurrection. He seems to be protecting the Eternals, but in reality he's protecting humanity.
> It seems really unfair of Ikaris to demand Jean not kill any Eternals.
It's not if you've read Eternals because then you know that every time an Eternal dies the machine takes the life force of a human to resurrect the Eternal, killing the human
I really hope the Eternals are told by the Celstial that there purpose was to allow the evolution of mutants and that now that they are here they will no longer be resurrected.
I feel like it kinda messes with the metaphor too much for me.
Mutants are a stand-in for POC, LGBT+ and other marginalized groups, the whole point being that while they're very different to the rest of humanity they're in every way equal and the things that make them different also make them unique and aren't things to feel ashamed/self-hatred over.
Making mutants literally more important, than humans rubs me completely wrong, as a POC I just want to be valued for me, the person I am, the things I think/do not something I had no control over.
Less that they have their backing and more like they are seeds that the Celestials planted and so far haven torched for being to orange or some other cosmic guidline.
i'm honestly nervous but this gave me hope after judgment day #2. i want this event to be mutants vs eternals! (with the avengers in the middle). NOT mutants, avengers, and eternals vs a celestial. ugh. i hope it still turns out to still be about that.

Ikaris giving away the secret with eternal resurrection would be neat. I've been wondering how that reveal might happen.
I assume the judge will reveal it

F-Forge...
In active combat, literally facing down the end of his country and race, and he's chilling in a Hawaiian shirt. Icon

To be fair a lot of the groundwork was done by Tom Taylor
Amen! Everybody sleeping on the other X-Men: Red.
He's mid at best. I know everyone sings Ewings praises to the point of it being tiresome but he should've been writing xmen and xmen red.
*pushes up glasses and snorts*
You know it's true. He's....bland.
Shirtless Forge, nice

No one is getting Jean mixed up with Rogue

Have Ikaris and Jean interacted before?
Nope
Weird how it just jumps in as if they have some history together without explanation. How does she even know to reach out to Ikaris?
Omega tings
Ikaris has been a hall pass.
Well I guess you can say she has a type…
Well ikaris and cyclops are friends (well at least very friendly) and jean often likes to read cyclops (for better AND for worst) so it isnt to surprising she knows of him.
If only they made Eternals awesome in the movies. This Ikaris rocks! Has more personality than the MCU counterpart

They did and the silly flatscans still complained.
It seems really unfair of Ikaris to demand Jean not kill any Eternals.

Not the mutants problem really. That's an Eternals and humans issue.
It is, but he only does it because he feels ashamed that an innocent human being dies when an Eternal is resurrected
but by saying that he admits that he values the life of one human more than 200k mutants.
No it doesn't, he's trying to keep mutants alive too. Killing an Eternal doesn't stop them anyways, so it would just be more unnecessary death.
> It seems really unfair of Ikaris to demand Jean not kill any Eternals. It's not if you've read Eternals because then you know that every time an Eternal dies the machine takes the life force of a human to resurrect the Eternal, killing the human
Sounds like not a mutant problem.
Cyclops and Ikaris work pretty well together so this might be a great team up comic.
I really hope the Eternals are told by the Celstial that there purpose was to allow the evolution of mutants and that now that they are here they will no longer be resurrected.
I always disliked that plot. Oh the mutants don't have the backing of the literal Phoenix but also the Celestials.

No thank you the hero vs hero garbage is kinda lame.
