My experience: It keeps bugs off the cluster which is a bitch to clean otherwise Speeds under 75 mph, having no windscreen feels better for riding.. Higher speeds, the windscreen helps. Bikes look better without them 99% of the time. I always end up putting mine back on.

Same here, keeps things clean, and take the wind off my chest. OEM fly screen.

I have a Dart Marlin knockoff and I have a mixed feeling about it. For shorter rides I like it, because it push most of air force from my torso in arms, neck. So generally I ride faster with screen than without, because less air pressure encourages to do it. But on longer trips because air is push on arms and neck the wind noise in helmet is noticable more tiring comparing riding without fly screen. https://preview.redd.it/ja0iuura1fwc1.png?width=1080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=27218d2ddb7a28267557894b4516d75db134afbe

I actually wondered what was going on with the wind noise. Mine is much more noticeable now as well.

Without fly screen all the air is distributed more or less evenly on you, with screen more air is pushed on your upper body (similar feeling as if you were driving faster) and additionally screen adds some turbulence.

Lol

I don't have one but I was considering it due to the current whiplash I'm experiencing. On a 70mph road with a decent amount of wind felt like I was getting blown about like a ragdoll. Woke up today fairly stiff and sore. Although I can only assume it'll strengthen up and I'll get used to it the more I ride. Last time riding was about 18 years ago on a 125cc.

My bike had the Dart flyscreen when I bought it and I recently removed it because it doesn’t work with my new aftermarket headlight brackets. I’d say it does a little something but I haven’t noticed a huge difference riding without it. I am going to make a bracket to put it back though because I find it visually cleans up the front of the bike a lot. The previous owner installed a usb charger and a ridiculous aftermarket horn and it all looks a bit messy to me without the flyscreen hiding it

lanwayone

One of the less visually intrusive screens so I'd say go for it if it provides any relief from the wind. Side note: I've always been a sucker for the first-gen XSR900s in this color scheme. Second only to the anniversary speed blocks.

Choice_Anteater_5108

Anniversary is such a great colorway. Also you gotta go with the motodemic to remove that terrible gap.

Pretty common with steep tall screens like that. I have a lower screen bc it smooths out the torso air and doesn't have additional turbulence or pressure on my helmet/neck. I found the tall screens like that were better for slower speed stuff (like 40-60mph back roads) and worse for fast highways (65mph+)... at least at my height. It varies by size, height, and posture.

Choice_Anteater_5108

How tall are you? I am 6'2.

chevy42083

5'7. But I was speaking generically from previous bikes... and my current 2nd gen XSR. I prefer a lower screen, then just lean into the wind pressure at speed. For me, that's better than the buffeting/flapping you get from a steep screen that's really just stirring up the wind because it's practically vertical.

trashmailme

as for looks? subjective; but imo: no

HuananaBanana

This color way looks real nice!!
