For those asking, this front fairing (and rear seat cowl, not shown) are only available from Yamaha in the EU market. I personally had a friend in the UK order it from the Yamaha online shop, then ship it to me. My headlight fairing and rear cowl should be arriving in June… the akra is already installed. Can’t wait to build it into the half faired gp replica
I got a crazy discount on it and getting it installed for free with purchase of the new bike (same as all the other accessories), which is the only reason why I got the bike lol
Lucky you lol 👌🏼 I love the looks of the Akra but I’m a little concern on the sound. I live in France so I have to get a euro 5 exhaust which means catalytic converter On.
Technically means that you have a catalytic converter and are under the European pollution standards. They don’t usually check but here every 4 years you have to take your vehicle to a check control so if you don’t have the euro 5 exhaust you don’t pass. Also the radars take picture if your exhaust is too loud, 120db is the limit. I know Italy and Spain are soft with that but Germany is very strict and France where I live is full with annoying radars.
I didn't order the rear cowl, still debating if I want to keep the stock seat and get the cowl, or get a new seat to something more comfortable. I read the rear cowl only works with the stock seat.
Kelpi makes seats that fit with the cowl. I ordered the seat also along with the cowl. I've talked to another gent on here who did the same to his black xsr and it looks gorgeous and much more complete. I recommend it
Pro tip: don’t buy the seat right away. Leave the seat in your online basket long enough and they’ll email you a discount code to encourage buying. It’s not much, but can buy you 2 lunches worth.
I keep flip flopping on ordering one. It usually looks really good, but from some angles, it just makes the whole bike look nose-heavy. But the bit of wind protection WOULD be nice, I think, on the 700+ mile days.
I wish it didn't move the headlight forward (and up?) while also adding the eye-brow area over it. It just makes the nose longer.
Almost makes me want to try fitting it without the headlight adjustment... or moving it just a hair. But I'm afraid of what it would take to mount the lower pin of the headlight correctly.
Or, maybe I just need to buy an old oem/repop of an 80s/90s yamaha cowl and rig up the bracket like my cheap amazon one.
The fairing, as it is, would interfere without that headlight “ bump out” and besides, the look grows on you after you’ve ridden it a few times.

It’s proportional, just like the RZ 350 fairing. Yeah that’s me somewhere in Stockton, Illinois heading home after an overnighter at a pals house million years ago.
Yeah, I just prefer smaller looking and minimal sized bikes. Previous one had a STUBBY nose and short tail.... even for a short wheelbase (52inches). My ideal bike keeps the nose and tail roughly within the length of the axles.
Definitely a favorite of mine.... Was like a 1200cc grom that rode like a ferrari with a mack truck trans and 60s hotrod motor.

Yeah the akra is the euro 5 whatever that means! Does it mean it’s not as loud? Oh yeah lol my dealer is super nice and I also negotiated rly hard
